Christmas doily done!!!

 It's 25 inches across(an inch over 2 feet across).

I used size 10 cuz' I wanted it big, and the Lizbeth 

Christmas specialty pack I bought was size 10. ;)
Mistakes and all it's great!!! :)

I really love it.  I made the same missed join about 13 
times around the outer row which for some reason 
really challenged me and it's only a basic rings and 
chains design, but it really challenged me for some 
odd reason.

Muskaan, I spy hearts in the outermost red section.  ;)

It will be displayed this Christmas for sure!!!

Christmas Doily update

 I told myself that after all the holiday stuff was

settled down and done I would get to work to

finish this doily.  So, I did a little, but have had 

trouble as I said in my last post.  Well....trouble 

hasn't ended, but I am pushing through anyway!
In the last couple of weeks I have made significant 
progress and am pleased with me, but not the work.

Oh well, it's going to continue as is!!!
It's approx. 21 inches across and will NEED 

severe blocking when finished!!!

I took the picture below to show you the size.  
It's one full cushion on our loveseat. 

Pictures aren't the best because I am no real 

photographer and I only have the Christmas lights 

on(they are my usual lights!!)  ;)

Finally back to the Christmas doily

 I started this doily too long ago and the last
update was in April of last year. Here is the

I am back to it and have struggled terribly. 
I am not sure if it's me or the design.
This final row seems too tight, but I am 
trying to finish and see.

When I stopped tatting it last there were only 4 or 5 
repeats done.  I now have 15 done.  LOTS of missed 
joins and I am not sure if I am too worried about them 
ever being joined.
After this struggle is finished I will need to take a fun 
break and tat something else, then my plan is to complete 
the row #13 on my unfinished Renulek Spring Doily-
my other stress piece!

Row 11 done

Renulek's 2021 Spring Doily.

I have about 1/4 of row 12 started already.

I also have 3 points of the final row on my Christmas 

Doily started.  This pattern has given me some fits at 

the beginning and now the end, but I am getting it(I 

think).  ;)
I REALLY need to learn to work with downward 

joins!!!!!  I tried when I started the red row, but 

forgot when I picked it up and had too much done 

to go back and correct it, and now with this, I am 

NOT changing it!!!  Too much frustration!

Christmas doily continues! And Large Rainbow Suncatcher update

I have the red section done!  Seems like it took 

forever!!!  ;)  And looking back at my blog it looks 

as though I started the red around Feb. 1 which tells 

me that it took about 2 months, but I tatted lots of 

side projects too!  ;)
Again, this is tatted in size 10 Lizbeth Christmas 

Specialty pack.  And it measures about 20 inches 

across.  One more round to go, but it's another one 

that is like tatting 2 or 3 rows at the same time.  I 

am sure it will be wider than this table when done. 

And I will have to block it into submission if the 

next round doesn't flatten it out!!!

I just finished the tatting part of this large Rainbow 

Suncatcher.  If I do anymore tatting today, I think 

it will be on the tablecloth and then tomorrow the 

Spring doily.  ;)

Some updates

Here is what I worked on this weekend.

I tatted a "chain" for the mermaid pendant and

added beads to imitate bubbles.

I did a zig zag chain(3 first half stitches

and then 3 second half stitches) and I

added some beads our daughter got

that resemble bubble and match the

thread perfectly.

My Christmas doily has about 5 hours more work on this

round. I timed myself tatting one section up and it

takes me a 1/2 hour and then another 1/2 hour down,

so that is how I have estimated my hours to finish this

round. ;)

My Spring doily continues to grow one week at a time.

I also tatted another round on my rainbow suncatcher. Only 2 rows of red left to tat with a total of 288 beads

in just those 2 finishing rows(I already have them

strung and ready to tat!!) ;)

The Christmas Doily.

My tablecloth.

And, my mother-in-law asked me to tat her a 

suncatcher like the one I made her for Christmas-

the large rainbow one.  So, I started it.

And, I just got my Lizbeth Specialty pack I 

just ordered as soon as I saw it online!!

So, I am keeping busy tatting!!!

Finally 1/3

Oh man this round seems to be taking forever!!!
I like that it seems to be filling up space for 

about 5 rows, but.....it seems like it takes that 

much longer to get around!!! ;)
It's going to be a nice large doily for Christmas 

when done!!!

I believe this ball of thread was new when I started 

and I wound my Tatsy shuttle full to start and as you 

can see, I have used a lot just for 1/3 of the round.
I took out another ball because I am sure I will NEED 

it!!  ;)

Doilies and a button ornament

I started Renulek's 2021 Spring Doily.

Too many things going, but temptation has 

overtaken me!!!  :)
I am using size 40 Yarnplayer's HDT Brilliant Sunset 

and Lizbeth Boysenberry Dk.(so far). 
I had made a mistake and only tatted 6 rings in 

the center, and thought it was correct, until...

I noticed after "completing" the second round 

that it was supposed to be 8.  Thankfully the 

fix wasn't too bad since I just untied the threads 

on both rounds and added and finished both.

I work on the Christmas doily often, but it's slow 

moving since it's like tatting 5 or 6 rounds at a 

time.  I do like it!! :)
(Those pretty earring looking gems off on 

the left are some my daughter has asked me 

to make into earrings for her).

I have the book I am tatting my Christmas 

doily from.  Here is it.

And below is the picture of the doily in the book.

Next, I just had to play with an idea in my 

mind for button tatting.  It works, but can be a bit 

tough when closing the front rings.  ;)

Oh, and our daughter gave me these 

from a craft pack she got.  They are 

large sequins.  Something new to tat 

around or with.  ;)

My Christmas doily progress

Well, I have gotten some tatting done.
I will post all the info on this doily when done 

so I don't have to carry the book and such to my 

computer(still having troubles getting around).
I am using size 10 Lizbeth Christmas specialty 

pack I purchased quite some time ago.

I am trying to include all the colors(5).

I believe the next row will take forever because it 

looks like you tat what would be 5 or 6 rows  out-

ward and then come back to the doily and do it 

over and over.  We shall see when I get to the 

directions(hopefully I get them right!!!).
