Row 11 done

Renulek's 2021 Spring Doily.
I have about 1/4 of row 12 started already.
I also have 3 points of the final row on my Christmas
Doily started.  This pattern has given me some fits at
the beginning and now the end, but I am getting it(I
think).  ;)
I REALLY need to learn to work with downward
joins!!!!!  I tried when I started the red row, but
forgot when I picked it up and had too much done
to go back and correct it, and now with this, I am
NOT changing it!!!  Too much frustration!

Have a wonderful tatting filled week!!! :)

Some updates

Here is what I worked on this weekend.
I tatted a "chain" for the mermaid pendant and
added beads to imitate bubbles.
I did a zig zag chain(3 first half stitches
and then 3 second half stitches) and I
added some beads our daughter got
that resemble bubble and match the
thread perfectly.
My Christmas doily has about 5 hours more work on this
round. I timed myself tatting one section up and it
takes me a 1/2 hour and then another 1/2 hour down,
so that is how I have estimated my hours to finish this
round. ;)
My Spring doily continues to grow one week at a time.
I also tatted another round on my rainbow suncatcher. Only 2 rows of red left to tat with a total of 288 beads
in just those 2 finishing rows(I already have them
strung and ready to tat!!) ;)
I hope you have a tatting filled week and lots
of joy!!! :)

Tatting along......

Making progress.
Renulek's Spring Doily.

The Christmas Doily.
My tablecloth.

And, my mother-in-law asked me to tat her a
suncatcher like the one I made her for Christmas-
the large rainbow one.  So, I started it.

And, I just got my Lizbeth Specialty pack I
just ordered as soon as I saw it online!!
So, I am keeping busy tatting!!!
Hope you are enjoying some tatting too!! :)

Doilies and a button ornament

I started Renulek's 2021 Spring Doily.
Too many things going, but temptation has
overtaken me!!!  :)
I am using size 40 Yarnplayer's HDT Brilliant Sunset
and Lizbeth Boysenberry Dk.(so far).
I had made a mistake and only tatted 6 rings in
the center, and thought it was correct, until...
I noticed after "completing" the second round
that it was supposed to be 8.  Thankfully the
fix wasn't too bad since I just untied the threads
on both rounds and added and finished both.
I work on the Christmas doily often, but it's slow
moving since it's like tatting 5 or 6 rounds at a
time.  I do like it!! :)
(Those pretty earring looking gems off on
the left are some my daughter has asked me
to make into earrings for her).
I have the book I am tatting my Christmas
doily from.  Here is it.

And below is the picture of the doily in the book.
Next, I just had to play with an idea in my
mind for button tatting.  It works, but can be a bit
tough when closing the front rings.  ;)
Front:
Tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Sea Island Citrus.
Back:

Oh, and our daughter gave me these
from a craft pack she got.  They are
large sequins.  Something new to tat
around or with.  ;)
Well, that should be enough for now.
Hope you all have a tatting filled week!! :)

Another Twin Cathedral Doilies update

Here they are again.  Ready for row 30 of 33.
Again, they are tatted in size 40 Lizbeth
Rainbow Taffy.
They are sitting on a table which is 4ft. by 2ft.
so...they are almost 2ft. wide.
I wanted a way to set short goals for myself to help
complete them quicker.  I think I found the right thing
to help.  These are Stitchpins (Susan Bates brand)-I
found them at Hobby Lobby and thought they would
help me.  I didn't know how many chains around the
rows until I placed these pins every 10 and there are
96 chains to tat!!!!  But, I try to tat 10 at a time and
it seems to help me get through it much quicker than
just tatting along.
Also, I had mentioned that our daughter is part of
a Pirate Crew and wants to bring things to sell when
they have a vending event, so to add something to
tat for change of pace and color I tatted this cuff
bracelet.  I just made up the design hoping some
pirate lady will like it for an addition to her costume.
And, I have another in mind.
Hope you have a wonderful day and achieve some
tatting too!!! :)

Hope you are having a wonderful day of tatting!! :)

Tatting and Test Tatting

Ok, I have been in choker mode even though it's
not my thing.  Our daughter has loved the ones
I have test tatted for Elaine P. Gan and suggested
I tat more.
Also, I was invited to a March Craft
Show and my family has encouraged me to go.
So....I thought about the Spiral Bookmark pattern
as a choker for teens.  Pattern link here:
https://www.scribd.com/doc/7305076/Spiral-Bookmark-1
Tatted in Lizbeth size 20 Ocean Teal Med. & Snow
White.
Next, I started Jane's Bookmark for another possible
choker -pattern here:
Tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Niagara Falls.  It is now
sitting because, while closing a ring the thread
broke and frustrated me.  ;)
This is my tatting spot on the livingroom floor
gaining more and more tatting stuff(I NEED to put
some away!!!).  In the center of the picture are the
2 Rainbow Taffy Cathedral Doilies I am tatting.
They are now each ready for row 22 of 33.
And, I have been test tatting for Elaine P. Gan
(she has a blog now-  https://mytattingbox.blogspot.com/ )
again.  To start I tatted her Simple Heart Earrings
(without the decorative picots) in size 20 Lizbeth
Ocean Teal Med.
Then, Gifted Earring(I only did one) in size 20
Lizbeth Snow White.
Then Acorn Earring(I only did one).
Now this one is not complete.  I missed
tatting the top chain because I was
watching Kids Baking Championship
with our daughter and got a tad
distracted just before the end of the
pattern.  Our daughter thinks this looks
like a fancy Victorian heart.  ;)
Tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Elderberry Jam.
And, then I tatted Tear Drop Earring.
I think I love the Acorn and Tear Drop
Earrings best so far!!!  :)
This is tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Snow
White.
I am test tatting the earrings using up
thread on shuttles to clear a bunch of shuttles.
I hope you are tatting productively
especially if you are stuck inside in the
frigid temps some of us are experiencing.
Have a wonderful and warm tatting day!!! :)
***********
Just finished another test tatted earring.
This one is the Exquisite Earring.
Tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Black.

Overlapping.....

Continuously tatting away on the twin doilies.
Row 19 is now finished on both.  One has about
1/2 the ends sewn in, and I am still working on
angels(even got 2 more size 80 colors to add), a
set of wings is waiting for the body of the dress.
I NEEDED a changed which would be quick so
I tried this cute Medallion with overlapping chains
by Jennifer Williams  link here:
The first one turned out so pretty(and I corrected
the error in the bottom).  It's not very big in size
40 thread.  And then I decided to tat another(picture
below) and it went so much quicker now that I
know what I am doing!!!
Hope you are having a tatful day!!! :)

Tatting along...........

The twin doilies have row 18 of 33 done now(plenty
of ends need sewing in!!!).
Looking from above I see a spiral swirl in the left
one!!  ;)
My tatting area on the livingroom floor is pretty
clean and organized at the moment-trying to fulfill
orders for these doilies and for angels!!
It's cleaned up because our granddaughters were
here last  weekend and I didn't want to have a
disaster happen to my tatting projects(play gets a
bit rough some times), and they have been home
since Monday.
But...today we figured out how we could video chat
and I got a kick out of it when the younger one saw
me tatting while chatting and I hear "Yay Grandma's
tatting!!!!"  ;)  That's enough to make you smile!!!
Have a truly wonderful day, and I hope you get
some tatting in!!! :)
