Tatting, tatting, lilacs, tatting......

Row 8 of my test tatting doily by Elaine P. Gan is 

done, but with problems which have been "fixed" 

after this picture.  And I am on row 9 now.

My daughter gave me many "stones" for Christmas 

so that I can tat around them.  This one is one of my 

favorites.  It's quartz, but it's the shape of this one 

that intrigues me.  This picture has the best chance 

to see the design.  It is somewhat beveled a straight 

light down the center and a "V" shape at the top and 

at the bottom.  The back side only has a straight line 

down the center.

Tatted with size 40 Lizbeth Coral Pink Dk. and 4mm 

crackle glass beads.

The stone below was the reason I bought this thread. 

I thought it matched somewhat, the color of the stone

(which in the picture looks to me like ground beef). I 

don't know what kind of stone this one is, but I thought 

someone would love it.  Same thread and some beads 

which look black, but in the sun have a bluish tint.

My hubby and I love lilacs, but have never had a 

bush of our own.  Last year he found 2(different 

kinds) for 1/2 off the price and we planted them 

and they survived the year(no flowers), but...it looks 

as though we may actually have lilac flowers this 

year!!!

Since my daughter and I signed up to do another 

craft show again this year(Nov.) I NEED to get a 

stock of things or just help her, but I paid for my 

own space, so I NEED to get to work!!  ;)
So, besides the stone pendants above, I tatted a 

bracelet(as you can see the pendants and bracelet 

all need finishing!!!).  This is what I hope it looks 

like when finished. I used Lizbeth size 40 Black 

and Caribbean thread.  The pattern is an alteration 

of Muskaan's

It's not as I expected, but it's nice and I like it! :)

Oh, I saw this online and do you see what 
I see on the top center of the flower???

It LOOKS like picots of tatted lace!!

That caught my attention and I had to share!!

And row 7 of 9 on my test tatting doily is done.
I have started row 8, but it's slow going.

And, now looking at this picture from a distance 

it looks like the pinks make a smiley face in the 

center of the doily.  :)

I finished the row I was working on on my Large 

Triangle Insert and there are 2 more to go.

And I tatted a cross for a lady who said 

light blue is her favorite color.  So I used 

size 40 Lizbeth Niagara Falls.

Weekend Tatting Update:

I finally added (simple) tatting to my 

Dorset button.  I like it.  It almost looks 

like a purple daisy.  ;)

I got row 5 of 9 done on the doily I am test 

tatting for Elaine P. Gan.

Happy to be Test Tatting again!!!

I am test tatting for Elaine P. Gan again and so 

happy!!  I love her designs!  And I have test tatted 

for her for 9 years, and I learned about Elaine in 2013, 

so, it's been 10 years since I first started tatting her designs.

I am using size 40 thread and will wait till it's 

finished to reveal all the colors.  ;)

Another test tatting necklace

This is Elaine P. Gan's Cheery Necklace.
Tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Snow White with (if I 

read the label right) size 6.0 seed beads which are 

pink/blue or pink/purple depending on how you 

at them.

 It needs a chain to finish it.

Hmmm...what am I going to work on tatting next??

A bracelet and earrings

I test tatted another choker for Elaine P. Gan, but I 

liked the design and decided I wanted mine to be 

a bracelet.  ;)

 And, our daughter has a friend visiting and she 

bought a pair of my Ice Drop earrings, and a pair 

of Small Maple Leaf earrings, and then requested 

a pair of the Small Maple Leaf earrings tatted in 

Yarnplayer's Snowflake HDT, so I got busy today 

and here they are!!!  :)

This is another Elaine P. Gan creation.  It's her

 And today we received a couple more items for 

test tatting and of course, I had to tat the cross.

This one tats up fairly quick!  It's called Different 

Cross.  Tatted in size 40 HDT from Tat-i-licious 

called Blue Ridge.

 And, 4 days in a row this week we have had deer 

sightings in our yard.  I was so excited to spot 2 

and then even more excited when I saw they are 

twins and mama was there too.

 They came all the way down that path to our yard 

and paused nicely for a picture....

 then mama came out front to check out the area, 

 and then they headed toward the back of our property 

line, but something spooked them so they darted into 

the woods you see behind them.

More test tatting

Elaine P. Gan did some more designing 

and I was given the opportunity to test 

tat this Mosaic Doily.  I messed up and 

didn't have enough attention so I have 

picots on the outer row which shouldn't 

be there, but otherwise I love this design!!!

and Ocean Teal Med.  Pictured with a pair

Great thing is that this doily is tatted in 

one pass!!

Test tatting again

Elaine P. Gan allowed us to test tat again.  This is 

actually supposed to be a hexagon shaped doily, 

but....I love this look!!!! 

So, I sewed in the ends and left it as is.  ;)
I realized it could be a variety of shapes- a diamond 

if you add a motif to each end, a square if joined 

differently, and I am sure endless other possibilities!

I want to tat it again, but longer!!!

Looks like we are getting a small break from the 

frigid temps so life might become a little more

Tatting and Test Tatting

Ok, I have been in choker mode even though it's 

not my thing.  Our daughter has loved the ones 

I have test tatted for Elaine P. Gan and suggested 

I tat more.  

Also, I was invited to a March Craft 

Show and my family has encouraged me to go.

broke and frustrated me.  ;)

 This is my tatting spot on the livingroom floor 

gaining more and more tatting stuff(I NEED to put 

some away!!!).  In the center of the picture are the 

2 Rainbow Taffy Cathedral Doilies I am tatting.  

They are now each ready for row 22 of 33.

again.  To start I tatted her Simple Heart Earrings

(without the decorative picots) in size 20 Lizbeth

 Then, Gifted Earring(I only did one) in size 20

Now this one is not complete.  I missed 

tatting the top chain because I was 

watching Kids Baking Championship 

with our daughter and got a tad 

distracted just before the end of the 

pattern.  Our daughter thinks this looks 

like a fancy Victorian heart.  ;)

Test tatting & Restocking

I have been able to test tat more for Elaine P. Gan.

I have realized that she must use larger thread 

than I do.  I prefer and have mostly size 40 so..

When I finished the 2 crosses I realized they are 

almost the same size as the photos on the patterns.

Love the designs!

Next, I needed to restock and be prepared to tat for 

next year's Craft Shows, so...he is what I have gotten 

so far.  I do have other items needed, and some were 

on back order so I have to reorder them later.

Lots of thread and beads for all different projects.
