Happy New Tatting Year everyone!!! :)

I would say it tomorrow, but I will be busy with church.

I can't wait to get started tatting on Monday.  I have 
a few things to get finished, and lots and lots that I 
want to tat.

Since I have no tatting to show I will share Tigger!!  :) 

Merry Christmas to all my Tatting friends!!!

First is a gift to myself.  Shuttle By Design had posted 

these awesome Star shuttles and others and I was actually 

on time to get one!!!
I LOVE it!!!

Next, I am needing last minute gifts because if the 

weather is ok New Year's Eve we will have special 

guests coming for a "late" Christmas gathering.
So, my daughter had gotten these frames and they 

didn't work for what she wanted and I held on to them 

thinking I could use them.  Well, you can't put any 

picture in them or even the tatting as the glitter is 

too obstructive to seeing through it, so I put colored 

tissue paper in each and then glued tatted motifs to 

the front of each.  They are pretty and good for small 

spaces.

One of our special guests is our beloved 98 yr. old 

from our Sunday night church family.  She already 

has one of my tatted crosses, and a tatted "Ice Drop" 

which she made into a pendant by placing it on a chain.
Well, I am hoping she will like this agate slice with 

tatting on a gold chain.

Not much else to show.

We are expecting a huge winter storm 

over the next several days, but I am not 

worried, we are in Michigan and winter 

is expected!!!  ;)

Snowflake earrings in the making

Well, I gave in and am tatting snowflakes for earrings.

Our daughter wore her snowflake earrings that I had 

tatted for her(years ago 2014) to the craft show and 

received many compliments and was asked about them.

Well, I won't tat those for others because they were 

tatted in size 80, took LOTS of time and are now a 

one of a kind(here is the pattern link:

I am tatting snowflakes from 

Robin Perfetti's 4 Dozen Tatted Snowflakes book. 

This snowflake is number 8.  I tatted it in size 40, and 

the last pair are in size 20(not much difference in size).

The first 3 pair were tatted in Lizbeth size 40

Snow White.

And, I just finished tatting this pair last night:

tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Blue Ice.

I have tons of options with this snowflake and 

different beads.  Now to see how many I can tat 

and finish in 2 weeks.

Time to catch up on what's been happening here.

Our daughter, Sarah, and I were at our first craft 

show of this year.  Here she is with all her items(tons!).
Everything in this picture up to the little Christmas 

tree on the left.

Below is my large Christmas tree with the larger 

Pop Top Ice Drop ornaments, and small space of 

jewelry(plus my in-progress forever tatted tablecloth).

And below is my small tree with small Pop Top
Ice Drop ornaments, Christmas button ornaments,
and mirror ornaments.

These young girls who were at the craft show before,
were back and selling ribbon wrapped candy cane
wreaths.  I wanted to support them, and got this fabulous
snowflake candy cane wreath.

A lady at the craft show was admiring my tatting

and told me how she used to crochet angel tree
toppers.  I was so curious how big size 3 thread
would make the Cathedral  Angel(by Elaine P. Gan)
that I tried it.  I don't have a correct head, but tried a
couple to see. This is the largest bead I have(too small).

This is one of my mirror ornaments, great size,

but too flat.

Below shows the difference in sizes.  First is size 3, 

second is size 40, then size 20.

And, I wanted to embellish this beautiful agate slice 

with tatting.  I like how it turned out.  :)  Next is to 

tat a chain.

And, I tatted 2 snowflakes to use as earrings.

Growing Garland

Little bits here and there and it really grows!

This was Tuesday morning and see how far around 

the tree the garland goes?? 

Well, it's grown since then and it's now 46in. long. 

(not the best picture or model).  ;)

I don't have a planned length, just tatting and enjoying.

A little random tatting....

I had thought about using some of the Christmas buttons 

on a garland, but hadn't decided on the tatted garland 

design.  Well...last night while sitting and watching a 

Christmas movies(of course!!!), I decided just to try one 

of two that I was deciding between.  It's Mary Konior's 

Three Blind Mice from the book Tatting Patterns. Tatted 

in size 20 Lizbeth Snow White.

Last night and a bit early this afternoon and it was  the 

length of a folder.  I figured it was going to be too small 

and would end up on a tabletop tree.

And, a little more time and just checking to see what it 

will look like on a large tree(6ft).  I think it will stand 

out nicely!!!  :)  So, on with more tatting and buttons 

to see how long it will get.  ;)

Almost ready for the craft shows

I ended up with a total of 33 Pop Top Ice Drop 

ornaments:
Winnie the Pooh and Friends.

Peanuts characters.

Frosty the Snowman.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and characters from
the movie.

And 17 tatted Christmas button ornaments.

Now the hard work begins.  Figuring out 
how to display everything, packing everything,

and then transporting and setting up.
Thankfully I have 3 weeks from this Saturday. 

I am trying to make sure I can get it all done 

without waiting and stressing!  ;)

Last one

 I believe I have a total of 31 Pop Top Ice Drop
ornaments for our craft show, which has now 
become 2 craft shows.

I am busy sewing in ends.  When I am done I hope 
to remember to take a picture of all of them.
If my count is correct, I actually tatted 33, but 2 
were claimed by people who love them so I set them 
aside for them.
I have 5 weeks from this Saturday until the first 
craft show, so if I get all the ends sewn in and my 
stuff prepared for the show, if there is any time left 
I plan on working on button ornaments.

More ornaments and finished necklaces

Another Winnie the Pooh and friends in size 20 

thread.

Another Tigger and Pooh in size 40 thread.

And 3 necklaces finally finished.  I had tatted 

around the stones quite some time ago and needed 

chains.  I found all 3 of these and they go perfectly.

The only thing is they are too long or too short.  ;)

Hmmmm...I thought I had posted these, but I guess I didn't.

Continuing on with Pop Top Ice Drop ornaments.
These aren't traditional Christmas colors, but I think 
they are great first ornaments and they will go well 

with multicolored Christmas lights or even white lights.

This one below just had to show off Rudolph's nose!!  :)

Below is the center of one of my Christmas button ornaments. 
For those who wonder what they look like before the button.
This one is different from all the others because it's tatted in 
size 40 and all the rest have been tatted in size 20.  Also, I 

did the beads a bit different, but I love the effect and, you 
will soon see that this one gave me an idea and will be used 
just a bit differently than a button ornament, and hopefully 
I will tat one as a button ornament.  ;)  I love how this looks 
even without anything else!!! :)

These first 4 were completed this weekend and the 
pink finished this morning.

All 3 Pop Top ornaments are in size 40 thread.

These angel earrings are tatted with size 40 Lizbeth 
Cranberry bush.  I wanted a pair with Christmas 
colors.

The gingerbread man will remain with me, and a 

friend loves the Christmas tree with the reindeer so 

you know where that will end up.  ;)
