This is Sue Hanson's Val's Suncatcher: http://freespace.virgin.net/bo.hanson/Tatting/CrystalRing/CrystalsRing.html
I made these 2 suncatchers quite some time back, but didn't get them on the rings. The first is size 40 Lizbeth Blue Ice with cheap beads and a snowflake doodad in the center. The second is size 60 Tatskool's HDT Flame Lantana with crystallized Swarovski Elements bicone beads. These 2 are for me!!!
Next....I have finished round 5 on my green project and even sewed in the ends(a major first for me!!!). I am now ready to add the final touch and prayerfully this will be awesome when done!!! :)
**Don't expect it done this weekend though**

The green project turned out beautifully!!
Your rings are beautiful. Both are beautiful--the one using the less expensive supplies is no less beautiful than the other. Tatting makes everything look special, doesn't it? :D I look forward to seeing your green surprise when finished. It is looking good.
All I can say is, WOW! Those are awesome sun catchers! The green motif is gorgeous. I hope when school gets out we can get together again! It was so much fun spending time with you and Cheryl. :-)
lovely tatting!!!!
No wonder you are keeping those for YOU! And the green one is superb.
Fox ; )
Lovely sun catchers,
The green mat is looking lovely how many more rounds have you got to do?
Margaret
The suncatchers are really pretty. Good to make something to keep now and then!
Thank you all for all the wonderful comments!!!
Diane, Cheryl and I have been so frustrated not being able to make it during the winter time-and the time her dad was dying, but we sure hope to be able to make it again soon!!!
Margaret, the green project is a surprise gift for a friend and it is almost finished-due to be given to the recipient the last weekend in June(but finished and posted on the blog as soon as possible).
I love these suncatchers! I recognize the doodad and like the way you attached it. The beads look great in both pieces, and that's a clever way to attach to the second ring. Well done! And the green piece gets more and more impressive!
Happy Tatting Day!
Thank you for posting the sun catchers--I have been wondering how to attach to rings, and your photo gave me two great ideas! :) KF
Thanks Kathy and Kristen!! :)
About the second ring Kathy..I was looking for a different way and it just happened. And I really like how it came out!! :)
Kristen, I am so glad you have some ideas from my suncatchers. I usually just wrap a thread around the ring(bracelet) drawing it through each picot as I go and tie it off at the end, but then I used the method for wrapping around a ring as Jon Yusoff(http://tatsaway.blogspot.com/) uses in her book, but I only did it here and there on that second suncatcher. And now I am doing another and covering the whole ring with the same method. :)
