Up since 4am and some tatting done..

These are the Confetti discs that I am tatting around 

for the wreath.  I am currently working on a large one 

for an ornament.

 Below are the two I have for the wreath.  These are 

the small discs.  I love the reflection feature!!

 I am currently deciding on how I want the items 

on the wreath, and then when I figure it out I will 

wire them to the wreath.  The ribbon in the center 

will be made into a bow.

 I had test tatted Robin's Wave Bookmark and showed 

it to my friends on facebook and it was promptly 

claimed, and then another friend also claimed it, so 

I had to tat a second.  It has a longer tassel than the 

first.  I also think it's tatted better-practice makes 

perfect.  ;)

Well, on to other things if my brain will let me.

I finished test tatting another of Robin Perfetti's 

bookmarks.  This one is Fancy Bookmark.

Tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Boysenberry Dk.
I should have used smaller picots in the center 

joins, but it's noted for next time.

And....I changed the bow on the wreath

(and added another snowflake and snowman).

I personally think it works better.  I am 

saving the other bow and planning on 

doing a wreath(maybe not this year) with 

the darker blues.  ;)

My personal challenge has been put aside too long

Well....after getting the last ornament done I saw a 

snowflake sitting by some patterns I wanted to try 

to tat for ornaments.  So, I tatted the second snowflake 

today joining it to the other and then around the 

glass ornament.  

I love it!!!

 This is Robin Perfetti's Design Tutorial Snowflake. 

The centers of the snowflakes are on the top and 

bottom of the ornament.

 It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Snow White.

 My stand(the challenge is to fill the stand with 

tatted ornaments by Christmas-I am only 1/3 

of the way).

I have been watching Christmas movies 

(and today a Thanksgiving movie) to keep 

me inspired!! :)

Working on my personal challenge again

I started a different piece, but it wasn't working for

It's tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Christmas Delight.

I didn't do it justice because I used just 1 shuttle 

and a ball, but I believe it should be tatted with 2 

shuttles.  I have another to make and then I can 

post what I am doing with it.  :)

A Snowflake in April

We were expecting snow 2 days ago, but it missed 

us and that is ok with most everyone here. 

I have gotten some tatting done, this snowflake

It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Snow White.  

I failed to make it as beautiful as it should be due 

to my not so good Josephine Knots.  I just can't get 

them nice.  It was going to be another ornament 

cover, but the center is a little snug.  So, it will 

just stay a snowflake.  :)

I have also added about 6 more motifs to the tablecloth.

Personal challenge # 6

Well, Robin's First Snowfall Snowflake makes an 

elegant ornament decoration(as long as you have 

the right sized ornament and don't cut the ends so 

short that they come undone).

As stated, the top is the same snowflake as the 

bottom with the center rings omitted.

 It's very loose on the ornament and I have to re-adjust 

it each time I pick it up, but I think it's great otherwise!

Below is a picture of the bottom which is the whole 

snowflake.

 Here is the stand with 6 ornaments now(all for me since 

I have many errors in several).  I am a quarter through 

this challenge!!

 And, for anyone wondering size, this stand 

is as tall as our loveseat, and the Snowman 

suncatcher I am creating is half the size of 

this stand(more tatting will be added to 

the snowman in time).  :)

First Snowfall

No, thankfully it's not snowing here.

it's getting ready to become another ornament cover. 

You really ought to check out her other beautiful 

patterns.  :)  This one is tatted in size 40 Lizbeth 

Snow White and is the same size as the picture on 

the printed pattern(amazing!).  And I added some 

other items for size comparison.  The next one will 

have the center rings omitted for the top of the ornament.

 And below is my show model!  Isn't this the most 

adorable colored bunny??  There was a Build-a-Bear 

ad on my facebook(the only add worth looking at) 

with the cutest colored stuffed animals, and this little 

bunny was in front.  I told our daughter about it and 

she immediately ordered it for me(without me knowing,

so.....Saturday I was "bouncing" around with joy over 

owning this adorable little bunny!!!  :)

So, now I have 2 Build-a-Bear characters:

Rudolph the red-nosed Reindeer, and this 

Bunny(gotta name it yet!).  :)

Green Snowflake??

since it's in green and tatted in March I will call it 

the early spring snowflake.  It is a fabulously

 designed snowflake, and it will soon be an ornament 

decoration when I tat it's twin.  :)

Oops, I forgot to say that I omitted the center rings 

so that it will fit over the ornament top and it 

didn't take 2 shuttles that way, now I am thinking 

that I should make the next one with the center 

rings for the bottom....decisions!

2015 25 Motif Challenge # 15 Tina Frauberger Bookmark

I saw this gorgeous bookmark that Robin Perfetti had done and wanted to tat it.  

I didn't do it as well as I would like, but I think I did ok for a first try, and I need to learn those Catherine wheel joins(I tried!).  The Pattern is here:   http://tattingbythebay.blogspot.com/2015/08/polished.html  .

This is tatted in size 20 Sugar Plum HDT from Tat-ilicious, 

and Lizbeth Ocean Teal Med.

I think if I block it then it would lay nicer, but I just finished it and need some sleep,

so it's right from the shuttles.

Guess I should say it's about 4 inches long and about 2 inches wide.

Well, another challenge piece done.  Plenty more to do!!
