Triangle hexagon

I love the way this is turning out! I may have to get more thread if there is any chance I want to make it bigger(and of course there is a BIG chance I want it bigger!). It is really amazing me what I will be able to do with this pattern. As I tat I keep seeing all kinds of neat stuff(which you may see in the future).

Below is a size comparison incase you decide to try it. This is Mary Konior's Spinning Wheel Glass Mat done in Lizbeth Royal Wave size 20 next to 24 triangles all connected from the DMC Library Tatting from the antique pattern library. It's PLATE IV. #23 done in Heather's(The Tarnished Tatter) HDT Harvest Time size 30. I love the autumn look and would love something quite large done in it(this may end up large if I have my way).

I may not be posting before the 2nd week of Nov. I will be busy on ministry weekends(this weekend and next) and there won't be much tatting time.
Have a great couple of weeks! :)

Something slightly modified

I wanted to make something for a friend who plays a guitar and with all the beautiful dangles I have seen by the online tatters I thought I would try something. It's actually Jon Yusoff's Melati(without beads) modified by putting a cross in the center instead of a 6 ring motif.

It's not perfect, but I believe she will like it a lot. Now I just have to make a way to hang it, but that is going to wait till tomorrow(it's has to be finished by Wed.). :)

10th Round done on Agasunset's tablecloth

So pleased...ok...time for a break from this since I won't be able to work on it for the next 2 weekends while I am away on ministry work. It is now just over 15 inches across.

12 Triangles makes a star....so far :)

I kept working on this last night and got this far.

Then today I did this.... 12 small triangles makes a star. :)
And in Heather's Harvest Time it's an autumn star. :)

Hoping there is enough thread to keep it growing. It's about 3 inches from top point to bottom point.

25 #2 Motif # 15 Diamond Triangles

I received this beautiful thread from Heather(The Tarnished Tatter). It's her HDT Harvest Time size 30. I really wanted something that would show off the beauty in the colors so I tatted this antique pattern. It's from the DMC Library Tatting from the antique pattern library. It's PLATE IV. #23. They have it in triangles, but I joined the triangles closely so that I could see as much color together as possible. I am hoping to join more and make a small doily.

Round 9 done

Still working on Agasunset's tablecloth. Round 9 now completed. It is about 14 1/2 inches across. On to round 10. I can't wait to see the finished project!

Here is a comparison for someone like me who is still new to tatting and has no clue the difference between a Clover shuttle and a Tatsy. It's a learning experience to work with such a large shuttle and without the pointed end, but I like not having to re-wind the shuttle so often with this larger thread and project.

After a bad afternoon....

It's great to find "goodies" in the mail!!!
The top section is the 2 Tatsy shuttles I got to order this week to hopefully help with tatting Agasunset's tablecloth without having to wind the shuttle quite so often. And they came with a tatted angel Christmas card, a few patterns and instructions.
The bottom front is from Heather The Tarnished Tatter. It's her 3 Hole Heart shuttles and some of her beautiful Harvest Time HDT.

My night is much brighter!!! :)

Still tatting and more crosses

Still busy tatting crosses. For some reason I felt the need to do a purple only one(Mary Konior's Large Cross), and the second was one that I made a mistake and joined a picot that I wasn't supposed to so I let it sit until yesterday when I decided I could make it work by adding a butterfly to join the other picot opposite the mistake and then join to the mistake also and I just looks like it should be there(Mary Konior's Small Cross). I am learning that butterflies are great mistake covers and they make a nice addition to the project(at least for the bookmarks so far).

The first is done in Lizbeth Lilac Dk size 40, and the second is done in Lizbeth Fruit Fizz and Lilac Dk. size 40 also.
As for the funny look of the background....it's my "professional" mistake-closing the copier lid while scanning, but I liked the outcome so I kept it. :)

Round 8 done

Working hard to get caught up on this tablecloth. I have 2 more rounds to catch up, but I am guessing by that time there will be more instructions and rounds. Right now it is just over 1 foot across. My husband is really wanting it done(I tell him to do it and see how quickly it gets done).
We have an oval table so this won't be for us, but I figured it was excellent practice! And Agasunset designs such awesome stuff I just had to try. :D

It's not blocked, just smoothed out by hand so it has a funny shape right now.

25 #2 Motif # 14

I got mad at my hubby today and put that anger into something constructive.
I bought Tatting with Rings from Jon Yusoff a little while back and finally got time to try a project. This is 1: Melati(without beads). I think it looks ok for a first time ever tatting on a ring. Thanks to Jon for such beautiful patterns to tat! Can't wait to have time to try more! This was fairly quick to tat-done in about 6 hours. And size 20 Lizbeth Caribbean thread.

Another cross

I wanted to make some more crosses and decided to do a pattern I have done several times. The only real difference is that this time it's not done in size 10 thread, it's Lizbeth size 20 Caribbean and Lilac Dk. The pattern is the Big Cross from Tatting Patterns & Designs by Gun Blomqvist & Elwy Persson. This is the first cross pattern I was able to complete and it's nice and easy for beginners-the only tricky part is in the clover joins all in the center, but full attention and it's not too bad.
