Oct. Tollway Tatters

We started off with a pretty good group.....
 And grew....
Lots of tatting, chatting and goodies!!
Nancy brought these really neat zipper bags with
the little bottle of beads, and the snowflake and
elf charms, and the Ice Drop gems.  And Diane
had (part of) her collection of decorated bottle caps
and let us purchase some.  I love the Santas!!! :)
 And we continued to grow!!
There were 11 of us in total!!! :)
And while we were there the ventilation fans quit
working so they opened the doors and left them open
and froze us(ok, chilled a LOT!!).
And it started snowing, then lots and lots of snow
like sheets and the wind was so strong the snow
was going sideways.
Last week I thought I would try and tat some of
my dreamcatcher earrings, but I can no longer
get my hammered hoop earrings so, I found these
which are similar, but they have smooth edges and
I had to guess where to make my picots, and I
guessed wrong.  Oh well, our daughter calls it an
autumn spiral.  ;)
And, yesterday I remembered I needed a cross
for one of our newest Sunday night seniors.  Her
favorite color is yellow and so I tatted this cross
for her in Lizbeth size 40 Pineapple Parfait.
The pattern is Christina from Tatted Bookmarks
- cross-shaped by Lene Bjorn.
I now have a pink cross needed for another
senior so I will work on that this week, while
trying to "build" up my stock for the next
Craft Show.
Have an awesomely wonderful day, and
I hope you get your tatting in too!! :)

September Tollway Tatters gathering

What an awesome day with the Tollway Tatters again!!!
We got to meet other tatters(I want to say new, but I am
sure they have tatted for awhile).  We met Gail, and Kathy,
and Glenda, and got to see Elaine after not seeing her for
awhile.
Below is (left to right) Gail, Denise, Kathy, Elaine,
Diane, and Glenda(I was taking the picture).
Diane brought her very beautiful Pop Top Drops.
Believe it or not, we again succeeded to get plenty
of tatting in amongst all the chatting.
And then, Carrie came and joined us and brought
her daughter Elizabeth who does Quilling(a special
curled paper art-beautiful!).
I am working on a "rainbow" suncatcher for the Craft
Show next month.  I got the blue rounds done while
at Tollway Tatters.  Everyone loved these colors together.
And, of course, we love to share things with each other.
Denise had these cute storage boxes with fun items to
use with or in tatting.  Diane tempted(me) us with
wonderful Pop-Tops to add tatting too(the choices were
so hard to make!!). And, I have my official Tollway
Tatters Shuttle.  Diane explained that the Violets and
Cardinal represent the Illinois state flower and bird,
and the back it tie-dye to go along with the shirts we
usually wear to recognize each other.  ;)
Close-up of the front of the shuttle.
 Close-up of the back.
What a blast!!!!  Love meeting with all these
wonderful ladies!!!!  Can't wait for the next time
I can join them!!! :)
Have a wonderful day-hopefully filled with tatting!!!

Tollway Tatters

Starting out for Tollway Tatters Saturday morning
and this beautiful moon(although, I thought it was
the sun, but Richard said it was too early-7:30am)
Diane and Denise were there first and then I joined
them, and then Carrie joined us.
Diane and Denise had goodies for us.
I worked on my Cathedral Doily and from the time
I started this row(27 of 33) till the time I got home
I got about 1/2 the row done(too much talking -maybe).
Denise worked on Ice Drop turtles.
Notice the tatting design on her bag on the lower
left corner.
A closer up view of the first 2 of 3 turtles.
 These are Denise's current projects.
 Here is Denise tatting away.
Diane was working on her beautiful doily.
Carrie was working on these wonderful hair clips
for a friend who was getting married.
 Carrie busy tatting away.
Carolyn(in the center) joined us later.  She brought
lots and lots of stuff.
Here are some of her very beautiful Ice Drops and
snowflakes(I absolutely LOVE the Christmas
colored snowflakes!!! :)
Here are the four ladies busy tatting and chatting.
We actually got tatting done this time!!!
Carolyn tatted these beautiful crown pieces to
add to headbands for brides.
 Lots of movement and discussion.
 Tables full!!!
Carolyn brought beads and directions to make
dangles, so we got to make dangles,  My beads
are on that paper in the center of the table.
I will show the dangle when I get done gluing
the knot.
I absolutely love and appreciate being able
to join the Tollway Tatters when possible,
because for me it's like a mini vacation and
it refreshes me for boring normal life.  ;)
Already awaiting the next opportunity, and
so are the "boys" I have along with me, because
they made it to Bass Pro and overspent and
they are planning on Cabela's next time(for
those who don't know these stores, they are
for fishing and hunting.

Have a wonderful tatting filled day!!! :)

Tollway tatting fun!!! :) & updates

I was able to join all the wonderful ladies at
Tollway Tatters again.  We had a great time, and...
there was actually plenty of tatting getting done.  ;)
Diane(Queen of Ice Drops) is working on Ice Drop
animals-test tatting for a new book Wally Sosa is
putting together.  They are so cute!!!  :)
Updates:  I am still working on Cathedral doilies!!
The twins are at row 12(well, the one on the left is
is almost done with row 13) of 33.
The larger doily on the right is now done with row
25 of 33. In size 40 this is getting pretty good
sized as you can see by the piece of paper it's on.
I also have 1 of 3 angels done for an order.
I am going to do my best to have several colors
made up so if she may choose if she wants them
the same of different colors.
Those are our daughter's angels in the
cabinet behind.
Have a blessed day and may you
enjoy some tatting too!!! :)

Had a fabulous day with Tollway Tatters!!!!!!!

Tollway Tatters Blast!!! :)
Here is the best picture I could get of everyone working!
Next, is Ana's project from one of Yarnplayer's books.
It's like a hair scrunchie and the colors are so beautiful!!!
Here is Barb on the left and Ana on the right.
Next is Denise checking out the fly rod fishing pole
she just got, and she did tat too!!
Here is a start to one of the projects Denise worked on.
 This is Barb's project-quite elegant!!
And here's Barb working on it.
This is Diane's project, her new Tudor Rose Ice Drop!!!
Love it!!!!!!!!!
And here is Diane at work tatting!!!
Here is Sue Anna talking, but she did work on
a beautiful pair of Steampunk Earrings from
Yarnplayer's designs.
And I had to show you her beautiful earrings she
was wearing, which are more Yarnplayer designs.
I brought along the tablecloth I am tatting, and
worked on it, adding about 4 more motifs to it.
And, this is a tatter who just joined us today.  Her
name is Mary, and she was busy needle tatting a
design she was creating(sorry, I didn't get a picture).
And, just before I had to leave, Diane pulled out her
Renulek Spring Doily and I had to get a picture-
it's very elegant!!!!!!!!!!!  :)
So....that was the fun I had today.
I got home and have already baked the brownies
for tomorrow's lunch and have to get the lasagna
ready for 20 people, so.....it's more cooking before bed
and up at 5am to cook it fully.
Have a fabulous weekend, and
Happy Tatting!!!!!!!!!!  :)
