2012 25 Motif Challenge: Motif #16

This is the Swirl Snowflake from Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman. It's tatted in size 100 Rainbow Bright HDT from Tatskool. I loved the look of this design and I figured I would like it best in colors, so....I decided I wanted rainbow and this is the only rainbow color thread I have left, and since I love the colors I used it. It's for a Christmas gift which will be posted later. :)

2011: 25 Motif Challenge- Motif #16

I spent most of Sunday working on adding more length to the tablecloth I am working on for my husband. I was able to get 12 more motifs added. It doesn't look like much, but it did add about 8 or 9 more inches to the length.
Yesterday afternoon I was bored and wanted something to do so I ended up doing this sweet little snowflake called the Cloverleaf Snowflake from Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman in Lizbeth size 40 Snow White. It's a fairly easy snowflake and It's so pretty! :)

Just tatting :)

This is a slightly interesting post. This is my past tatting student/niece(she quit tatting). She is wearing my 25th anniversary gift(which my husband got, but they didn't fit at all correctly-I think they were made for teens). Well, they were monogrammed with my name on the lower left corner of the shirt, so.....I cleverly covered the monogram with 2 tatted snowflakes which look similiar to the one on the front of the shirt. They are tatted in Tatskool's Coral Reef size 40. The snowflake pattern is Beaded Snowflake(altered a little bit to exclude beads) from Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman. Well, at least they will be appreciated. :D

25 #2 Motif # 7 Sparkling Snowflake

The pattern I started today came from this site: http://www.thenewhomemaker.com/hands/crafts/tat.html The picture they show doesn't look a bit like what I tatted from the pattern they gave. The most interesting part to me was that I thought I had seen this very snowflake in one of the books I have used and I was right. It's the Sparkling Snowflake from Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman. I was disappointed that it wasn't the snowflake they showed.

I think I need to find something larger(much) to tat after vacation! :)

25 #2 Motif # 6 Tiny Snowflake

Since I started tatting I found a good way to de-stress is to tat and last week and now this week are needing de-stressing and I am thankful for tatting. :)
This Tiny Snowflake is from Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman done in Lizbeth size 20 Royal Wave.

Can you tell blue is my favorite color???? And this is the prettiest blue I have right now.

25 #2 Motif # 5 Ribbon Snowflake

Of course....I just couldn't be done with one project and put tatting aside for awhile so.....here is a snowflake I did tonight. It's from Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman and done in Lizbeth size 20 Royal Wave. I don't think it looks as good in the scan as it does in real life, but I really like the pattern and am going to do more of these. :)

Bethany was glowing after hearing the comments and she says Hi. She has to go home again tomorrow.
And, pre-warning....I may not be tatting from next Wed. through the following week because we have a big jamboree at church that I am "in charge of"(detail wise anyway), and then we are going on our 2nd vacation in 24 years and can't wait!!! We are taking our 22 and 20 year olds to Cedar Point and we are all excited so I am praying that the weather is blessed! Until then, I will most likely be tatting. :)

Still busy tatting :)

Still busy with snowflakes and dragonflies.
The first is the Unique Snowflake and the second is the Cloverleaf Snowflake both from Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman.
The others are Jon Yusoff's dragonfly pattern-the first is done in Lizbeth Caribbean size 20 with tiny purple beads, and the second is white size 10 with orange beads. The dragonfly twins are going to fulfill a request from my daughter for earrings(they are only as big as my thumb).

Motif #14 Beaded Snowflake

Hi Everyone! I have still been tatting. The snowflake on the left is one I did several months ago and my mother-in-law loved it so....I decided I would make her one for Christmas(hoping to make 6 total). The one on the right is the one I just finished today and am pleased with the progress of my tatting. I can see how much more defined it is and it seems more clear to me. This one is firmer than the first one and I just enjoy the presentation.
Both done in size 10 thread with blue beads.
This is the Beaded Snowflake from Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman.

Motif # 13 Flower Snowflake

I have been tatting in size 10 again to bring a little confidence to continue learning with the smaller threads. This Flower Snowflake is from Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman. I just finished it so it needs blocking and definitely stiffening.
