Tatting, tatting, lilacs, tatting......

Row 8 of my test tatting doily by Elaine P. Gan is
done, but with problems which have been "fixed"
after this picture.  And I am on row 9 now.

My daughter gave me many "stones" for Christmas
so that I can tat around them.  This one is one of my
favorites.  It's quartz, but it's the shape of this one
that intrigues me.  This picture has the best chance
to see the design.  It is somewhat beveled a straight
light down the center and a "V" shape at the top and
at the bottom.  The back side only has a straight line
down the center.
Tatted with size 40 Lizbeth Coral Pink Dk. and 4mm
crackle glass beads.

The stone below was the reason I bought this thread.
I thought it matched somewhat, the color of the stone
(which in the picture looks to me like ground beef). I
don't know what kind of stone this one is, but I thought
someone would love it.  Same thread and some beads
which look black, but in the sun have a bluish tint.

My hubby and I love lilacs, but have never had a
bush of our own.  Last year he found 2(different
kinds) for 1/2 off the price and we planted them
and they survived the year(no flowers), but...it looks
as though we may actually have lilac flowers this
year!!!

Since my daughter and I signed up to do another
craft show again this year(Nov.) I NEED to get a
stock of things or just help her, but I paid for my
own space, so I NEED to get to work!!  ;)
So, besides the stone pendants above, I tatted a
bracelet(as you can see the pendants and bracelet
all need finishing!!!).  This is what I hope it looks
like when finished. I used Lizbeth size 40 Black
and Caribbean thread.  The pattern is an alteration
of Muskaan's
It's not as I expected, but it's nice and I like it! :)
I hope you have a tatting filled week.  :)

FINALLY!!!!

I have row 13 of Renulek's 2021 Spring Doily done
and this will be my doily as it is.  ;)
I finished this row this morning.  Now to spend time
sewing in ends and blocking it.
Last week I was inspired by a bracelet front(focal
piece) that I have had for some time(I have a bag of
all different styles and designs waiting for tatted bands.
Since it looks almost like diamond shapes I found Ninetta's
beautiful diamond bugle bead bracelet design and tried it.
Now I am trying to find a decent way to join the tatting
and the bracelet front to each other.

Oh, I used size 40 Lizbeth Rainbow Splash and changed
the stitch count a bit(Ninetta
used size 20 thread, pattern here:
https://ninettacaruso.blogspot.com/2016/12/diamond-shaped.html  )
And, being inspired by those bugle bead diamonds
I emptied the shuttles with this cute design.
I tatted the diamonds and then tatted the outer row.
It's terribly fiddly, but pretty.  I will try again tatting
the diamonds as rings and the chains coming from them
as a normal ring and chain pattern and see how that
turns out.  ;)
Have a fabulous tatting filled week!!! :)

Tatting along........

I tatted this cross for another senior who
recently joined our Sunday night group.
It's tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Red Burst.
Next, I wanted to empty a shuttle and tried to tat
my own tiny heart design.  It's ok in the picture, but
not to my liking.
Attempting another heart I ended up with this cute
little motif.  It kind of resembles a heart.
Now, this is so far off from what I thought I was
going to tat.  I wanted a bracelet, but when the first
round curled instead of going straight I knew it was
not a bracelet.  I tatted the second round and like it.
Then, trying for a bracelet shape again, I ended up
with a pretty bracelet!!  :)
Tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Coral Med.(I believe).
And, yesterday while out I found these cute turkey
buttons.  They had little signs which said pardon me
and pick him, but I only wanted the turkeys for these
fabric yoyos to put on headbands or barrettes.  Well,
our older granddaughter saw them and wanted to know
how much I wanted for them and I told her I didn't
know yet, and she claimed the bottom right one for
her own and wants it put on a pin.
Her sister has claimed one of our daughter's fabric
pumpkins already.
Well, it's been a long day after a super long sleepless
night and we have to be up in less than 8 hours.  I
am going to try and find sleep again.
Have a wonderful day or night wherever you are,
and get your tatting in!! :)

