Shhhhhhh......secret tatting happening :D

This is a Christmas gift(problem is who I am giving it to-my mother-in-law and her hubby, or my hubby).  It's tatted in size 10 Lizbeth Navy Blue and Snow White.
I messed up on the Navy Blue section, but have tried to work with it so that I didn't have to cut it off and start again.  I will post the book it's from next time(hopefully).  Here it is on a tote bag for an idea of it's size so far.
I just finished the 3rd garland for my friend.  So far I have succeeded in getting 1 done a year which means next year will be the final one.  For those who don't know...these are 18 feet long(so that is 36 feet of tatting-slow with 3 picots added to each side of each bead and size 10 thread).
Yes, I have been working on the tablecloth.  It's still just a glorified table runner, but at least it's not abandoned.  I am trying to sew in all those ends and then place it on the table to give you a better idea of the size(maybe next week sometime).
One night we had a storm and I can't sleep during them, so I tatted and our daughter knitted while watching a movie till the storm ended.  I did this cross which I have done lots of times.
Just something to keep me busy and not stressed by the storm
(don't look, I accidentally got a picture of my toes).
The piece below is a question piece.  One of my senior tatting students brought this handkerchief to me and asked if it was tatting.  I looked at it awful careful because it sure resembles tatting in the stitches a bit, but.....I told her I was pretty sure it was not tatting and she is wondering if anyone knows what type of lace work it is.

An update on my tatting senior students.  Well.....life has a way of keeping class from happening, but....one has achieved rings pretty well,
and as soon as she is feeling better she will be moving on to chains.
The other doesn't really practice and just casually acts interested, but still says she wants to continue.
Hope you are all having a wonderful day!!!
I have seen lots of other tatters' projects and progress and am so inspired!!!  :)

wow I forgot about the garland and now it is finished, it's beautiful, a special gift and I jut bought that navy blue but not sure what I am going to make with it! I used to make historical clothes and there was directions for this I do believe, it is made with a needle and thread but can't remember the name. hopefully someone will know. also like the table cloth looks like you have a lot done too.

My goodness, you've been busy! I love all of your crosses, but your garland projects are the ones that fascinate me. I went out and bought bead garland after seeing yours. It's been sitting in a vase just waiting for me to get started. The beads are getting a little dusty! ;-)

Love your stream of beautiful lace pics ! You have been quite busy :-)

I have no understanding of different lace techniques. But on the face of it it looks like blanket stitch embroidery/couching . Whatever it is, it is pretty intricate work !

Thank you so much everyone!!! :)
Diane, these have all been for a friend, and I have several beaded garlands of my own that are anxiously(and probably dusty too) waiting for my attention so don't feel bad!!! :) I am sure yours will look awesome!!!! :) Oh, and your monster doily has my husband begging me to make him one!! :)

That 'question' piece....could it be some sort of 'needle' lace - not 'tatting needle,' but needle-and-thread needle?

Your tatting - all of it - is lovely.

Beautiful tatting Sue, the doily is very nice and the garlands are a big project, I wonder what they will use for, why 18 ft, sorry if you've already written that, I can't remember. Wonderful table runner.

Thank you both!! :)
SWtrompeterm I have no idea what kind of lace it is, but it is interesting.
Ninetta, the garlands belong to a friend. She had purchased them years ago and they were still packaged. She saw some others I had done and asked if I would tat on these. There were 4 so I only have 1 more to go. As for what she will do with them......I am afraid they might just sit forever(I would explain, but it would take too long and I don't want any hurt feelings). I believe they would be beautiful additions for an old Victorian Christmas display-but that is just my thought. :)

Beautiful work. Can you tell me what is the brand and name of your variegated cross?

Hi Batty Tatter, the cross is in size 10 Aunt Lydia's white, and size 10 Royale Mexicana(I call it rainbow). :)
