Another round done on my 2014 Renulek Spring Doily

Round 10 is done.  It's cupping a little, but I am hoping that will straighten out with the last few rounds.
I had to take a friend for some medical tests Monday and while at the hospital waiting I was(of course) tatting this round.  Well, I had so very many compliments and questions, and a couple of ladies wanted more information, and one just wanted to watch.  I didn't make much progress while there with all that, but it sure got tatting some attention in our town!!!  :)

Tatting to show!!! :) And more snow.

This is Tatted Roman Cross by Davina Marie Canale-Achen  pattern link here:
It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Purple Iris Fusion.  This cross is for my Aunt who helped me deal with all the burial stuff for my dad last year.
As you can see it will need blocking, and I hope to add a tassel.
Here are a few more pictures of the deep snow.  First on a grill.  Notice how deep my footprints are??
Then something I can't stand to do, have a picture of me(I turned into a snowman as I snowblowed the driveway, but this picture doesn't show even half of it!!!  I melted when I got inside!!)   :)
This last picture is to show how deep the snow is on the pine tree branch.  It's actually deeper than the width of my hand.  It almost fell on me when I very slightly bumped the branch.  :)
Oh well, at least I got this tatting done, and hopefully we will get a slight break in snowfall tomorrow to try and get things accomplished before the next round.
Hope you all had a wonderful tatting day!!!  :)

Still snowing.......and very, very cold.

Well...look at all the snow on the garbage can and the pine tree branches.
This next picture is to show the huge plowed snow pile between our home and the next home.  It's almost over half as high as that home.  Wow!!!
This is a picture of my top "step" somewhere under all that snow is a step(that has to be about 8 inches deep).  See my little snowman holding the door open??  It's one of my slippers with my foot in it.  :)
The steps are hardly noticable.  We have had a drift before which made it look like a sliding hill, but today you can barely see the indents where the steps bend.
Well, my mechanic called and it looks like I have to start shoveling so that I can go pick up my van(YUCK!!!  It's currently 8 degrees F. and they say the windchills will be around -10 degrees F.)
Hoping to finish the cross and show it tonight!!!  :)
Have a happy tatting day!!!  :)

No Tatting, but plenty of snow to show for those who are interested.

I prefer to show tatting and then maybe a little something extra since this is a tatting blog, but for those who are curious here are 4 pictures from Saturday's "blizzard"(not much of a blizzard compared to the one when I was a kid which lasted 2 weeks).  These first 2 pictures are from late morning and early afternoon.

These next 2 are from later in the day(what a total difference!!), notice blue sky??  And there was actual sunshine.  :)  This is our 15 passenger van with it's snowy decor.  :)
 and pretty clouds??
And these next 2 are from this morning.  It has cleared quite a bit since, and is much brighter out, but no sun or blue skies.

Frustration!! Of course, shared by many tatters!

Tatting along, close a ring, and the thread just.....comes apart.
Oh well, I will have to try and fix it tomorrow if I am not clearing my mom's driveway
(she doesn't drive so it's not a necessity, just a desire).
I have seen many tatters with chocolate posted with their tatting. Well....my mother-in-law gave me this on Sunday.  It's a chocolate scented teddy bear(no calories!!!).  So cute, and a pretty mug for my homemade cocoa(I sure am getting a collection to have my cocoa in)!!  :)
Have a happy tatting week and to all those in the snowy areas, be safe!!!
They are predicting another 6-9 inches in our area over the next 2 days-nothing surprising.

2015 25 Motif Challenge #2

Since I tatted this one according to directions I am including it as one of my challenge pieces.
This is Jane Eborall's Ferris Wheel Motif
It's tatted in size 20(Lizbeth) HDT from Custom Cotton Etc.
The colorway name is *Over the Rainbow*, and size 20 Lizbeth Lilac Dk.
This is another beautiful motif designed by Jane!!!  I decided right away to pay very close attention, and I did and I didn't have to take any mistakes out!!  I think it's much prettier in person!
Have a happy tatting day!!!  :)

Tatting!!!! :)

This is the Twirly 6 Sided Hexagon by Jane Eborall
I saw this pattern when Jane was tatting & posting it and loved hers!!!  I have wanted to tat it for a long time, but just now had the chance.  I will tell you that mine isn't as good as hers, and that I didn't follow the instructions completely-oh, and I do need to say that my split chains seriously need help!!, but I got it done!  :)
It's tatted in size 20(Lizbeth) HDT from Custom Cotton Etc. on Etsy-  link here:
The colorway name is *Over the Rainbow*.
The colors are so beautiful and I can't wait to see what other beautiful thing I will tat with it!!!  :)
I am still working on my Spring Doily, but......I followed Diane-Lace Lovin' Librarian's tat "steps" and made some mistakes.  The first time I took everything out and fixed the mistake.  This time I repeated that same mistake again, but 3 times....so I cut off the round and am going to start it over again.  So don't feel bad Diane!!!  :)
Happy tatting everyone!!!  :)

Round # 9 done!

This round was of course much quicker going than the last round, and the next few should also be quicker.  For those who don't know or remember, this is Renulek's 2014 Spring Doily.  It's so much fun to be working with bright colors!!!
Hoping to start the next round yet today, but housework is calling so...off to work I go.  :)
Have a happy tatting day!!!  :)

Round 8 finished on 2014 Renulek's Spring Doily

I was totally determined to get this round done soon!!!  I tatted and tatted.  Well...last night I only had 3 repeats to go, but I decided not to finish and mess it up, so I put it aside and got things ready for bed, and today I finished the last 3 and prayerfully there isn't a mistake!!!
Again, this is tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Orange Crush, Pineapple Parfait, and Lime Green Med.(it's my Lemon, Lime, and Orange doily).  I still have 5 rounds to go, but am hoping to tat more today!!!
Oh, if you are wondering, it's sitting on 4 slightly overlapped pieces of copy paper(with the part of the pattern on the other sides- just for an idea of size).
Have a happy tatting day!!!  :)

A year later Spring Doily

So.....while everyone is working on Renulek's 2015 Spring Doily,
I am working to finish her 2014 Spring Doily.
According to my blog this was my last update(how did that happen???)

I picked it up Sunday since the seniors in our Sunday night group were worried about me traveling in the bad weather and told me to stay home(although, we had "church" last night), I am tatting round 8 so I must have gotten 2 rounds done and not posted them.   Well, that's how crazy life was last year.
I have 14 out of 25 repeats done on round 8 and am hoping to finish this doily BEFORE this spring!  Will it happen???  Only God really knows!  :)
