A Sea Turtle Lanyard

We have a friend who is in a ministry
which we are involved in and she needed
a new lanyard for her cross.  She asked
if I could tat her one and of course, I
said yes.  Well, after months of trying to
figure out what to do(her favorite color is
purple, but she liked all the purples and I
couldn't decide for her, so...after thought
and knowing how she LOVES sea turtles,
I found these beads on Etsy and bought
them.  I had Lizbeth size 10 Latte Foam
which reminds me of sand, and will go
with more outfits than purple would,
and so, her lanyard was born tatted.  ;)
One side has the ministry name, the other
lots of sea turtles!!!  :)
I won't see her until next month(I think),
so I have to keep my secret until then-
it's terribly hard!!!
Happy tatting!!! :)

A Rainbow to brighten my mood!

A friend needed a tatted lanyard to hang
her cross on, so...I tatted one for her!!
She loves purple so I used purple beads.
It's finished an looks much better than I
thought!!!!
Not my best work, but I have tried tatting
a lanyard 3 times over the past few months
and just could not get it to work right.
First, I had beads which were too heavy
and larger than these, then I was using
size 20 thread which wasn't working.
Next, I got these beads and they are too
large so I finally switched to size 10 thread.
It's cheaper, but it's bright and fun and it
works!!! :)
A little close-up below.
Happy Tatting!!!  :)

2017 25 Motif Challenge # 10

This is not terrible hard, but I started and made
a major mistake of joining all the large rings as
well as the small rings which was not working.
It's tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Black and Rainbow
Splash. Colors inspired by Tatting Tatsright
from Facebook. The pattern is here:
It's the bottom pattern, although I am planning
on trying the top pattern when possible.  :)
I also worked on a few other things today.
I was trying to tat a small Ice Drop with the small
clear gem, but it kept slipping out of the tatting
so I tatted chains with tiny beads around the front
to tighten it a bit.  ;)  The Peacock Blue pieces
on top were supposed to be for it, but..... they
were not large enough so I thought some young
girl would like them for earrings, so I have to
assemble them.
And, I am working on a lanyard for a friend.  I have
failed twice at doing what I wanted to do, so I decided
to wing-it and just tat!!!  I will post it when it's done...
maybe.  ;)
Have a wonderful weekend, and
Happy Tatting!!!!!!!!  :)

Tatted lanyard for my husband

I have been tatting along.  Lots of things going on and keeping tatting limited, but still progressing.  My husband wanted a tatted lanyard(but NO beads).  So, after trying a couple of patterns and failing, I decided to try this.  Nice thing is that it should be durable since my husband is quite hard on things, and it holds the weight of all three crosses he wanted on it(and they are heavy).
It's tatted in size 10 Lizbeth Angel's Love and Turquoise Twist.
First picture is the whole thing.
 Next is just the lanyard.
Next is so you can see that I used a large single ring at each end and over lapped them.
Next is a scan of it.  :)
Have not had much chance to work on my secret tatting, but it's not a huge secret anymore since my husband walked in unannounced one day and saw it....so it's going to my mother-in-law and her husband.....and my husband has one coming next year(hopefully).
I got to work with one of my senior tatting students this week.  She is tired of making rings and joining them, so we worked on learning chains.  I don't know how much practice she is getting since she has been enduring headaches that are lasting weeks.
Well....tomorrow(Lord willing) I will be tatting and watching Christrmas movies(on Hallmark Channel) all day.  :)
Have a wonderful day and hopefully tatting time too!!!  :)

2015 25 Motif Challenge # 7

It's done!!!  :)
Again, this is...Beaded Lanyard from Patti Duff
It's tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Rainbow Splash and some large beads.
I scanned it so the gray in the picture is due to having the beads keep the scanner lid from closing.
The seniors who are learning to tat are doing well.  One is making rings(we need to work on some tension), and the other is just getting the flip, but for some reason they both have troubles with the words under and over.  I thought it was simple, but they keep going the wrong direction.  Either way, they are learning!!!  :)  Hopefully I will be able to take pictures soon.
Hope you have a tatful day!!!  :)
I am off to prepare for the invasion of the granddaughters again.  :)
