Piney Woods Tatter Tat-along Round 2 done

Doing my best to make this turn out right.  While tatting the chains they wanted to do their own thing, but I think after straightening them and then putting them under a heavy book they should behave without too much problem.  :)   Oh, and since this is shuttle tatted I just kept drawing the ball thread through so that I didn't have to cut it, and I put the shuttle through each chain so that I could get the woven effect.

"Lucy, you've got some 'splainin' to do." I can't figure out how you did this chain with the shuttle but I have to learn! You are so smart! And yes, I can wait for tutorials, you are so kind to even consider it!

Ummmm....explainin' Michelle??? I guess. I tatted the first chain. Then started the second chain in front and brought it to the back and joined. I then put the shuttle through the arch of that chain so that it would be in front and I drew the ball thread through so I could use it in front. I did this all the way around bringing the shuttle through the arch and drawing the ball thread through(which basically wove it through too, but when cut at the end was fairly easily drawn back out. :) Hope that helps. :)

Thank you Rachel!! :)

Rachel's patterns are so fascinating, with the setting up of the picots so that there can be a variety of ring and chain sequences. Then chains can be woven in and out on another round . I noticed the foundation rings were alternated as to number of picots, creating an interesting shape. This is looking great! Very nicely done - and with a shuttle!

I think so, thanks! I'm not sure about the shuttle through the arch but it must just be big enough?

Oops, I never said how beautiful it is and what an inspiration you are to give this a try with a shuttle!

Kathy, you are right! I love her patterns and designs!! That is why I really wanted to attempt this tat-along. :)
Michelle, I am using size 10 thread so the project is a larger size, and I am using a clover shuttle which "just" goes through the arch of the chains. It worked so I didn't complain. And thank you so much for your wonderful comments!! :)
Thank you Margaret!! I hope you are feeling better!! :)

Looks great. I also love this tat-along. I found that Jennifer Williams has a solution with her flower with overlapping chains. She makes the two rounds at the same time. I hope you get what I mean. A link is http://www.cariad-tatting.co.uk/patterns.flower3.pdf.pdf

Thank you goudenregen!! :) I understand what you mean about doing them at the same time!! That might actually be easier, but I just did it the way I did without thinking. :)

You're brave to do the tat along with a shuttle! Looking good.

Thank you Jane! :) I don't know about brave, but I only know how to shuttle tat. :)