My own design suncatcher.....and bracelet

Well....my own design is wonderfully airy, but...
too large for a bangle bracelet, and for a 3 in ring,
and....too small for a 4 inch ring, so on to another
row to fit a 4 inch ring.  ;)
Oh, tatted in size 80 Lizbeth Peacock Blues.
Our daughter loves it and after the center and first
row were done, she named it.  Heart of the Sea.
She said she had read a book and that is what it
reminds her of.  So, I am keeping the name.
For some reason, I was inspired by the design and
ended up tatting a bracelet.
It starts off fiddly, but after one of the paperclips
and a bead fell off, I took them all off to continue
a bit easier.  Here is the start.  I tatted all of the beaded
section first.
After the first side of the beaded section was done,
I then tatted the first half of one end, around to the
other side, then worked my way back joining all
the beads, then tatted the opposite end.
 I love it!!!  :)  I think it's mine!  ;)
Below is a closer up view of the details.
Have an awesome week of tatting everyone!!! :)

Another Twin Cathedral Doilies update

Here they are again.  Ready for row 30 of 33.
Again, they are tatted in size 40 Lizbeth
Rainbow Taffy.
They are sitting on a table which is 4ft. by 2ft.
so...they are almost 2ft. wide.
I wanted a way to set short goals for myself to help
complete them quicker.  I think I found the right thing
to help.  These are Stitchpins (Susan Bates brand)-I
found them at Hobby Lobby and thought they would
help me.  I didn't know how many chains around the
rows until I placed these pins every 10 and there are
96 chains to tat!!!!  But, I try to tat 10 at a time and
it seems to help me get through it much quicker than
just tatting along.
Also, I had mentioned that our daughter is part of
a Pirate Crew and wants to bring things to sell when
they have a vending event, so to add something to
tat for change of pace and color I tatted this cuff
bracelet.  I just made up the design hoping some
pirate lady will like it for an addition to her costume.
And, I have another in mind.
Hope you have a wonderful day and achieve some
tatting too!!! :)

A Spring Ice Drop and a Bracelet

This is Diane's Minty Fudge pattern slightly
modified with "leaves" joining it to the ring.
I had the center Ice Drop done originally,
but accidentally cut a picot and could not
fix it so I cut it off and started again, only
break the thread when closing the final ring
around the gem, so on to try # 3 and here it
is.  :)
Size 40 Lizbeth Rainbow Taffy and Lime
Green Med. with yellow seed beads, and
a yellow bangle bracelet.
And after the first two frustrations with the above
suncatcher, Sunday I took a break and tatted
Wandering Blooms bracelet by Dawn McLaughlin,
pattern link here:
It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Raspberry Frappe with
pink seed beads.
Have a wonderful day of tatting!! :)

I think I am ready for the Craft Show

A few more angels and a bracelet.
And, our daughter is part of a Pirate thing(not sure
what exactly it is, but they hold events and dress up)
She has an event which has vending in it and the
group she is with has a table and she has told them
about my tatting and has been ok'd to bring some to
see if it sells.  She wants me to prepare some items
for a big one sometime in the summer and her
suggestions have been slave bracelets and cuff
bracelets, plus my normal stuff.  Now to fit all that
in with a move this summer-YIKES!!  ;)
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!

Yes, I am still here and have been tatting.

I got a sweet e-mail from Stephanie wondering if
everything was ok since I haven't posted in awhile.
I have been preparing for 2 Craft Shows-one this
Saturday, and another Apr. 13th.
I had this choker done, but needed a way to make
it adjustable and couldn't find anything so I decided
to tat a split ring chain to use.  Ends sewn in and
it's already for packaging.
Next, I had the center of this necklace done also,
but....again a chain was needed and a way for it
to be adjustable, so tatting to the rescue.
Close-up of the beads in the centers.
And, I wanted to tat Jane's Bookmark as a bracelet
and ran short on thread so just finished with a split
ring tail to make it adjustable.  Tatted in size 40
Lizbeth Niagara Falls.
Pattern link here:
*Twin Doily Update: the 2 Rainbow Taffy Cathedral
doilies I have been tatting since last year are on row
25, and the first one I started is at row 28(I believe).
And the tablecloth is accumulating motifs from time
to time.
I am not sure how much tatting will be done through
the spring because we are in a search for a new place
to live and have to move before the end of June.
Will post whatever I can, but just know, I am not giving
up tatting!!!

