2015 25 Motif Challenge # 13 Celtic Butterfly

Well, it's not great and I need more lessons, but.....I tried hard and studied quite a bit.
This is supposed to be a Celtic Butterfly from Rozella Linden's Tatted Butterfly Garden book.
It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Rainbow Splash and Navy.
As you can see my Celtic knots are not good(especially the one on the left wing since I had to try to tat the wing pattern backward to match it with the first wing.
The head was my doing.  Like I said when I posted for help, this book confuses me, but I love the butterflies and flowers in it!!!  :)
Well...I am making some progress on finishing last year's challenge up!  I sure hope I can get it completed, and complete one for this year too.  I have enough "I want to tat" patterns which should keep me busy while working on my other "need to get done" projects.
Have a great night everyone!!  Happy tatting!!!  :)

I don't have her butterfly garden book I have 2 others and the Celtic leaves but her pictures were not high quality and I didn't care for that it seems to make you study more :)

Thank you Madtatter80! I was thinking it's just because I still consider myself a bit of a beginner tatter even though I am starting my 6th year of tatting. I also have the Tatted Hair Pin Lace Butterflies book of hers and that's the next one I am working from. I am already seeing the same study the whole book first and still guess somewhat. Her works look wonderful, but they are hard for me to get, at least so far.

Except for my failure with the Japanese pattern last week, I have not tried anything that even approaches Celtic tatting. Good for you! I think it must be one of those techniques that just suddenly clicks with you.

Your butterfly turned out looking very nice. It is hard to tat the pattern 'reversed' when you need to match both sides. I don't have that book, but the butterflies on the cover are beautiful. I hope your next 'adventure' turns out to be easier to figure out.

Thank you Jane!! :) It's not correct, but it's ok.
Thank you SWtrompeter!!! :) With this, I just tatted the right upper wing, then the lower, and worked clockwise till it was done.
