Working on tatting

Well, I thought I was doing pretty good, half way around
but the ruffling is way too much!!
This is in Lizbeth size 3 Snow White.
So I started to cut it off, but then snipped a thread
from the previous row and had no way to fix it, and
since that row had a continuous mistake in it, I figured
it was meant to be, so two rows to start over.
Today I needed a change so I decided to tat an Ice Drop.
Tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Coral Splash.  Just made up
the design as I tatted.
For those who are wondering, nope, not in the house
yet.
Have a wonderful tatting day!!! :)

Tatting and house update.

I have tatted Yarnplayer's Arches doily before(here:
and loved it.  Although, I tatted it in size 40 then and
now in size 20-Lizbeth Coral Splash and Snow
White.
Just to let everyone know the white row which looks
bunched does have overlapping under the large rings
and it happened in the first one I tatted also.
 Next, I tatted Yarnplayer's Snowflake-pattern here:
https://www.keepandshare.com/doc/8193376/tatted-star-and-snowflake-pdf-843k?da=y
I have been working slowly on Ninetta's Treble Tatting
Stitch and learning!!!  I started with size 40, then
size 20, and went to the store and got size 3(very
limited selection-5 solid colors to choose from).
I think it was my best idea!!!  I think my stitches
are more even and work out much better!!
I have the first and second(small rings which didn't
close well) rows of a trial piece
tatted and think it looks pretty good.
And, just got done with this snowflake below.

As for the house....frustration is the only word I have!
It's got the cinder blocks under it and a special coating
on them and now as the picture shows the dirt is all the
way up to the house.  The inside is not done and things
have been delayed again, this time by the electric
company and the contractor.  We were told electric would
be connected to the house Nov. 1, but were just informed
that has been changed to Nov. 6 due to the contractor not
doing his job.  Oh man!!!!  It could be Christmas before
we get to move in!!!
Hope you are all doing well and having a great day
and getting your tatting fill!!  :)

Tatting along........

I tatted this cross for another senior who
recently joined our Sunday night group.
It's tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Red Burst.
Next, I wanted to empty a shuttle and tried to tat
my own tiny heart design.  It's ok in the picture, but
not to my liking.
Attempting another heart I ended up with this cute
little motif.  It kind of resembles a heart.
Now, this is so far off from what I thought I was
going to tat.  I wanted a bracelet, but when the first
round curled instead of going straight I knew it was
not a bracelet.  I tatted the second round and like it.
Then, trying for a bracelet shape again, I ended up
with a pretty bracelet!!  :)
Tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Coral Med.(I believe).
And, yesterday while out I found these cute turkey
buttons.  They had little signs which said pardon me
and pick him, but I only wanted the turkeys for these
fabric yoyos to put on headbands or barrettes.  Well,
our older granddaughter saw them and wanted to know
how much I wanted for them and I told her I didn't
know yet, and she claimed the bottom right one for
her own and wants it put on a pin.
Her sister has claimed one of our daughter's fabric
pumpkins already.
Well, it's been a long day after a super long sleepless
night and we have to be up in less than 8 hours.  I
am going to try and find sleep again.
Have a wonderful day or night wherever you are,
and get your tatting in!! :)

Yes, I have been tatting.

Tatting seemed to come somewhat easy to me, but
I am learning Ninetta's Treble Tatting:
and it is and actual challenge for me.  I have made several
attempts and last night I had finally gotten it to work, but...
I put it away and got a little sleep and lost what I
had learned.  So...back to the learning process I
went today and, here are all the bits or learning
from last night through tonight.
I started in size 40, then size 20, and finally size 10.
10 sure makes learning easier for me, and it might
be the size I need for the project I am learning this
for.  I am going to try and get size 3 and see what
looks best for what I want and then decide.
I love smaller threads, but certain threads go best
with certain projects in my opinion.  ;)
I plan on attempting her little motif tomorrow.
Hope you are all getting your tatting in!! :)
Still waiting on our home to be ready.  Looks
like another kink in the plans-the electric company
says they won't hook the electric to the house until
Nov.1, and that delays the propane gas which needs
to be brought in and hooked up after the electric is
done.  So...praying for a miracle!!!

House/land update for those following

Image may contain: house and outdoor

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I guess I just said
3,000 words and hope you understand them all!!!  ;)

The Blue Doily continued by me

Well, I am making progress on the Blue Doily(pattern here: http://web.archive.org/web/20010418022115/http://www.geocities.com/leen_tats/BlueDoily.html ).
On the pattern Eileen says there's part of her that thinks it's just not quite finished yet, and I agree. So, I decided to try and add a few more rows. I wanted to have something similar to keep her design flowing as though she continued. I really love the first 4 rows and wanted to see if I could add the negative(open) space created by rows 2 and 3 to the outer rounds. Well, It has been a bit challenging, but not bad. I tried using the same stitch counts, but that didn't quite work, it caused lots of ruffling.

I realized that it would not be open spaces, so...I cut it all off and started over.

Then, after getting that row done resembling row 2,

I worked on the next row and got about 1/2 way around trying to make it resemble row 3, but the ruffling was really bad and the negative spaces were not right,

so I tried altering it a little and it laid flat beautifully.

So, now my negative spaces resemble the inner rounds

and I am ready to work on the next round tomorrow, hopefully!! The 3 lighter colored pictures of the transitions were due to
being out in the sunshine!!!! Hope you all got in some great tatting today!!! :) House/land updates: For those who have been following
our housing situation, the septic system was put in a few
weeks ago, the concrete slab for the house to sit on was
poured last Tuesday, the well was put in last Thursday, and
(drumroll) the house is supposed to be delivered tomorrow.
They say there is a chance that we could possibly move in
on Oct. 19(praying hard for that or earlier!!). I will let you
know when I know. ;)
