Just a little tatting..

Tatting is great, but not when your brain is not
engaged!!!  Sunday I woke up at 3am, yesterday
at 5am, and today at 4am and I am NOT a morning
person!!!
So, tatting has been slow, but some progress has
been made.  Renulek's Spring Doily has the start
of round 7.
My suncatcher has the first of 2 green rounds.
My snowflake pattern has been test tatted by me
and a tatting friend.  She has been a wonderful
help to make sure it's correct!!

Have a wonderful tatting filled day!!! :)

I tatted another tiny beaded snowflake last night(see previous post)

One correction to make on the last post is that
these are tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Blue Ice(not
Snow White as I said in the last post).  Only the
white showed up in the first snowflake and it didn't
occur to me that it was Blue Ice I was working with.
But....this really tiny snowflake shows the blue
beautifully and corrected me!  ;)
The beads on this one are even smaller than the
ones on the first snowflake and they make the
snowflake smaller than the first.
Here they are side by side to show the difference.
Hope your day is filled with joy and tatting!!! :)

Wow!!! I am still tatting and still inspired!!!

After little sleep due to a mouse invasion(it's been
happening for a few weeks now-exterminator coming
tomorrow!!!!!!) and a doctor's appointment, I came
home and just sat and searched aimlessly online.  I was
looking at tatting, but saw a picture of a beaded snow-
flake and was inspired to recreate it in tatting.
It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Snow White with tiny
blue beads.
Picture below is the inspiration.
It's the size of my pointer finger tip.
And the size of an American penny.
I need to buy more tiny blue beads, because these
are almost out, but this brand
is no longer so I have to find new ones.
Hope you have a wonderful time tatting!!! :)

Lil' David's Snowflake

Still recovering from a cold.  Wanted to join Tollway
Tatters today, but even they had to cancel due to
weather concerns, so I decided to put on my tie-dye
shirt and tat and then post a picture to the group
facebook page.
I worked on Harolah's snowflake.  Link here:
I like it, but I  messed up right away on the center split rings
stitch count, and am wayyyy to lazy to undo them or
start over, so I pressed on and continued tatting.
I like it-it NEEDS blocking!!!
Tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Snow White. with
purple bugle beads, gold seed beads, and purple
seed beads(not quite the match I thought).
Hope you had a great day and got some tatting in!!

Tatting and house update.

I have tatted Yarnplayer's Arches doily before(here:
and loved it.  Although, I tatted it in size 40 then and
now in size 20-Lizbeth Coral Splash and Snow
White.
Just to let everyone know the white row which looks
bunched does have overlapping under the large rings
and it happened in the first one I tatted also.
 Next, I tatted Yarnplayer's Snowflake-pattern here:
https://www.keepandshare.com/doc/8193376/tatted-star-and-snowflake-pdf-843k?da=y
I have been working slowly on Ninetta's Treble Tatting
Stitch and learning!!!  I started with size 40, then
size 20, and went to the store and got size 3(very
limited selection-5 solid colors to choose from).
I think it was my best idea!!!  I think my stitches
are more even and work out much better!!
I have the first and second(small rings which didn't
close well) rows of a trial piece
tatted and think it looks pretty good.
And, just got done with this snowflake below.

As for the house....frustration is the only word I have!
It's got the cinder blocks under it and a special coating
on them and now as the picture shows the dirt is all the
way up to the house.  The inside is not done and things
have been delayed again, this time by the electric
company and the contractor.  We were told electric would
be connected to the house Nov. 1, but were just informed
that has been changed to Nov. 6 due to the contractor not
doing his job.  Oh man!!!!  It could be Christmas before
we get to move in!!!
Hope you are all doing well and having a great day
and getting your tatting fill!!  :)

Tatted a snowflake & earrings

I tatted this snowflake in size 20 Lizbeth Snow White.
Love the snowflake!!!  Missed a join, but will sew
it together later.
What a way to start autumn with a snowflake!!  ;)

I saw some earrings somewhere online and they inspired
me so I decided to try and tat something similar
(no pattern or picture just remembering). Well, I did the
first part and thought they needed something more so
I added a round of chains and I like them. They are tatted
in size 40 Lizbeth Juicy Watermelon with tiny black beads
(to represent watermelon seeds).
First picture, the inspiration pair, second my addition, and third for size.

Have a great day!!  :)
Oh, update for those following our housing/land
situation.  According to others our cement is laid
for the foundation.  And, according to the mobile
home dealers the house is scheduled to be delivered
Oct. 1, and supposedly there is a chance that we can
move in on Oct. 19(we shall see).

