Getting some crafting time in here and there

I am working on lots of things when crafting
lately.  I am working to get my Triangle Triangle
Insert done....one triangle at a time.
I thought at this point if it was green it would
be a Christmas tree. ;)
Lizbeth size 40 Orange Crush and Pineapple
Parfait. My own design.

And a motif at a time added to my tablecloth. The
lower part is where I am currently working-only 3
motifs needed on the left to finish this row. An
antique motif and my design.

And, I started a Christmas present for our 100 yr. old.
Hopefully it will be a beautiful collar when finished!

I was given the pattern for this January doily
from Frywolitki - Magic Shuttles on Facebook.
I made it for a friend who hasn't been
feeling well for over a month. She loves it!!

I used Lizbeth size 40Leaf Green Dk., Leaf Swirl,
and Latte Foam.

I tatted Mary Konior's Small Cross for a senior
lady.  Size 40 Lizbeth Angel's Love.

I had a senior ask me to make her a yellow rose with
black background keychain in plastic canvas.  She
loves it(she is from Texas). ;)
I have also made 2 more name signs, but not as
fancy as the butterfly one.

I am learning micro-macrame and enjoying it, but
not as much as tatting!!!  Lots of threads and no
shuttles to "do the work". ;)
This is the first fancy bracelet I made.
This one is in 1mm waxed cord.
Tutorial from Zehn Talente here:
 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhO4GCr1Dy0

Yesterday I made my 2nd fancy micro-macrame
bracelet.  This one is in 0.5mm waxed cord.
I only have 2 colors of cord in each size so this
is what I ended up with.  Still a LONG way to
go in my learning!!
Tutorial from DecoIdeas BETH here:

I hope you are all enjoying tatting and crafting
time!!!  :)

Tatting and "new to me" Micro-macrame

I tatted a large Ice Drop and turned it into a
suncatcher for me.
I love being able to see the glitter through the gem.
I tatted another Ice Drop still trying to empty shuttles.
And, another.  I now have 6 empty shuttles-Yay!!!  :D
Below is the first actual micro-macrame project I
completed.  I used a 1mm cotton cord and found out
it need to be a waxed cord which is much smaller, but
I like it for a first.  ;)
And back to tatting, I am tatting a doily designed by
Elzbieta Jurzysta.  I am hoping it will cheer a friend
who hasn't been feeling well for about 2 months.
And below is where I am at on the doily now.
And, I am making little bits of progress on my
Multi-Triangle Triangle.  It will be for the side of
another shirt(similar to the pink one).  One triangle
at a time.
And below is lesson 3 of my Micro-Macrame
learning and I completed a necklace today.
My "teacher" is  Andrea Rau.  Here is the
link to her tutorial for this necklace:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sM7sfUIQwC0
Hope you are having a great day and getting
some tatting, and maybe some other projects
in!! :)

Tatting, tatting, lilacs, tatting......

Row 8 of my test tatting doily by Elaine P. Gan is
done, but with problems which have been "fixed"
after this picture.  And I am on row 9 now.

My daughter gave me many "stones" for Christmas
so that I can tat around them.  This one is one of my
favorites.  It's quartz, but it's the shape of this one
that intrigues me.  This picture has the best chance
to see the design.  It is somewhat beveled a straight
light down the center and a "V" shape at the top and
at the bottom.  The back side only has a straight line
down the center.
Tatted with size 40 Lizbeth Coral Pink Dk. and 4mm
crackle glass beads.

The stone below was the reason I bought this thread.
I thought it matched somewhat, the color of the stone
(which in the picture looks to me like ground beef). I
don't know what kind of stone this one is, but I thought
someone would love it.  Same thread and some beads
which look black, but in the sun have a bluish tint.

My hubby and I love lilacs, but have never had a
bush of our own.  Last year he found 2(different
kinds) for 1/2 off the price and we planted them
and they survived the year(no flowers), but...it looks
as though we may actually have lilac flowers this
year!!!

