A finish to the volunteer's crosses(I think). ;)

So...I finally filled in the center with just rings.
It made it pucker a little, but if I blocked it I
am sure it would be flat.
Next is an idea I got in my head.  It is small,
but I figure some like small crosses.  I also
wrote down the pattern and added that next
time I need to add joining picots to the center
corners for more stability and to keep the
chains from overlapping.  I like the design.
Both designs and most of the others have been
tatted in size 10 thread.  I am thinking this 2nd
cross would make great cross earring in size 40
and shorten the bottom a little and leave off the
"tail".
Have a great tatting filled weekend!!! :)

Continuing crosses

Continuing to tat crosses for volunteers.
This first one is an Elaine P. Gan design.

The second is out of my head trying to
empty the shuttle from the first cross.
I am sure someone has tatted a similar
one at some point.  I am trying to figure
out how I want to fill the center.
I believe I only have 1 more to get done,
but since I have another week I might tat
a few extra if I have time.
Have a great day and happy tatting!! :)

2 more crosses done in January

These are most likely the last crosses this month.  I
am busy with a plastic canvas name "tag" for a senior
and busy tomorrow so I don't know if you will see another
this month since tomorrow is the last day of the month.

I hope you can "sneak" at least 1 tatted item

in before tomorrow!! :)
Have a great day and get that last tatted piece
or some tatting in.  ;)

Yes, I have been tatting this month!!

I am using up some size 10 thread (Artiste- from Hobby Lobby).
I am making crosses for volunteers at a local food pantry.
Most are Elaine P. Gan designs.

Tatted Christmas tree earrings for this year's craft show(s).
Same pattern I have used before, but with variegated greens.

The cross below is my own design.  I wanted to empty
shuttles and just sat down and started tatting.

The cross below is an Elaine P. Gan design, if you look
at it and then my "emptying shuttles" cross I think this
one inspired mine.  I must have looked at the pattern
before emptying my shuttles.  ;)
Next, I am still working with plastic canvas.  I really like it!!
I am making birdhouse tissue covers for table centerpieces for
our Sunday night group(hope to have them done by summer).
My first one is done.  It is a Mary Maxim kit, but I altered it a
bit.  First, I didn't add the lace looking roof trim(too much work).
Second, I forgot the little touch of blue on the bird wing(oh well).
Third, the flowers.....I did a little of their french knot flowers which
resemble lilacs to me(in pink), but I added tatted "flowers" and have
lots of plastic canvas crafters really liking them, and a couple said
they have tatted or have tatting supplies. ;)
Oh, and I added a tatted butterfly.  :)

So, I am tatting, and crafting.  I have been busy with
ministry things and haven't posted much, but I think
this makes up for it. ;)
Happy tatting everyone!!! :)
