Tatting......

Yep, that is what I am doing.  ;)

Oh, I saw this online and do you see what
I see on the top center of the flower???

It LOOKS like picots of tatted lace!!
That caught my attention and I had to share!!

And row 7 of 9 on my test tatting doily is done.
I have started row 8, but it's slow going.
And, now looking at this picture from a distance
it looks like the pinks make a smiley face in the
center of the doily.  :)

I finished the row I was working on on my Large
Triangle Insert and there are 2 more to go.

And I tatted a cross for a lady who said
light blue is her favorite color.  So I used
size 40 Lizbeth Niagara Falls.
It's Elaine P. Gan's Elpis Cross.

Well, have a wonderful weekend and
get your tatting time in!!  ;)  :)

Tatting along........

I tatted this cross for another senior who
recently joined our Sunday night group.
It's tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Red Burst.
Next, I wanted to empty a shuttle and tried to tat
my own tiny heart design.  It's ok in the picture, but
not to my liking.
Attempting another heart I ended up with this cute
little motif.  It kind of resembles a heart.
Now, this is so far off from what I thought I was
going to tat.  I wanted a bracelet, but when the first
round curled instead of going straight I knew it was
not a bracelet.  I tatted the second round and like it.
Then, trying for a bracelet shape again, I ended up
with a pretty bracelet!!  :)
Tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Coral Med.(I believe).
And, yesterday while out I found these cute turkey
buttons.  They had little signs which said pardon me
and pick him, but I only wanted the turkeys for these
fabric yoyos to put on headbands or barrettes.  Well,
our older granddaughter saw them and wanted to know
how much I wanted for them and I told her I didn't
know yet, and she claimed the bottom right one for
her own and wants it put on a pin.
Her sister has claimed one of our daughter's fabric
pumpkins already.
Well, it's been a long day after a super long sleepless
night and we have to be up in less than 8 hours.  I
am going to try and find sleep again.
Have a wonderful day or night wherever you are,
and get your tatting in!! :)

Needed a cross

I needed a cross tatted for another senior,
and I found 2 already tatted sitting aside
so I have 3 for seniors who haven't gotten
a cross from me yet.
The twin doilies have row 16 done.
I took the picture to show how they curl up like a
bowl after each row is tatted.  And then have to
be made to lie flat( I just push and stretch a little
and sometimes lay something on top overnight).
Here they are next to my Cathedral Doily to
compare row 16 to row 26.
Have a wonderful tat-filled day!!! :)

A Man's Cross

This is for a guy we know.
It's Elaine P. Gan's Hope Cross.
It's tatted in size 40 Adventurer HDT
from Yarnplayer.  I used 2 strands
together to tat with to make it a
larger cross cuz' men aren't crazy
about dainty little things.  ;)
Hope your weekend has been great!
And tatting filled!!! :)

3rd cross done!

This cross is Elaine P. Gan's Mercy Cross.
It's very small in size 40, but I figured
since it's for a man it will be ok(they
don't usually do much with them like
the women do).  It's tatted in size 40
Lizbeth Autumn Apple Pie.
Have a wonderful weekend, and
Happy Tatting!!!  :)

This is Elaine P. Gan's New Cross.
It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Wildflower
Garden.
Not sure it the 3rd one will get done today,
but hoping.
Time for Bible study-can't teach without
study time!!! :)
Happy Tatting!! :)

A completed request

A re-tat for a request.  A friend from
the Sunday morning ministry said she
wanted this cross.  Well....of course I
could not give her the first one with my
(ok, in my view) glaring mistake, so I
tatted her one without the "glaring"
mistake.  I love this!!!
Oh yah, this is the Easter Cross.
Had a friend who had a bad Mother's Day
and she is going to be receiving the Righteous Cross
(which she loved when she saw it on my facebook)
from this post:

Hope your day is going well, and your week too!!
Happy tatting!!!  :)

Another test tat

With...another one of my tatting mistakes.
I LOVE this design.  It's one I have to
pay close attention to due to directional
challenges, but it's worth it!!!
This is another Elaine P. Gan design called
Easter Cross.  It's tatted in Lizbeth size 40
Elderberry Jam.
It will look better when blocked!
Hope your day is going well and that
you have tatting time!!!  :)

Don't look!

This is another test tat for Elaine P. Gan.
This is Life Cross.  The pattern and diagram
were good, but my tatting stinks!!!!!!!
Guess I will have to try again!
Have a great night!  And happy tatting!  :)

2017 25 Motif Challenge #1 Heidi Cross

This is the Heidi Cross from Tatted Bookmarks-
cross-shaped by Lene Bjorn.
It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Scottish Thistle.
This was a challenge because it has a "new to me"
technique-Josephine knots.  I think I did ok, but
I need to work on getting the first one closer to the
previous ring and not to leave bare thread there, and
to work on closing them better-slower is better!!!
I flunked in my 2016   25 Motif Challenge.  I
am starting a 2017   25 Motif Challenge.
Hope your new year is off to a wonderful
tatting start!!!  :)

A Cross

I asked someone their favorite color and she
said black, but I like green too.  So....
She has a black and green cross.
This is Mary Konior's Small Cross from
her Tatting with Visual Patterns book.
It's tatted in Lizbeth size 40 Black and
Yarnplayer's HDT Celery(my favorite
green)!!!  :)
I have worked on the Spring Doily, but
while riding across state Saturday and
tatting I had a small problem closing a ring.
It stopped closing so I tried to straighten out
the curling thread, and succeed 3 times, but
the 4th time the thread snapped, so I have to
take time to take out the partial ring and join
the shuttle thread back and start again.
I also worked on the Christmas Bow edging,
but got tired quickly.
I also had an order for a green pair of my
dreamcatcher earrings which have been
tatted and delivered this weekend, and I
have an order for a rainbow pair.
Happy tatting everyone!!!  :)

