Test tatting again

Elaine P. Gan allowed us to test tat again.  This is
actually supposed to be a hexagon shaped doily,
but....I love this look!!!!
So, I sewed in the ends and left it as is.  ;)
I realized it could be a variety of shapes- a diamond
if you add a motif to each end, a square if joined
differently, and I am sure endless other possibilities!
Tatted in Yarnplayer's size 40 HDT(hand dyed thread)
Tigereye, and Nitty Gritty.
I wanted an autumn doily and now I have one!!!  :)
Working on more projects.
Hope you have a wonderful tatting filled day!!  :)

Tatted bookmark? And Angel ring

I was able to test tat a bookmark for Elaine P. Gan,
but...I used size 40 thread and clearly she must use
a larger size because you can see it isn't bookmark size.
I tatted it with my Snowflake Shuttle, and used
Yarnplayer's Snowflake HDT-so beautiful!!!
I might tat 2 more of these joining to the end to
make a better sized bookmark.
I have the most awesome shuttles ever!!!!
I special ordered them from Rita at Shuttle by Design:
I love them, and there may be more on the way!
I also tatted West Pine Creations Angel Ring,
 link here:
I used size 40 Lizbeth Christmas Red and Snow White,
and adjusted the stitch count which made it look
different than hers, but our daughter loves it!!
Have a wonderful Saturday!!! :)

Tollway tatting fun and new HDT!!!

I got to join the Tollway Tatters today!!!  And a
friend who is a new tatter and only knows rings
currently came along.  We had such a great time!!!
I didn't get many pictures today, but just know,
it was worth not worrying about pictures!!
The first and second pictures are ladies checking
out all of Diane's Spinning Wheel Glass Mats.

This picture is of all the ladies(except me-taking
this picture).
This picture is again ladies going through Diane's stack.
And....(drum roll please) my newest Yarnplayer HDT.
I already have plans for the vivid pink-Raspberry Sorbet
but it's a Christmas Secret(for those watching that blog)!!!
Tired and needing rest to be ready for tomorrow.
Have a great night and I hope you get some tatting in!!
Mine was done during the ride there and back, and
some while I was there.  :)

A last minute tatted Birthday gift

I found out a sweet senior friend had a birthday Friday.
Well...since her family claimed her for the day, I
decided to work on a gift for her.
This is Yarnplayer's Newcastle Necklace from her
book Tatted Jewelry.
It's tatted with her own size 40 HDT Tigereye
and size 40 Lizbeth black.  I have tiny black beads
added to the HDT tatting, and goldish bronzish
beads to the black tatting.  I wanted it to go well
with this beautiful glass heart I had.  The heart
looks like tiger stripes so I thought it was great
that the HDT was called Tigereye.
I only had 2 black jump rings and couldn't
find any at the store so I used these black
wires used for large beads to try and create
some homemade connectors(not great, but
I believe they will work).
The tatting is a little light for the heart, but we will
figure something out.  I can't wait to see her face!!!
Have a fabulous weekend!!!  :)

Actual tatting to show!!! :) 2015 25 Motif Challenge # 4 & 5

The first 2 are the Hope cross from Elaine's new book Tatting Patterns 4
The first is tatted in Yarnplayer's Adventurer HDT size 40, and the second is in the same thread, but with 2 strands tatted together at the same time.  I wanted a cross for men and this is a challenging cross, but I love the design!!!  I didn't do it justice, but I did my best!
Here is a comparison picture of the Hope crosses with my hand.  I needed a quick way to show the size.  I feel that men would prefer something less dainty in size so with the 2 strands together I achieved that.  I tried to line the color up together, but I did it at night with house lights on and it doesn't work well.  Either way, I think men will like it.  :)

Next is Robin Perfetti's Priscilla Cross link here:  https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8R5ZNar0YDdV0t4N21JMmhHaEU/edit
It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Purple Iris Fusion.  It's a gift for the lady who wrote on her webpage(years ago) about tatting which got me searching to see what tatting was and is now one of my favorite things to do!!!  :)
Oh, this cross is about the same size as the large men's cross, just wider.
Of course, I have ends to sew in, but I am taking a break.  And, I have more to do on the triangle cross.  :)   I have more crosses to tat, and several other projects which need to get done!!!
Happy tatting everyone!!!  :)

New Tatting!!! :)

A pattern to become easily addicted to!!!  Marilee's(Yarnplayer's) Small Maple Leaf (which you can purchase here:  https://www.etsy.com/listing/130244268/pdf-tatting-pattern-small-maple-leaf?ref=shop_home_active_16    and you can purchase her HDT from that shop too).  My daughter requested these earrings and I had some of Marilee's beautiful Sugar Maple HDT size 40  which needed a purpose.  So...I got the pattern and went to work yesterday.  I tatted 4 leaves(the other set is in a different color, but need ends taken care of-I am not as good as Marilee at that, but they will be posted when done), and today I tatted another Sugar Maple set and have plans for at least 2 most sets, plus I want to make some in Lizbeth Autumn Spice and see how they look.  :)  I have a feeling I will be asked for these once others see them that is why I am making them, other than I think I am addicted.  It takes me about 1 hour per earring.  My daughter loves these!!  :)  Can't wait to see her wear them!  :)
Trying to get other things done too, but wanting more done than I can do at one time!!  :)
Happy Tatting everyone!!!  :)

Crosses

This first cross is Mary Konior's Large Cross in size 10 Celery HDT from Yarnplayer.  I love this green most of all(but, my favorite color is blue).    :)
It's for another lady in our Sunday night group.  It had to be large because she is legally blind.
I have this feeling I may be tatting a cross a week till all have one.
The first cross, which I didn't get a picture of was from the book Tatted Bookmarks Needle & Shuttle edited by Barbara Foster Handy Hands, Inc. The Heritage Cross is by Dee Powell.
And here are some more.  The one that I didn't get a picture of was the same as the red below, but I added blue with the red when tatting the chains-which made the chains thicker than the rest, but the lady who received it loved it since red and blue are her favorite colors.  :)
These ones are all size 40 Lizbeth threads.  The first two are Rainbow Taffy, and the red is Christmas Red.
One of the Rainbow Taffy crosses is going to a niece of ours who we haven't seen in a very long time and I think she is getting married.  Wow!  I remember her as an 8yr. old.  :)

2014 25 Motif Challenge # 9

This is Vine Medallion No. 40 from Tatting with Anne Orr.
The directions say size 40 thread.  I used size 3 Corsage HDT from Yarnplayer.
It's imperfect(somehow), but it's so beautiful and I love it!
And since it is for me, it's good enough for me!!  :)
And this shows how large it is.  I plan on using it as a small doily.  :)

More large dream catcher earrings

Here are the 2 pair of dream catcher earrings I did yesterday and today.  I did the blue first and the green second.  The blue are in size 40 Lizbeth Peacock Blues and the green are in size 40 Yarnplayer's HDT Celery.  Notice??  Different color feather charms.  I picked the colors which seemed to go best with each color.
