Baby Girl Suncatcher

 Well, it's done.

It is not quite what I wanted for the outer ring, 

but, I am learning.  ;)  At least it sparkles!!  :)

Finishing projects slowly

 The earrings are finished!!!

And the baby girl suncatcher is ready for 

finishing touches!!! :)

And, I am glad we used our Christmas stuffed characters 

to make our Christmas tree cute because our lights have 

been delayed another 2 weeks.  Oh well, at least it's cute!!!

Progress being made

 I just finished another row on my
baby girl suncatcher.  Another row
about ready to be started.

I have also been tatting an Ice Drop Suncatcher.

New project in the works

 I wanted to wait until this was finished to show it,
but....I love it so much already I had to share!!  ;)

The pictures are all of the same project, but differ
just slightly in view.

And to show size...so far.

I love the characters which are supposed to be on a slight 

diagonal from each other..will work on that later.

New Suncatcher color

I just finished this suncatcher for a 

person who wanted something other 

than a rainbow.

I thought a watermelon suncatcher 

would be nice, so here it is ready to 

go tomorrow.

It's another 8 inch suncatcher.  I used 

size 40 Lizbeth Juicy Watermelon, 

Christmas Red and Christmas Green Mix 

threads with size 12/0 clear glass seed 

beads and size 11/0 red, green, and 

black(for the "seeds") seed beads.

 I am working on another Rainbow in
the clouds suncatcher.  And hoping to
work on a new idea.

3- 8 inch Suncatchers

I had 2-  8 inch suncatchers in my Etsy shop and 

they sold out right away, so I have spent the last 2 

weeks + tatting to replace them.  

Here is the Rainbow Suncatcher.

Here is the Rainbow in the Clouds Suncatcher.

Below is a slight variation of the 

Rainbow Suncatcher(a slight difference 

in the beads).

I am currently working on a requested 

suncatcher of a different color combo.

Rainbow in the Clouds suncatcher

I had an idea and decided to tat it and 

see.  I thought white with rainbow beads 

would look great and it does, so I call it 

Rainbow in the Clouds-white clouds  with 

a rainbow of beads.  ;)
Again, it's Elaine P. Gan's Cathedral Doily-

the first 13 rows of her doily, and it's tatted 

in size 40 Lizbeth Snow White with seed 

beads.

I have a regular Rainbow suncatcher in 

progress and thousands of things swirling 

in my head while several project sitting 

unfinished.....some day, some time.  ;)

Another bangle bracelet suncatcher

I love creating suncatchers!!!!  :)

That make me happy and I love the 

sparkle!!!
This is tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Island 

Breeze.  Our daughter picked the pink 

acrylic ring to draw more of the pink 

color out since it seems dominated by 

the blue.  I think it was a good choice.

We get to start having our church groups 

together again.  We are outside for both 

groups for the first time and the temperature 

is supposed to be 92 degrees F.  Please pray 

that it's not too hot or humid, especially for 

our seniors!!  I would cancel, but they have 

been alone so long I don't think they would 

forgive me!!!

Suncatcher time

I had an order for a rainbow suncatcher 

so it's done and gone.
This one is a bit different, but then again, 

so far I think only 2 are the same.  ;)

And, I wanted to tat one of my acrylic 

"donuts" into the center of a suncatcher.

I went simple and I really like how it 

turned out.
Both suncatchers are tatted in size 40 

Lizbeth threads. The one below is Sea 

Island Citrus.

I think I have tatting ADHD....

Tempted by Pamela Myers and Diane(Lace Lovin' 

Librarian)!!!  They are tatting around "donuts" and 

they are creating such beautiful items that I got 

tempted!!!  I ordered some donuts online.  These are 

glass, and my first ones I didn't really pay attention 

to size and these are really tiny.  I used size 80 thread 

and tiny seed beads.

It's so cute!  :)
I have my shuttle(in the same color scheme) next 

to it for size comparison.

And below, I placed a nickel next to it.  When it 

sits on the nickel they are basically the same size.

And I got Millefiori donuts(about the size of a 

quarter) and tried one today.  I used size 40 thread.
It's such an autumn color scheme.  The donut is 

actually transparent, but I couldn't get a good 

picture while holding it up.

And...look what finally arrived after the mail took 

a scenic detour!!!  Yarnplayer's new Solar Flare!!!
I can't wait to figure out what to tat with it!!!