Tiny bits of tatting

Ok, only 3 repeats have been achieved so far.  At
this rate Fox will catch up and pass me!  :)
Here's a view of most of the doily.
A lady in our Sunday morning group picked out a
pair of donut earrings for her youngest daughter,
but the sweet angel says she doesn't like to wear
earrings even though her ears are pierced so, I told
her I could put the donuts on a bracelet for her and
she was very excited.  I went with a simple ring
and chain design, and although the colors are not
something I would normally choose, I figured a 5
or 6 year old would love it more!
It's small and I made it so the lobster claw clasp
can hook into any of those rings so she can grow
into it.  :)
So you see that I have been tatting like a turtle,
but still tatting!
Happy tatting and have a wonderful day!!!!  :)

2016 25 Motif Challenge # 5

I have wanted to tat this bracelet since I first saw
it, and I didn't do it justice so I will have to try
again another time, maybe using size 40 instead
of size 20 thread.
This is Corina Meyfeldt's pattern. Link here:
I tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Sky Blue Dk. with these
fabulous beads I found at Hobby Lobby from inBloom
by Bead Design, and Czech Glass Beads 11/0 seed
beads Crystal. I purposely left the focal beads out
of the centers of the end motifs so that I could wear
it and sit my wrist on a table without the pain of
beads under my wrist.
I had also tried to add the seed beads around the
focal bead, but that distorted the tatting and didn't
work well for me.  I also believe smaller picots on
the points and outer joins would help a lot!!!!
We are having a house full today for what was
supposed to be a grill out, but it's raining so, it will
be just a food and fellowship day!!  :)
Happy tatting and have a wonderful weekend!!! :)

A bracelet

Here is the bracelet I was talking about.....
I had thread on the shuttle and wanted to empty another shuttle,
and the bugle beads were right there, so I started tatting and this is what emerged.
I don't know if someone has designed a bracelet like this,
I was just tatting and not sure what I was going to do.
I would have the findings on it, but I can't find my gold jump rings so...
I will have to make a trip to the store soon.
Hope you have a wonderful day!!  :)
Just realized I forgot to add this info:
Tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Rainbow Splash with gold bugle beads.

Ruth bookmark or bracelet(which is what this one is)

This is another Elaine P. Gan design from book # 3.
It's the Ruth bracelet (or bookmark).
This one is tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Summer Fun small clear beads.
Interestingly enough is the stretch this pattern has(at least this does).
I am continuing to tat along.  Maybe tomorrow there will be something new since I have almost the whole day to myself.
Have a wonderful night, and enjoy some tatting!!!  :)

Another bracelet

I test tatted this bracelet back in December
I wanted to see it in navy and silver so...
this is size 40 Lizbeth Navy thread with silver beads.
I will be getting back to my snowman, but wanted a change of color
and a small break.
Hope you have had a wonderful day and achieved some tatting too!!!  :)

A little test tatting today.....

Elaine P. Gan asked if someone would just look over her pattern, but after the holiday and the granddaughters(who just went home today), I wanted to tat something so I test tatted this bracelet pattern.  Just to let you know I believe that the "waviness" is due to my personal errors-the pattern was fine!.  Either way, I love it!!!  I may use it as a bookmark instead of a bracelet, but that is in debate right now.  It's tatted in size 40 Kaleidoscope HDT from Tat-i-licious.  I love this colorway and wish she was still dying threads!!!!!
With all the peace and quiet I will probably fall apart after having our granddaughters since Christmas day(and having an all-nighter with them Sunday night after church.....oh, just so you know, they fell asleep at 3am).
I am praying, hoping, and planning on trying to finish up anything I started last year(or whenever) before the end of 2016.
I hope you had a wonderful and blessed Christmas, and are having some good tatting time!!!  :)