Since my daughter and I signed up to do another
craft show again this year(Nov.) I NEED to get a
stock of things or just help her, but I paid for my
own space, so I NEED to get to work!!  ;)
So, besides the stone pendants above, I tatted a
bracelet(as you can see the pendants and bracelet
all need finishing!!!).  This is what I hope it looks
like when finished. I used Lizbeth size 40 Black
and Caribbean thread.  The pattern is an alteration
of Muskaan's
It's not as I expected, but it's nice and I like it! :)
I hope you have a tatting filled week.  :)

Weekend Tatting Update:

I finally added (simple) tatting to my
Dorset button.  I like it.  It almost looks
like a purple daisy.  ;)
I got row 5 of 9 done on the doily I am test
tatting for Elaine P. Gan.
And...two still in work projects..

I hope your week is filled with beautiful
tatting!!! :)

Finished my first Online Tatting Design Class project

I got to show the class tonight, so...I get to show you
now.
I found this picture and wanted to tat a suncatcher
with a similar design.  Well....
It ended up becoming a 7 inch doily.
It's tatted in size 3(yes, 3!) Lizbeth Snow White.
It has Ninetta's Treble Tatting in 3 rows-the center,
the middle, and just before the final row.
There is some ruffling, but I am sure it will settle
down with I get around to blocking it properly.
For those who don't know about Ninetta's Treble Tatting,
it mimics crochet, here is a link:
Below is a close up of the edge with the Treble Tatting
which is just before the final chains.
Have a great day filled with tatting!!! :)

Another row on the tiny doily.

2 more rows to go on this.
As you can see, it's still small!!!

Have a fabulous tatting day!!!  :)

Started a doily pattern....

I wanted a small doily, but I think this will end up
a coaster.  ;)
Tatted in Lizbeth size 40 Orange Crush
Pattern name and location are on top of the page
it's sitting on.  It's on a pocket notebook to show
size so far.  Another row or 2 to go yet.
someone on Just Tatting the Facebook group shared
her finished doily and this link.
Hope you have a great day and get some tatting in!!!
:)

Still tatting along on the Spring Doily from last year

Making some progress to help relieve stress.
I am in the final stretch(and yes, it's a stretch.  I
try to tat 1 repeat at a time, and then another if I
can.  I love the beauty of this pattern and can't
wait till it's finished and blocked!
Stress relief is needed because tomorrow we start
the process of going through my mom's house.
Looks like I am getting the large furniture, but I
live in a small place and am not sure where to put it
with what I already have.  Either way, I am not just
letting it all go.  Then we have to decide which each
of us kids want(pretty much done already), and then
all the grandchildren get a chance.
I am so thankful I have tatting to "escape" into.
Happy tatting and have a wonderful day!!!  :)

Spring Doily coming toward the end(waiting for Fox to catch up) :)

Hi everyone!!  Happy New Year to everyone!!!
Thank you to all those who send prayers and
well wishes for my mom.
While she was in the hospital I got a little tatting
done, and some since then.  I think I only have
about 1/4 left to go.  I am waiting for Fox to
catch up so we can both end at the same time.  :)
For those who don't know this is Renulek's 2016
Spring Doily, tatted in size 80 Lizbeth Snow White
and Summer Fun.
I have a challenge for this year to share with you
later.
Happy Tatting!!!  :)

Still tatting along(a very long!!!!!!!!!!)

It feels like these rows are taking me forever, and
ever, and ever.  But I know I shall make it to the
end some day!!!  :)
I am guessing I have about 1/4 done so far.  I am
again marking 10 repeats hoping to meet the goal
or exceed it each time.
The lighting is bad cuz' it's almost 9pm here, but
I just had to post some progress!!!  :)
Happy tatting and have an awesome day!!!  :)

Finally....round # 8 done!

