Tatting, tatting, lilacs, tatting......

Row 8 of my test tatting doily by Elaine P. Gan is
done, but with problems which have been "fixed"
after this picture.  And I am on row 9 now.

My daughter gave me many "stones" for Christmas
so that I can tat around them.  This one is one of my
favorites.  It's quartz, but it's the shape of this one
that intrigues me.  This picture has the best chance
to see the design.  It is somewhat beveled a straight
light down the center and a "V" shape at the top and
at the bottom.  The back side only has a straight line
down the center.
Tatted with size 40 Lizbeth Coral Pink Dk. and 4mm
crackle glass beads.

The stone below was the reason I bought this thread.
I thought it matched somewhat, the color of the stone
(which in the picture looks to me like ground beef). I
don't know what kind of stone this one is, but I thought
someone would love it.  Same thread and some beads
which look black, but in the sun have a bluish tint.

My hubby and I love lilacs, but have never had a
bush of our own.  Last year he found 2(different
kinds) for 1/2 off the price and we planted them
and they survived the year(no flowers), but...it looks
as though we may actually have lilac flowers this
year!!!

Since my daughter and I signed up to do another
craft show again this year(Nov.) I NEED to get a
stock of things or just help her, but I paid for my
own space, so I NEED to get to work!!  ;)
So, besides the stone pendants above, I tatted a
bracelet(as you can see the pendants and bracelet
all need finishing!!!).  This is what I hope it looks
like when finished. I used Lizbeth size 40 Black
and Caribbean thread.  The pattern is an alteration
of Muskaan's
It's not as I expected, but it's nice and I like it! :)
I hope you have a tatting filled week.  :)

FINALLY!!!!

I have row 13 of Renulek's 2021 Spring Doily done
and this will be my doily as it is.  ;)
I finished this row this morning.  Now to spend time
sewing in ends and blocking it.
Last week I was inspired by a bracelet front(focal
piece) that I have had for some time(I have a bag of
all different styles and designs waiting for tatted bands.
Since it looks almost like diamond shapes I found Ninetta's
beautiful diamond bugle bead bracelet design and tried it.
Now I am trying to find a decent way to join the tatting
and the bracelet front to each other.

Oh, I used size 40 Lizbeth Rainbow Splash and changed
the stitch count a bit(Ninetta
used size 20 thread, pattern here:
https://ninettacaruso.blogspot.com/2016/12/diamond-shaped.html  )
And, being inspired by those bugle bead diamonds
I emptied the shuttles with this cute design.
I tatted the diamonds and then tatted the outer row.
It's terribly fiddly, but pretty.  I will try again tatting
the diamonds as rings and the chains coming from them
as a normal ring and chain pattern and see how that
turns out.  ;)
Have a fabulous tatting filled week!!! :)

A bracelet and earrings

I test tatted another choker for Elaine P. Gan, but I
liked the design and decided I wanted mine to be
a bracelet.  ;)
And, our daughter has a friend visiting and she
bought a pair of my Ice Drop earrings, and a pair
of Small Maple Leaf earrings, and then requested
a pair of the Small Maple Leaf earrings tatted in
Yarnplayer's Snowflake HDT, so I got busy today
and here they are!!!  :)

I hope you are having a tatting filled day!!!
I am off to test tat a necklace next!  ;)

A Bracelet

I tatted a bracelet. I had a much different plan in mind.
I wanted clovers in a row and tip to tip, but, when
tatting it curved into a circle(square), so I just tatted
several and had to figure a way to join them per our
daughter's request, so...this is what I ended up with
-not following anyone's pattern, just tatting. Size 10
Lizbeth Mocha Brown Dk. with wooden beads someone
gave me a long time ago(for my kids-when they were
young to use). I have to add a clasp yet.
Getting some tatting done!! :)
Have a great night!!

Another size 3 bracelet

I tatted another size 3 Lizbeth Autumn Spice bracelet.
The bracelet pattern above is from Ninetta Caruso.
Link here:  https://ninettacaruso.blogspot.com/2015/08/saying-sorry.html?m=1
I have a tons of projects all going at the same time,
and more off to the side where you can't see them.
Have a wonderful day and get some tatting in.  :)

Tatted Bracelet and lots of thread!!!

