Tatting and "new to me" Micro-macrame

I tatted a large Ice Drop and turned it into a 

suncatcher for me.

I love being able to see the glitter through the gem.

I tatted another Ice Drop still trying to empty shuttles.

And, another.  I now have 6 empty shuttles-Yay!!!  :D

Below is the first actual micro-macrame project I 

completed.  I used a 1mm cotton cord and found out 

it need to be a waxed cord which is much smaller, but 

I like it for a first.  ;)

And back to tatting, I am tatting a doily designed by 

Elzbieta Jurzysta.  I am hoping it will cheer a friend 

who hasn't been feeling well for about 2 months.

And below is where I am at on the doily now.

And, I am making little bits of progress on my 

Multi-Triangle Triangle.  It will be for the side of 

another shirt(similar to the pink one).  One triangle 

at a time.

Tatting to show

 Well, I sewed in the ends on my doily. I didn't complete it

according to the pattern because I really like it this way. ;)

It's from the Lovely Tatting Doilies for Fall and Winter

by HYE-OON LEE. This is Anya Doily 1.

I only did 8 of the 12 rows because I love it

just like this. I will most likely do Anya Doily 3 another time!!

It calls for size 30 thread, but I used size 10 Fun in the Sun HDT from Custom Cotton Etc. on Etsy, and 2 stands of size 20 Lizbeth Azalea Med.

I also tatted Convolvulus from Mary Konior Tatting in Lace book. And I used the same threads as the doily to empty the shuttle.

I also tatted a cross. The Trefoil Cross by Julie Pinkerton.

I used Lizbeth size 40 Blue River Glades.

I am getting some tatting in. ;) Have a blessed start to your new year!! :)

 I gave in and started a new project!!!!
I have several pages in the Doily books marked and 
and I gave in and started one, but....I didn't tat the 
whole doily because I love it just like this(well, I 
HAVE to sew in ends yet!!).  ;)
This is Anya Doily 1 from Lovely
Tatting Doilies for Fall and Winter.
I only tatted 8 of the 12 rows, and I didn't 
use split rings to climb out because I wanted 
rings a solid color and chains variegated.
I had this Fun in the Sun HDT from Custom 
Cotton Etc on Etsy in size 10(the pattern calls 
for size 30), and the only solid to go with it I 
had in size 20 Lizbeth Azalea Med. which I 
used 2 strands to make it close to size 10.
I love it!!!  :)

During the Christmas weekend I tatted Jennifer Williams 
Flower motif using overlapped picots(aka Ikuta picots).
I used size 20 Lizbeth Snow White and Christmas Red, and 

I made mistakes in the overlapping, but it still looks ok.

I also received my Pop Tops and Epoxy domes, 

and I downloaded my images I purchased and I 

got busy and now I have plenty of Pop Tops ready 

to become Pop Top Drop ornaments for next year!!

And, I bought these gorgeous Solar Quartz cabochons 

I purchased to tat around.  I CAN'T wait to start using 

them!!! ;) I bought them off Etsy for those who are curious.

I think I have tatting ADHD....

Tempted by Pamela Myers and Diane(Lace Lovin' 

Librarian)!!!  They are tatting around "donuts" and 

they are creating such beautiful items that I got 

tempted!!!  I ordered some donuts online.  These are 

glass, and my first ones I didn't really pay attention 

to size and these are really tiny.  I used size 80 thread 

and tiny seed beads.

It's so cute!  :)
I have my shuttle(in the same color scheme) next 

to it for size comparison.

And below, I placed a nickel next to it.  When it 

sits on the nickel they are basically the same size.

And I got Millefiori donuts(about the size of a 

quarter) and tried one today.  I used size 40 thread.
It's such an autumn color scheme.  The donut is 

actually transparent, but I couldn't get a good 

picture while holding it up.

And...look what finally arrived after the mail took 

a scenic detour!!!  Yarnplayer's new Solar Flare!!!
I can't wait to figure out what to tat with it!!!

I have also been tatting another rainbow suncatcher.

I goofed and somehow ended up with the wrong 

purple(compared to all those I have tatted before), 

but it's gonna stay!

And, a few more flowers on my Spring Doily.  I 

am tatting 1 at a time(which has ended up 4 in a day, 

or 2 in a day, but at least one here and there!).

The slowest Spring Doily ever????

Well, I have tatted flower #9!!!
I am so slow!! I am still on round 13. I am giving

 it full attention, but haven't tatted more than 4 in 

one sitting yet.  That's ok, I am not in a race and 

I want it to look great!!  ;)

I hope you are all doing well on whatever you are 

tatting and that you have a tatting filled weekend!!!

 

Slowly paying full attention!!!!

I am NOT rushing this row!!!  I have gotten 5 repeats 

tatted and am very slowly making my way around!

I have some new "toys" to play with and have made 

a start.  I was inspired by the beautiful tatting from 

Lacy Treasures on facebook:

I won't show pictures because I told her since it's 

her design and she has allowed me to tat a similar 

idea that I won't put it online, but go check out her 

beautiful work.  She is from Alaska.
Here are the "toys" I spoke of.  Earrings with rings 

to attach  tatting to and some beads for a project I 

started way back in the hotel and only tatted one.  So, 

there will be new things in my future--hopefully!!!