Ooops, I guess I should tell you that the doily was loved!!!  Although, there was a total surprise twist in who received it.  Since my in-laws knew nothing about it, and my hubby was pouting the other day saying he wished he could keep it and just give them a gift card.....I decided to wrap it and give it to him as a gift-which totally surprised him!!!!  And the in-laws loved their gift card to their favorite steak restaurant.  This next year may have 2 surprised doilies(we'll see).  :)

Test Tatted Bracelet

This is another Elaine P. Gan design.
It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Boysenberry Dk. with silver beads.
Thank you to everyone thinking and praying for our daughter.  Today she woke up feeling better and the redness is starting to shrink a little.  She has been resting and watching movies, and I have been doing housework and tatting.  I will keep you posted on her progress.
Now back to housework, and the doily.
I hope you have a wonderful day and get some tatting in.

Christmas bracelet is finished and wearable!!! :)

I used a toggle and ring to finish this bracelet.
I love the ring because it looks similar to a wreath!
Still working on the doily.
Hope you are having a wonderful day and getting some tatting done!  :)

Test tatting while working on the doily

This is another design from Elaine P. Gan.  She actually designed it before: http://hiskid66.blogspot.com/2015/07/test-tatting-tatting-tatting.html
and it has been test tatted, but she has since made minor changes and I was able to test tat it again.
This is actually a bracelet size because I love it as a Christmas bracelet!!!
It's size 20 Lizbeth Christmas Delight with tiny red glass beads.  I love it!!!  :)
All I have to do is sew in the ends and add findings and I can wear it for Christmas, can't wait!!!  :)
Still working on doily.  I am now a day behind on my goal for each day, but I am sure I will be able to make it up, prayerfully anyway.
Hope you have had a great day and even gotten some tatting in!!!  :)

A Bracelet Gift

This is Jane's Bookmark made into a bracelet.
I definitely need more practice on this one!  I had troubles keeping the split rings close to the other rings, and I ended without making sure I didn't have picots on the large rings(which came in handy to cover up the final ring which didn't work well).
It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Black with tiny gold beads.  The "chain" of jump rings is my way of making it adjustable.
Hope you had a wonderful day and got some tatting in!!!  :)

Finally..... one little bit of test tatting to show

I have been so terribly busy with life that I haven't had enough tatting time
(my total and honest opinion!!!).  I finally took time and did my best to test tat this for Elaine P. Gan.  It's a bracelet design.  It's tatted in size 20(not my usual) Lizbeth Caribbean.
All the tatting I have been seeing on the blogs has been wonderful!!!  I hope and pray that soon I will have more to show.  I tons of ideas and thins I want to do, but time is a problem!!!
Move over life, tatting is a necessity!!!  :)
Have a blessed tatting day!!  :)

Tatting to show!! :)

This top picture is a glimpse of what my livingroom has been looking like.  Lots of tatting work sitting out.
If you can see on the paper towel about in the center I have finished both of those pairs of earrings(Lizbeth Rainbow Splash dreamcatchers, and purple dangles), and I am set up for several suncatchers(which I have 4 finished and a fifth in the works).  :)
.
These are my dreamcatcher earring pattern tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Niagara Falls.
The small "ring" on the top of the picture is a bracelet I tatted for my oldest granddaughter too long ago to remember when, but as you can see it has been well used.  She brought it and asked me to tat another, but since I have no other rainbow thread she asked me to use the size 10 Royale that I was teaching her to tat with.  So, the bottom bracelet is the new one just needing the ends sewn in.  It's kind of adjustable so she can grow into it.  :)
**Original here:  http://hiskid66.blogspot.com/2012/06/birthday-request-from-granddaughter.html
Here are the 4 suncatchers I have done.  Starting on top left to right.
All size 40  Lizbeth Sea Island Citrus, Autumn spice,
Purple Iris Fusion, Juicy Watermelon.  (this is the only picture taken with my new camera so if the others are blurry, I apologize, but my old computer wouldn't accept the new camera, but I tried it on this new computer and it works....so far).  :)
This is a slub or flub or whatever everyone calls the knots in the ball of thread.  I was quite frustrated, but I just skipped past it for not.  I will make the correction later.