I saw a bracelet pattern on a google search and
decided to try it.  Link here:
It's tatted in size 10 Lizbeth Latte Foam with brown
beads(can't capture the colors well on camera!).
Now, I have to sew in the ends and add the clasp.
My daughter wants me to tat some cuff type bracelets
in larger threads for friends.
I also just received a thread order-33 balls!!!  All
size 40. Nine of the colors are new to me, but I am
looking forward to using the new colors with the
ones I already love!!! :)
I am also busy with a new Tatting Design Class
project.  Will show after the class sees!!  ;)
Have a wonderful day and hope you get some
tatting in!!!  :)

Tatting along........

I tatted this cross for another senior who
recently joined our Sunday night group.
It's tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Red Burst.
Next, I wanted to empty a shuttle and tried to tat
my own tiny heart design.  It's ok in the picture, but
not to my liking.
Attempting another heart I ended up with this cute
little motif.  It kind of resembles a heart.
Now, this is so far off from what I thought I was
going to tat.  I wanted a bracelet, but when the first
round curled instead of going straight I knew it was
not a bracelet.  I tatted the second round and like it.
Then, trying for a bracelet shape again, I ended up
with a pretty bracelet!!  :)
Tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Coral Med.(I believe).
And, yesterday while out I found these cute turkey
buttons.  They had little signs which said pardon me
and pick him, but I only wanted the turkeys for these
fabric yoyos to put on headbands or barrettes.  Well,
our older granddaughter saw them and wanted to know
how much I wanted for them and I told her I didn't
know yet, and she claimed the bottom right one for
her own and wants it put on a pin.
Her sister has claimed one of our daughter's fabric
pumpkins already.
Well, it's been a long day after a super long sleepless
night and we have to be up in less than 8 hours.  I
am going to try and find sleep again.
Have a wonderful day or night wherever you are,
and get your tatting in!! :)

My own design suncatcher.....and bracelet

Well....my own design is wonderfully airy, but...
too large for a bangle bracelet, and for a 3 in ring,
and....too small for a 4 inch ring, so on to another
row to fit a 4 inch ring.  ;)
Oh, tatted in size 80 Lizbeth Peacock Blues.
Our daughter loves it and after the center and first
row were done, she named it.  Heart of the Sea.
She said she had read a book and that is what it
reminds her of.  So, I am keeping the name.
For some reason, I was inspired by the design and
ended up tatting a bracelet.
It starts off fiddly, but after one of the paperclips
and a bead fell off, I took them all off to continue
a bit easier.  Here is the start.  I tatted all of the beaded
section first.
After the first side of the beaded section was done,
I then tatted the first half of one end, around to the
other side, then worked my way back joining all
the beads, then tatted the opposite end.
 I love it!!!  :)  I think it's mine!  ;)
Below is a closer up view of the details.
Have an awesome week of tatting everyone!!! :)

Another Twin Cathedral Doilies update

Here they are again.  Ready for row 30 of 33.
Again, they are tatted in size 40 Lizbeth
Rainbow Taffy.
They are sitting on a table which is 4ft. by 2ft.
so...they are almost 2ft. wide.
I wanted a way to set short goals for myself to help
complete them quicker.  I think I found the right thing
to help.  These are Stitchpins (Susan Bates brand)-I
found them at Hobby Lobby and thought they would
help me.  I didn't know how many chains around the
rows until I placed these pins every 10 and there are
96 chains to tat!!!!  But, I try to tat 10 at a time and
it seems to help me get through it much quicker than
just tatting along.
Also, I had mentioned that our daughter is part of
a Pirate Crew and wants to bring things to sell when
they have a vending event, so to add something to
tat for change of pace and color I tatted this cuff
bracelet.  I just made up the design hoping some
pirate lady will like it for an addition to her costume.
And, I have another in mind.
Hope you have a wonderful day and achieve some
tatting too!!! :)