Finished the Cross

It needs a little blocking, but it's good otherwise.
It's Elaine P. Gan's Flourish with the Cross design
which I don't believe is released yet, but here is
the link to her Craftsy page where you can
purchase many of her other designs and books:
This is tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Caribbean and Lilac Dk.
Happy tatting and have a wonderful day!!!  :)

A bright cross to brighten someone's day!!! :)

My mother-in-law called me last night
and told me that one of the sweet
senior ladies fell and fractured her
shoulder, and she asked if I would
tat a cross for her.
Here is Elaine P. Gan's Justification Cross.
Rings tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Pineapple Parfait
and chains tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Butterfly Breeze.
It's so pretty!!!  :)
Have a wonderful day!!!
And hopefully some tatting too!!!  :)

A tiny test tat today

Believe it or not this cross is about the size of my pinky finger.
It's a re-design of a cross I adapted from one of Elaine P. Gan's
bracelet patterns.  Elaine saw my adaptation and asked if she
could try it.  And I told her absolutely since it was her pattern
just adapted.  So, this is what she came up with, and
she said she didn't think it looked like a cross, but I told her
it did, even with my very lazy and not good tatting today.
It's in size 40 Lizbeth Salmon Med.
Needing to sew in ends on the "hide & seek" doily tonight
and block next week.
Have a great weekend!!!  Get some tatting in!!!  :)

2 Crosses & updates

Both of today's crosses are from Elaine P. Gan's book #4: http://www.craftsy.com/user/839527/pattern-store?_ct=fqjjuhd-ijehu&_ctp=107500,839527
The first is Love On High in size 40 Lizbeth Coral Splash.
Next, is My Portion in size 40 Lizbeth Sea Island Citrus.
These are for another couple of seniors in our Sunday night group.
Updates:  The final purposely blurred picture project is
done and hopefully will be posted tomorrow.
And the "hide & seek" doily would have had that round done, but hubby
came home unexpectedly and it got "hidden" quick!
So more time needed on it!!!
Have a wonderful, and tatting enhanced day!!!  :)

Getting back to some tatting

This is the Justification Cross from Elaine P. Gan
book 4: purchase here:
It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Tropical Punch.
It's for another senior who just joined our Sunday night group.
She said she didn't really have a favorite color and I thought
spring colors would be nice especially with the snowstorm we
just had yesterday, the colors made it nice to tat in all that gray
and white.
I also put another square on the blue test tatting cross,
but I made another mistake and cut a thread
I wasn't supposed to, so it got set aside till today.
And I am hoping to get that straightened out today,
and then work on the doily since I choose not to venture out
in the weather until I have to.  :)
Hope your day is bright and blessed!!!  :)

When you can't sleep.....Tat!!!

These look big, but they are quite small.  I think this first piece is approx. 1 in. long.
This next piece is probably about 2 1/2 inches tall.
The first is a trial of a diagram Elaine P. Gan showed  us test tatters once and we never did anything with it(I think).  Well, when I couldn't sleep for over 3 hours during the night I remembered the diagram and decided to see if I could try it.  The top trial has a few varied stitch counts on the chains.  And then I took the diagram and put a white piece of paper over it and traced what I could to make a cross out of the straight piece.  And then I spent 2 hours watching a movie and tatting the top of the cross, and then today I finished it.  :)

Update on the doily I started as a secret gift....and another cross

Ok, here is the doily so far that was a secret tatting gift, and is now prayerfully going to get done in time to give to my mother-in-law and her hubby for Christmas.  I believe there are 3 more rounds-2 more easier white ones, and one more of the flower shaped navy blue round(which takes TIME).  There are mistakes throughout this, but I am praying they are not visible.  This first picture was taken with the flash.
 This second without the flash.
And tonight I tatted another of Elaine P. Gan's Victory Cross.
This one is in size 40 Lizbeth Wildflower Garden(and just as small as the last-quarter sized).
It's for another senior lady.
I am hoping to keep myself in as much tatting motion as possible to finish that doily on time!
Hope you have a wonderful tatting time!!!  :)

Test Tatting for Elaine P. Gan again

This absolutely fabulous little cross is from Elaine's new book due to come out soon.
It's her Victory Cross test tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Raspberry Pink Med. and Tropical Punch.
As you can see it's quite small in size 40.  It didn't take long at all to tat(maybe 1/2 hour to an hour).
I love the colors together just like when I mix the Raspberry Pink Med. with Fruit Fizz.  :)
We are expecting quite a snowstorm tonight through Sunday or even Monday they said.  Looks like an average of 4 inches of snow(and there isn't even a trace on the ground or in the air yet).
Had plans to get together with other tatters, but in the interest of safety that has been changed.....looks like I may get to spend some of tomorrow tatting and with the family(which has been a blessing for a day already).  :)
Have a great, safe and warm tatting weekend!!!  :)

Another cross

This cross is Jane's Bookmark Cross link here: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1iu8FAEjaevbGd4R3ZRU1A0VDA/edit
It's tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Rainbow Splash. It's for our current oldest senior(93) on Sunday night.
I tatted this Sunday morning.
I hope you have an awesome day and get to enjoy some tatting too!!  :)
