Tatting in this new year-time challenged!

A good friend of mine suggested that I use my time
during Tollway Tatters to tat items for craft shows.
Fantastic idea and I have been doing that.
I started with Christmas tree earrings in variegated
threads for a change and silver and gold star beads
for the tops.  Several people say they like the
variegated threads better than the solid green. ;)
Next, I started on some crosses.
This last month's Tollway Tatters Online Gathering
seemed to be a very busy day for most of us.  As we
came online most of us announced that we couldn't
stay long, for many different reasons. ;)  There were
six tatters on when I left(that included me).
All I got done in my 1/2 hour was one arm of a
cross, but I feel accomplished!!  Then we went and
moved a 93yr. old. ;)
All my tatting time in between life so far has been on
my collar necklace.  I am hoping and praying to have
it done by summer!!  ;)
Below is a close-up to show all the tiny beads.
In between each section are tiny clear beads.
And to show my shuttle with the beads.

And, though it's not tatting I have to show
you what I did.
One of my senior friends gifted me a light-up
green garland cross which someone made
for her.  She had to move to a nursing home
and didn't think she could bring it.
I have been using at the church group we
have each Christmas for a couple of years
now.
Well, I got her a wall Christmas tree which
lit up and she loved it so much and was sad
when I had to take it down.
 So...I got thinking
and decided I would "spruce" up her cross
with flowers.  Well, our 101yr. old said it had
to be tulips(and you don't argue with someone
of that age!!).  So, this is what has become of
that cross.  I am sure she will love it!!!  :)

Below is how it looks lit up during the day.

Below is how it looks lit up during the night.

Have a wonderful day and I hope you
(and I) get some tatting in!!! :)

Actual tatting to show!!!

I have been tatting a bit. I have 2 snowflakes done
and 4 Christmas trees which will be 2 pair of earrings.
The first snowflake is Fifth Day of December
from 24 Snowflakes in Tatting by Lene Bjorn.

Second snowflake is Catrin from 20 Twenty to Make
Tatted Snowflakes by Jennifer Williams.
The Christmas trees are Christmas Tree Earrings by Linda S. Davies-link here: http://www.georgiaseitz.com/2007/ldaviesxmastearrings.pdf
I have also been working on 2 Christmas presents
and will show them when they are finished. Below I am preparing to work with my heart beads
and see what will become of them. :)
For those who saw that I took over knitting my blanket
which our daughter started years ago.....I have made
progress!!!  It's now too big to be a skirt(for those
who saw the first picture of it).  I was thinking it might
be done by Christmas, but I think it's going to be
by Thanksgiving, so it will be my Christmas present!!!
I can't wait to use it!!! :)
Oh, for those who need a little detail, it's just plain
knitting, Bernat Baby Blanket Yarn(thick fleece), and
it's 300 stitches across.
Well, more tatting to work on, besides all the normal
boring stuff.  Have a wonderful tatting filled day!!! :)

Lots of tatting and updates and 2012 25 Motif Challenge #4

First to start are 5 pairs of Christmas trees to fill my orders(minus the one for my granddaughter which I need special earrings and to alter the tree pattern and make it smaller).
Next is my Motif #4 Valentine Earring(s)-I only made one today. The pattern is here:
Tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Christmas red with clear glass beads.

I also made 3 more rainbow crosses so I have some in stock for when my mother-in-law wants more.
Next is a bracelet for my mother-in-law's birthday next week. It's the Wandering Blooms bracelet(slightly modified). The pattern is here: http://web.archive.org/web/20051201013809/http://www.georgiaseitz.com/2005/dmcbracelet.pdf
Tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Royal Blue.
Update on the tablecloth for my husband. Still making slow progress, but at least it's happening. I laid it across the table for this picture, but it will go lengthwise when actually finished. I didn't plan on the empty circles, but without any pattern things happen. My husband is happy either way.
Needing a change of design and color I tried this doily with a size 10 Aunt Lydia's crochet thread. The color name is Passionata and it looked to me almost like an autumn rainbow on the spool, but.....I wasn't quite as thrilled when seeing it worked up, but it's nice for a color change and to try this doily-which will be done again in better colors(hopefully!). :) The doily pattern is Sidekick from Elegant Tatting Patterns by Janet Carroll.
I needed a little more tatting organized storage and so...I was ok'd to buy this. And it's almost full already. :)

And my favorite thing to show tonight!!!! New Bright and Beautiful Threads from Jess at http://jess-tats.blogspot.com/

These turned out pretty well I think. I hope someone will like them. They are from Linda Davies here: http://freepdfhosting.com/fb34d38215.pdf