A Spring Ice Drop and a Bracelet

This is Diane's Minty Fudge pattern slightly
modified with "leaves" joining it to the ring.
I had the center Ice Drop done originally,
but accidentally cut a picot and could not
fix it so I cut it off and started again, only
break the thread when closing the final ring
around the gem, so on to try # 3 and here it
is.  :)
Size 40 Lizbeth Rainbow Taffy and Lime
Green Med. with yellow seed beads, and
a yellow bangle bracelet.
And after the first two frustrations with the above
suncatcher, Sunday I took a break and tatted
Wandering Blooms bracelet by Dawn McLaughlin,
pattern link here:
It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Raspberry Frappe with
pink seed beads.
Have a wonderful day of tatting!! :)

I think I am ready for the Craft Show

A few more angels and a bracelet.
And, our daughter is part of a Pirate thing(not sure
what exactly it is, but they hold events and dress up)
She has an event which has vending in it and the
group she is with has a table and she has told them
about my tatting and has been ok'd to bring some to
see if it sells.  She wants me to prepare some items
for a big one sometime in the summer and her
suggestions have been slave bracelets and cuff
bracelets, plus my normal stuff.  Now to fit all that
in with a move this summer-YIKES!!  ;)
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!

Yes, I am still here and have been tatting.

I got a sweet e-mail from Stephanie wondering if
everything was ok since I haven't posted in awhile.
I have been preparing for 2 Craft Shows-one this
Saturday, and another Apr. 13th.
I had this choker done, but needed a way to make
it adjustable and couldn't find anything so I decided
to tat a split ring chain to use.  Ends sewn in and
it's already for packaging.
Next, I had the center of this necklace done also,
but....again a chain was needed and a way for it
to be adjustable, so tatting to the rescue.
Close-up of the beads in the centers.
And, I wanted to tat Jane's Bookmark as a bracelet
and ran short on thread so just finished with a split
ring tail to make it adjustable.  Tatted in size 40
Lizbeth Niagara Falls.
Pattern link here:
*Twin Doily Update: the 2 Rainbow Taffy Cathedral
doilies I have been tatting since last year are on row
25, and the first one I started is at row 28(I believe).
And the tablecloth is accumulating motifs from time
to time.
I am not sure how much tatting will be done through
the spring because we are in a search for a new place
to live and have to move before the end of June.
Will post whatever I can, but just know, I am not giving
up tatting!!!

Test tatted necklace and Test tattings

This is another Elaine P. Gan design.
Exquisite Neckpiece.  I LOVE this one!!!
I want to tat it again, but longer!!!
It's tatted in Lizbeth size 40 Black with seed beads.
Here's the close-up.  Needs some blocking.
I also test tatted 2 bracelet patterns.
One still in progress....
And...one turned into a bookmark.
And....A Rose Heart(revised).
Looks like we are getting a small break from the
frigid temps so life might become a little more
"normal" again.  Hope you have a wonderful
tatting filled Saturday!!! :)

Tatting for the Craft Show and for orders

This necklace is made from a stone that was
in an ugly silver frame necklace that I found
in some jewelry my mom had(and never wore,
I think someone must have given it to her).
The thread is Lizbeth size 40 Spice Cake, and
it's just simple rings and chains. The stone is
heavy.
I also thought some Christmas bracelets would be
nice so I used my Tatted Bugle Bead or Ladder
 design, pattern link here:
These are tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Christmas Delight,
one with silver bugle beads, and the other with gold.
And..at the last Craft Show a lady purchased a pair
of Small Maple Leaf earrings, and I just got a request
from her for 2 more pairs for some friends, and then
she asked if I still had a pair of Christmas Tree earrings
and I did, and she wants to buy them(see them here:
Well, back to tatting and everything else.
Have a wonderful day tatting!!!

Test tatting a bracelet

Ok, it's actually supposed to be a choker, but I
prefer bracelets.  This is Elaine's Trefoil Choker
pattern.  I used size 20 Lizbeth Rainbow Splash.
I plan on wearing it to an All Day Praise we have
this Saturday.  :)
Happy Tatting!!! :)

Finishing a set, and a bracelet

Here's the close-up.
The earrings turned out pretty good.
I found a brown leather cord to go with it and just
need to add a clasp.
The bracelet I test tatted and made for our grand-
daughter was adored by a friend, so...it is now
adult sized and ready for delivery Saturday.
Have a happy tatting day!!! :)