And, our daughter and I went out yesterday on 

and errand and since my in-laws were not home 

we went and visited Hobby Lobby and the Dollar 

Tree.  Above are the Hobby Lobby purchases all 

were 50% off.  Below are my Dollar Tree purchases 

of course all $1.
I have packs of blank cards to use as thinking of you 

cards to brighten our Sunday seniors' days!!!

I found these new to me Life Saver packs!!  Raspberry, 

Pineapple, and Watermelon!!!

And Precious Moments(I love!!!) cute character 

coloring books!

And, then when we got home I received a DVD I 

have waited a year for the price to come down on!
It was $50 used on Amazon for so long and it came 

down to around $10 and I bought it right away!!

And, our daughter received her package and 

it was 2 "smart" hula hoops.  She is a larger 

girl and needed 2 to make one for her, but it 

left enough for 1 for me.  So, we used these 

odd hula hoops for some fun!!! Mine is in the box 

below that one.  ;)

Well, now that I have bored you with our fun day,

Tatting slowly lately

Row 12 of my Spring Doily done. I sure hope it

straightens out or I will have to block it before

I can continue cuz' that outer edge sure is curling up!!!

I have stretched it a bit by hand, but it stays.  I thought 

it would be great if I had a clear glass plate that would 

sit inside, but I don't, so I have to continue.  ;)

Round 10 of Renulek's Spring Doily done

Well, I made it before the next round is out!

Hope you all had a great weekend with lots of 

tatting, and that this week is filled with tatting!! :)

 

Christmas doily continues! And Large Rainbow Suncatcher update

I have the red section done!  Seems like it took 

forever!!!  ;)  And looking back at my blog it looks 

as though I started the red around Feb. 1 which tells 

me that it took about 2 months, but I tatted lots of 

side projects too!  ;)
Again, this is tatted in size 10 Lizbeth Christmas 

Specialty pack.  And it measures about 20 inches 

across.  One more round to go, but it's another one 

that is like tatting 2 or 3 rows at the same time.  I 

am sure it will be wider than this table when done. 

And I will have to block it into submission if the 

next round doesn't flatten it out!!!

I just finished the tatting part of this large Rainbow 

Suncatcher.  If I do anymore tatting today, I think 

it will be on the tablecloth and then tomorrow the 

Spring doily.  ;)

Saturday tatting!! :)

Round 7 of Renulek's Spring Doily done and I am 

prepared for round 8 and ready to start it.

Our mermaid daughter is creating lots of mermaid 

items and this cute piece wasn't her favorite due to 

a few flaws, but I told her if I added tatting the flaws 

might not be as noticeable.  So, here is the first of a 

few that will be making appearances.  ;)

I also sewed in lots of ends on Pop Top  Drops, 

snowflakes, and Button ornaments.  So now 

they can all finally be put away!  ;)

Just a little tatting..

Tatting is great, but not when your brain is not 

engaged!!!  Sunday I woke up at 3am, yesterday 

at 5am, and today at 4am and I am NOT a morning 

person!!!
So, tatting has been slow, but some progress has 

been made.  Renulek's Spring Doily has the start 

of round 7.

My suncatcher has the first of 2 green rounds.

My snowflake pattern has been test tatted by me 

and a tatting friend.  She has been a wonderful 

help to make sure it's correct!!

size 40 Toodles from Graceful Arts Handpaint.

In size 40 it is the same size as the diagram in the book

(only half shown so I don't show the counts and such).

Finally 1/3

Oh man this round seems to be taking forever!!!
I like that it seems to be filling up space for 

about 5 rows, but.....it seems like it takes that 

much longer to get around!!! ;)
It's going to be a nice large doily for Christmas 

when done!!!

I believe this ball of thread was new when I started 

and I wound my Tatsy shuttle full to start and as you 

can see, I have used a lot just for 1/3 of the round.
I took out another ball because I am sure I will NEED 

it!!  ;)

Growing a Spring Doily!! ;)

I just got row 3 of Renulek's 2021 Spring Doily done.

I am tatting mine in size 40 threads. So far starting from

the center out I have Lizbeth Boysenberry Dk., Yarnplayer's

HDT Brilliant Sunset, and Lizbeth Golden Honey.

I can't wait to get the next row!!

My Christmas doily progress

Well, I have gotten some tatting done.
I will post all the info on this doily when done 

so I don't have to carry the book and such to my 

computer(still having troubles getting around).
I am using size 10 Lizbeth Christmas specialty 

pack I purchased quite some time ago.

I am trying to include all the colors(5).

I believe the next row will take forever because it 

looks like you tat what would be 5 or 6 rows  out-

ward and then come back to the doily and do it 

over and over.  We shall see when I get to the 

directions(hopefully I get them right!!!).

Tatting is about all I can do....

for awhile.  I am now equipped with 

hardware(crutches).  Bloodclots in Feb. 

and again 3 weeks after 6 months of treat-

ment a 2nd set of bloodclots in Sept. and 

then Sunday night I step into the shower 

and go for a "trip"(the rubber mat didn't 

stick to the floor and I slid right away). 

We thought I had a broken leg, but thank-

fully nothing is broken, but everything 

hurts!!  ;)  Oh well, what can you do when 

you can't do anything??

me.  I can't wait to send it to her!!

And this doily was going to be a Christmas present 

for my hubby, but I don't have time to get it done so,