Straight from the shuttles and "thrown" onto the
scanner.  Here is round 8 of Renulek's Spring 2016
doily.  As you can see, I didn't get it to lay straight.
There is a lot of ruffling in this round(pretty when
you look at it, but not needed in this doily).  :)
Well...my hubby wants to go fishing with his friend
after he gets home tomorrow, if the weather is nice.
That means I will have tatting time!!!!  :)
And since we don't do anything for Memorial Day
I believe I will have tatting time then too!!!  :)
Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend for
those who celebrate it, and for those who don't
just have a wonderful tatting weekend(if possible)!!  :)

Not as much progress as I hoped, but doing ok

Working around so many things, but I made a little
progress this weekend.
Have a tatfully wonderful day!!! :)

Renulek's 2016 Spring Doily round 7 completed

I have really been working on this round,
but it seemed like it was taking forever!!!
It's so beautiful and it was a struggle to choose
the color(s) for this round.  I have never tatted
a round like this separated in 2 colors, but I thought
this was what I should do.
Have a fabulous day tatting along!!! :)

Only one more round to go.....

Well, the "hide & seek" doily is coming to a finale!!!
I have one more round to go and then some severe blocking
to do!!!  As you can see it's a bit ruffly right now,
but I am not worried!
Since today has been awful gray and rainy,
I had my "blue"(skies) in my hands.  :)
Have a wonderful tat-filled day today!!!

Saturday, April 30, 2016

Today's plans fell through, so....another round done!!

Straight from the shuttles and round 4 completed.
The last join is a mess, but I will be ok with it(hoping it doesn't show).
Again, this is tatted in size 80 Lizbeth Summer Fun and Snow White.
It's about 4 1/2 inches across now.  :)
Have a fabulous weekend!!  :)
Hope you get some tatting time!!!  :)

Thursday, April 28, 2016

Got the next round done today....

I had to put something behind this because I figured
that the scanner wouldn't show up the white well at all.
This round is tatted in size 80 Lizbeth Snow White.
Not sure how much tatting will be able to be achieved
this weekend, but as other weekends have proven me
wrong, I will just say...wait and see.
Hope you have a wonderful and tatting filled weekend!!!

Tatting toward completion.....

It's not your eyes on this first picture!  It's still purposely blurred.
Just had to try and show some progress hopefully without giving away
what it is that I am tatting.  :)  I really am hoping the big reveal will be
worth it!!!  :)
Next, is progress on the "hide & seek" doily.
For those who don't know, the reason it got that nick-name
is because it has to be kept hidden from the recipients(my in-laws)
who have dropped in while it was sitting out to be worked on-
it will be their Christmas present this year, and my hubby who
will want to claim it for his own.
It's the Hostess Set Centerpiece from Tatting Patterns from
Mary Konior.  It's being tatted in size 10 Lizbeth Turquoise Twist.
The only thing I have with this is that when I get to the clover rounds
it starts cupping badly.  After the last round of clovers I had to block
and severely stretch, so I am anticipating the same thing after
this round.  And then I believe there are only 2 or 3 more rounds left.
I have been tempted to tat Renulek's new doily, but with these
and still trying to work on my challenge, my list, and my
designs...I have put it aside.  Although, I have taken thread out
twice, so I may be starting that too, which will help to hide
Christmas presents, because my hubby my won't know about
them if he sees me working on other things.  :)
Have a fabulous day and hopefully some tatting too!!!  :)

Another round done on the hide & seek doily

Well, I think this will have to sit till next week to have more accomplished.
Yesterday I spent almost the entire day on the phone with incoming calls,
so much so that it was desperately needed to be charged at bedtime!!
So....since I didn't get any real work done yesterday I will have to work today.
I tatted this round while watching a little tv before bed.
The next round is back to more work then just chains all around.
I really love the "negative" spaces in this doily and think it would
be awesome tatted in colors to accentuate them!!  :)
But...I need to finish this one and have many
other projects to get to also, so I guess that will have to wait.
Have a great tatting day!!! :)

Hide and Seek Doily

Another row accomplished last night.  :)
Still planning on trying to finish the 6 shuttle challenge piece, but phone calls have totally interrupted my whole morning and now afternoon(I am on the phone while posting this).
Have a great day(it's a snowstorm day here)!!  :)
