I got Awesome HDT and awesome colors! :)

My husband let me purchase some HDT this past weekend and today I got an awesome surprise in the mail! It's Yarnplayer's Nectarine and Corsage. I am so excited and can't wait to figure out what to tat with them!!! Most of all, I just like looking at the colors right now while I finish the doily(which is almost done!). Have a great day all! :)

Earrings and necklace

Made some earrings for my daughter yesterday. She wears clip earrings and they are hard to find so I made some for her. They are made from the Tatted Flower Pin pattern in Easy Tatting by Rozella F. Linden. I modified the pattern so it would be smaller for earrings.

And when I had first started the earrings I missed a picot join so I turned it into a necklace for my soon to be 6yr. old granddaughter(I hope she likes it!).

Motif #5 Beaded Rainbow Earrings(just rainbow)

Still working on doily and will post a picture when it's done, but I found this pattern online at http://www.georgiaseitz.com/classes/beads.html And thought it looks awesome, but mine turned out kinda big so I am going to find a different use for it...below is a picture of one idea.

I think it would make a great hair decoration(this is my daughter's, so now I need one for me) :)

Working on 8th round.....

Was hoping to have this completely done before this weekend, but this is as far as I have gotten. I am trying hard, but life has gotten too busy and in my way all week. Worse part is that there are already 2 mistakes made and I am not sure I can or want to work on correcting them-1: a join to a wrong picot, the other: missed 3 db stitches and one picot(I have figured out that for me, it's best to tat while listening to music instead of watching tv) Have a great weekend all! :)

7th round done! :)

Here it is.....

I have been taking pictures of it on the "bar", but right now the edge keeps ruffling and luckily my carpet won't allow it to ruffle as much so I got a better picture of it. Now only round 8 left. :)

who switched out my hubby????? ;)

Hi everyone! :)
Today has been a pretty good day and a surprise all around. First we had errands to run and girls to drop at the mall and such. Then, my husband decides we are going to go to the places I know that we can find tatting supplies and let me stock up a little. Things have been financially tight so I have been using what I have gotten to start with and just letting him know that I would like more. And today he decided we were going to splurge for me(WOW!!!!!!!). Now, I have started realizing that the threads I am using are not the quality of some others, but since I just started in Jan. I am ok with it, plus I can get a little more this way, till I get to buy the HDT's that I have been seeing on some of your blogs(they are so awesome!, and my favorite is already sold out-oh well). I have a few new colors, and more white which I am greatly needing to finish 2 doilies, and some clip earrings that I can make some motifs for my daughter to wear( and some yarn to crochet some kitchen dishcloths for my mom for Christmas).

Last night I got busy again on the doily and am about 2/3 of the way done on round 7. I hope to finish this round tonight and then to work on round 8 this week and get it fully done(prayerfully!). :) Have a great Saturday all! I am going to try to calm down a bit. :D

This was going to be motif #5, but....

I was working on this motif called Rose Medallion #39 from Tatting with Anne Orr. And it has turned out good, yet I didn't exactly joined the "rose" chains the way they were supposed to be, but my husband and daughter think it's awesome and so do I, so.... I am going to leave this one the way it is and try another true to the pattern for motif #5.
I think I need a better camera to make my tatting look better and not so fuzzy! :)

Tatting for International Tatting Day :)

Others were posting that they were tatting something for today if possible so I thought I would try. Last night I tried one design that I gave up on, and today I tried what was supposed to be a large medallion, but I am not sure I exactly understood the directions well enough just doing the first part, so I didn't do the 2nd round in the pattern, but I did like what seems to look like a small flower. Sorry, the picture isn't better, I can't seem to get a good enough one to show how cute it is. It's almost like 3D with all the rings going ever which way like real petals sometimes do. Hope you have all enjoyed your day! :)