I have also been tatting another rainbow suncatcher.

I goofed and somehow ended up with the wrong 

purple(compared to all those I have tatted before), 

but it's gonna stay!

And, a few more flowers on my Spring Doily.  I 

am tatting 1 at a time(which has ended up 4 in a day, 

or 2 in a day, but at least one here and there!).

Back to tatting!

I haven't tatted as much lately.  Lots of 

stresses, and I didn't want to tat while 

stressed and mess things up!!!
So, the tatting that I have done has been 

adding a motif at a time to the tablecloth.

I finally got this mermaid suncatcher done!

I am so happy with it.  The design will need 

work cuz' it sags a little in the center, but it's 

ok.  I love how pretty it is in size 40 Lizbeth 

Coral Splash(my friend, Denise's new favorite!)!!
This suncatcher is 6 inches.

I wish the cameras could have captured all the 

beauty while in the sunlight!  The center glows 

as you can see, and the tiny yellow beads show 

up, but the large beads don't show their brilliant 

glow as much as they do in real life!!
Either way, I am pleased with it being another 

original!

2 Stops at Hobby Lobbys

After reading some posts from tatters in a facebook 

group about finding Lizbeth thread at a great price 

I decided when I had to go to the bigger town to 

check and see if I could find any deals.  Well, 

the first store had nothing.  The second store had 

a shuttle I don't use and 7 balls of thread.

And then I hit a 3rd store on the way home in my 

"home" town and found 4 more balls of thread.  Yay!!

2 days ago we woke up to snow!!  That's Michigan 

for you, we can have snow any month!!

Three hours later, you would think it was a spring 

day. 

Today Tollway Tatters got "together" again and it 

was great to see what everyone was working on!! 
I worked on a mermaid suncatcher I am making. I 

got the outer row done today and have a bit more. 

It will probably end up a 6 inch suncatcher when 

completed.  I am loving the Lizbeth Coral Splash 

with this one.  It's size 40 if you are wondering. ;)

A different colored suncatcher

I just finished this suncatcher.  It's  for 

a friend.  Tatted in size 40 Lizbeth 

Purple Iris Dk. and Rainbow Taffy.

It's another 8 inch suncatcher.
I really like how it turned out.
I need to try other colors!!!  :D

Christmas doily continues! And Large Rainbow Suncatcher update

I have the red section done!  Seems like it took 

forever!!!  ;)  And looking back at my blog it looks 

as though I started the red around Feb. 1 which tells 

me that it took about 2 months, but I tatted lots of 

side projects too!  ;)
Again, this is tatted in size 10 Lizbeth Christmas 

Specialty pack.  And it measures about 20 inches 

across.  One more round to go, but it's another one 

that is like tatting 2 or 3 rows at the same time.  I 

am sure it will be wider than this table when done. 

And I will have to block it into submission if the 

next round doesn't flatten it out!!!

I just finished the tatting part of this large Rainbow 

Suncatcher.  If I do anymore tatting today, I think 

it will be on the tablecloth and then tomorrow the 

Spring doily.  ;)

Some updates

Here is what I worked on this weekend.

I tatted a "chain" for the mermaid pendant and

added beads to imitate bubbles.

I did a zig zag chain(3 first half stitches

and then 3 second half stitches) and I

added some beads our daughter got

that resemble bubble and match the

thread perfectly.

My Christmas doily has about 5 hours more work on this

round. I timed myself tatting one section up and it

takes me a 1/2 hour and then another 1/2 hour down,

so that is how I have estimated my hours to finish this

round. ;)

My Spring doily continues to grow one week at a time.

I also tatted another round on my rainbow suncatcher. Only 2 rows of red left to tat with a total of 288 beads

in just those 2 finishing rows(I already have them

strung and ready to tat!!) ;)

Just a little tatting..

Tatting is great, but not when your brain is not 

engaged!!!  Sunday I woke up at 3am, yesterday 

at 5am, and today at 4am and I am NOT a morning 

person!!!
So, tatting has been slow, but some progress has 

been made.  Renulek's Spring Doily has the start 

of round 7.

My suncatcher has the first of 2 green rounds.

My snowflake pattern has been test tatted by me 

and a tatting friend.  She has been a wonderful 

help to make sure it's correct!!

just ordered as soon as I saw it online!!
