Finally back to the Christmas doily

I started this doily too long ago and the last
update was in April of last year. Here is the
info about it:
https://hiskid66.blogspot.com/2021/02/doilies-and-button-ornament.html

I am back to it and have struggled terribly.
I am not sure if it's me or the design.
This final row seems too tight, but I am
trying to finish and see.

When I stopped tatting it last there were only 4 or 5
repeats done.  I now have 15 done.  LOTS of missed
joins and I am not sure if I am too worried about them
ever being joined.
After this struggle is finished I will need to take a fun
break and tat something else, then my plan is to complete
the row #13 on my unfinished Renulek Spring Doily-
my other stress piece!
Have a great tatting day!!! :)

More hearts

Emptying shuttles and trying new patterns.

This picture should have been better, but oh well.
It's a large heart and only part of the pattern.  I used
size 10 Lizbeth Christmas Red to empty a shuttle.
I have already sewn in the ends and it looks nicer!
Pattern link here:  https://www.etsy.com/listing/1142409428/tatting-pattern-pdf-web-of-heart?ref=yr_purchases

Then to finish using that thread I was inspired by
Elaine P. Gan's Teardrop Earrings

 and tatted a heart.

And, I loved this cute heart pattern, link here:
Mine is imperfect like me. ;)
Tatted in size 20 HDT from Graceful Art
Handpaint American Beauty, and Lizbeth
Leafy Greens.

Hope you have all have a great day
filled with tatting!! :)

Christmas gifts to me

I got a little money for Christmas and just had to get some items I found very inexpensive.... Just wish I knew metric sizes!!

First are some cute angel charms (smaller than I thought they would be), adorable monkey buttons, and some great moon shaped "doodads" to tat around.

Next, some other "doodads" to tat around, and some pretty blue/green flower cabochons to make interesting Ice Drops.

Next, these are the ones that really boggle my mind. I thought they were my Ice Drop centers, but they are so tiny I am not sure if I can use them. I will try size 80 thread and see if I can work with them.
And last, I got a new tatting book.

I want to play, but I have a few things I have to
finish first!! ;)
Have a blessed night filled with tatting!! :)

More hearts, does this mean more love?? :)

Guess I am in heart mode.  I didn't plan it.
I tatted another of the inspired by the Mary
Konior's Josephine edging(the 2nd one I did).
This time I am using size 10 Christmas Red.

The picture below shows the difference in size
from the first one tatted in size 40 and this one
in size 10.

And, then I also tatted Elaine P. Gan's Renewed Heart.
Also in size 10.

I hope you all have a blessed tatting
filled day!! :)

3rd attempt and larger thread on the Corner inspired heart

I was busy trying to tat this corner heart.
This is better, but still not quite what I want.
I used size 10 this time which helps to see
stitches better.

Picture below is the inspiration.

Still thinking on this one, but trying to work
on other things too.  ;)
Have a wonderful day tatting!! :)

Mary Konior's Josephine edging inspired hearts(read previous post)

Muskaan was wondering when I would get these tatted-
last night I sat and tried tatting these and this is what
came from trying.
The first heart has the point from the 2nd picture(circled
in blue with an arrow above).
The second heart is like the picture without the picots
and Josephine knots.
I tatted these in size 40 Lizbeth Iris Fusion.  They are
just a little larger than an inch from side to side.

Below is the picture that inspired these hearts:

Here is the corner heart attempt.  MUCH
more work needed on it. It should be tatted
with 2 shuttles!!! The bottom will be changed
a bit to look more like a heart.  I have  already
written out the next attempt, but it's time to
take a break.

Picture below which inspired this....almost heart.

Have a great tatting day!!! :)

Muskaan's influence!!!

Muskaan tends to see possibilities in lots of patterns
for other designs.  And I don't know about you, but
her influence has made me start looking at patterns
more carefully to see what may be "hidden" within.
Today I searching for an edging pattern to tat into a
cross for a friend, but...instead I saw hearts.  I haven't
tatted them, but I saw them and thought I had to share.  ;)
They are in Tatting Patterns by Mary Konior pattern Josephine
on pg. 16 for those who have the book.
The first hearts I noticed upside down(I turned the picture
upside down for you to see them).
And then while getting this picture ready, I noticed another
upside down(and turned the picture back right side up for
you to see it).
Thank you Muskaan for being such a great influence!!  ;)
Happy tatting everyone!! :)

Tatting to show

Well, I sewed in the ends on my doily. I didn't complete it

according to the pattern because I really like it this way. ;)

It's from the Lovely Tatting Doilies for Fall and Winter
by HYE-OON LEE. This is Anya Doily 1.
I only did 8 of the 12 rows because I love it
just like this. I will most likely do Anya Doily 3 another time!!

It calls for size 30 thread, but I used size 10 Fun in the Sun HDT from Custom Cotton Etc. on Etsy, and 2 stands of size 20 Lizbeth Azalea Med.
I also tatted Convolvulus from Mary Konior Tatting in Lace book. And I used the same threads as the doily to empty the shuttle.

I also tatted a cross. The Trefoil Cross by Julie Pinkerton.
I used Lizbeth size 40 Blue River Glades.
I am getting some tatting in. ;) Have a blessed start to your new year!! :)