Plenty to show tonight

Here is the mat that I started.  I need to sew in the
ends and block it, but it's done!! :)
Here it is on the printer paper to show size.
Tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Falling Leaves.
The tiny doily is done.  It's 4 inches across in
size 40 Lizbeth Orange Crush.
Here it is on the pocket notebook for size.
I have a friend who makes fabric yoyos for her
sister and niece for projects.  I thought it would
be cool to make some yoyos, add tatting and put
on barrettes or headbands.  Well, since there isn't
much to do here, I asked our daughter to help me
and she did all these after I showed her how to do
the first, and then she was inspired with project
ideas of her own, so, you may see the finished
ideas soon.  ;)
 I made the yoyos below.
She left me have one of hers for this
Ice Drop embellishment.
I emptied shuttles making small motifs to add to
some of the yoyos.
Today, our daughter, Sarah, made these 2 yoyo
pumpkins(and another later).  Super cute.  Later
when I get access to my tatting threads, I will tat
leaves for them.
Then I tatted a snowflake. I found the pattern when
searching google and it came from pinterest.  The
designer is DorARTthea.
And today I tatted this angel by designer Nicola
Gooday Bowersox at Just-Tatting on Facebook.
It's called Julie's Angel.
Hope you all have had a great day!!!
Happy Tatting all!!! :)

Another snowflake

I am still working on snowflakes for my 2nd
wreath.  This is Snowflake adapted from 5-point
star by Sandy from 2018 Handy Hands Catalog.
Tatted in size 20 it is the size of the picture in
the catalog.
I tatted this while taking apart a "mountain" in
our room yesterday(I needed the break often!!).
Hope you are having a wonderful day!!! :)

Well, it's still progressing!!
All the threads are Lizbeth size 40.  These last 2
rows are Sea Island Citrus.
It measures 1 foot across.
Here is a picture for size comparison.
Have a wonderful tat-filled day!! :)
*********************************************
Well, I also got a test tatted snowflake done today!

2017 25 Motif Challenge # 13 Marie's pattern sorted out

I saw this beautiful pattern and had thread left from
my Ice Drop earrings so I decided to try it.  A ton
of beads and lots of thought, plus trial and error
has produced this beautiful Snowflake-link here:
I knew how to get the "diamond" of beads on the
tops of the rings and chains, but the tricky part was
trying to figure out how to get the "diamonds" at
the base of the rings.  I took photos of what I did.
On the first chain(not pictured) I slid 2 beads from
the ball thread and one from the shuttle.
From then on it was like this....Before starting a
ring, slide a bead from the shuttle up to the end of
the chain.
And....slide 4 beads into ring, 3 for the top diamond
and one for the bottom of the ring, while holding the
other bead at the end of the chain(between my finger
and thumb).
Tat your first stitch of the ring close to the bead at
the end of the chain(which holds it in place), then
continue tatting your ring.
For those who don't know how to do the diamond
at the top of the ring, slide 3 of the beads(from around
the ring) to the top near the finger and thumb, and
one bead from the shuttle.
Tat your next ds to draw the beads into the diamond
shape, and continue with your ring.
When closing the ring, it was best for me to hold the
bottom bead to the left and pull closed slowly.
Now, as you see in the above picture you have 2
beads of the bottom of the ring diamond in place,
so next slide one bead from the ball, and one from
the shuttle into place, and tat the first part of your
chain.
Next, make another diamond(this time on the top
of the chain-which is like the top of the ring) slide
3 beads from the ball and one from the shuttle into
place.
Then tat the next half of the chain
Now, we slide a bead from the shuttle up to the
chain again and continue working the snowflake.
 And, It's beautiful!!  :)
**Oh, I tatted the last chain and cut and tied it
between the bottom and side beads of the final
diamond.
And for size, it's smaller than a bangle bracelet,
was hoping to make it a suncatcher.
Tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Honey Drizzle with
golden beads.
Happy tatting everyone!!! :)

Next ornament in progress.

I love the look just like this(ok, with the ends
sewn in) !! :)  This one is obviously in Snow
White Lizbeth going to go on a red glass
ornament.  This still needs the outer round, but
I stopped to see if this would fit one of the
smaller ornaments-I think it will!  :)   So, that
will be one of my next tries.  ;)
Oh...guess I should say this is the same as the
one 2 posts ago from yesterday-the red one.
Have a wonderful day with lots of tatting!! :)

A Snowflake in April

We were expecting snow 2 days ago, but it missed
us and that is ok with most everyone here.
I have gotten some tatting done, this snowflake
is another Robin Perfetti design-the Design Tutorial Snowflake, link here:
It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Snow White.
I failed to make it as beautiful as it should be due
to my not so good Josephine Knots.  I just can't get
them nice.  It was going to be another ornament
cover, but the center is a little snug.  So, it will
just stay a snowflake.  :)
I have also added about 6 more motifs to the tablecloth.
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend, and I hope
your Palm Sunday is blessed!!!  :)

First Snowfall

No, thankfully it's not snowing here.
The title refers to another one of Robin Perfetti's
snowflakes called First Snowfall, link here:
it's getting ready to become another ornament cover.
You really ought to check out her other beautiful
patterns.  :)  This one is tatted in size 40 Lizbeth
Snow White and is the same size as the picture on
the printed pattern(amazing!).  And I added some
other items for size comparison.  The next one will
have the center rings omitted for the top of the ornament.
And below is my show model!  Isn't this the most
adorable colored bunny??  There was a Build-a-Bear
ad on my facebook(the only add worth looking at)
with the cutest colored stuffed animals, and this little
bunny was in front.  I told our daughter about it and
she immediately ordered it for me(without me knowing,
so.....Saturday I was "bouncing" around with joy over
owning this adorable little bunny!!!  :)
So, now I have 2 Build-a-Bear characters:
Rudolph the red-nosed Reindeer, and this
Bunny(gotta name it yet!).  :)
Have a wonderful day tatting!!! :)
