Snowflake earrings in the making

Well, I gave in and am tatting snowflakes for earrings.
Our daughter wore her snowflake earrings that I had
tatted for her(years ago 2014) to the craft show and
received many compliments and was asked about them.
Well, I won't tat those for others because they were
tatted in size 80, took LOTS of time and are now a
Here is a picture of her snowflake earring before completion:

I am tatting snowflakes from
Robin Perfetti's 4 Dozen Tatted Snowflakes book.
This snowflake is number 8.  I tatted it in size 40, and
the last pair are in size 20(not much difference in size).
The first 3 pair were tatted in Lizbeth size 40
Snow White.
Close-up of first pair:
second pair:
third pair:
And, I just finished tatting this pair last night:
tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Blue Ice.
I have tons of options with this snowflake and
different beads.  Now to see how many I can tat
and finish in 2 weeks.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
Have a tatting filled day!! :)

Time to catch up on what's been happening here.

Our daughter, Sarah, and I were at our first craft
show of this year.  Here she is with all her items(tons!).
Everything in this picture up to the little Christmas
tree on the left.
Below is my large Christmas tree with the larger
Pop Top Ice Drop ornaments, and small space of
jewelry(plus my in-progress forever tatted tablecloth).
And below is my small tree with small Pop Top
Ice Drop ornaments, Christmas button ornaments,
and mirror ornaments.

These young girls who were at the craft show before,
were back and selling ribbon wrapped candy cane
wreaths.  I wanted to support them, and got this fabulous
snowflake candy cane wreath.
A lady at the craft show was admiring my tatting
and told me how she used to crochet angel tree
toppers.  I was so curious how big size 3 thread
would make the Cathedral  Angel(by Elaine P. Gan)
that I tried it.  I don't have a correct head, but tried a
couple to see. This is the largest bead I have(too small).
This is one of my mirror ornaments, great size,
but too flat.
Below shows the difference in sizes.  First is size 3,
second is size 40, then size 20.
And, I wanted to embellish this beautiful agate slice
with tatting.  I like how it turned out.  :)  Next is to
tat a chain.
And, I tatted 2 snowflakes to use as earrings.
This pattern is #8 from 4 Dozen
Tatted Snowflakes from Robin Perfetti.
So, you are all caught up here!! ;)
Have a wonderful tatting filled day and
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!! :)

Actual tatting to show!!!

I have been tatting a bit. I have 2 snowflakes done
and 4 Christmas trees which will be 2 pair of earrings.
The first snowflake is Fifth Day of December
from 24 Snowflakes in Tatting by Lene Bjorn.

Second snowflake is Catrin from 20 Twenty to Make
Tatted Snowflakes by Jennifer Williams.
The Christmas trees are Christmas Tree Earrings by Linda S. Davies-link here: http://www.georgiaseitz.com/2007/ldaviesxmastearrings.pdf
I have also been working on 2 Christmas presents
and will show them when they are finished. Below I am preparing to work with my heart beads
and see what will become of them. :)
For those who saw that I took over knitting my blanket
which our daughter started years ago.....I have made
progress!!!  It's now too big to be a skirt(for those
who saw the first picture of it).  I was thinking it might
be done by Christmas, but I think it's going to be
by Thanksgiving, so it will be my Christmas present!!!
I can't wait to use it!!! :)
Oh, for those who need a little detail, it's just plain
knitting, Bernat Baby Blanket Yarn(thick fleece), and
it's 300 stitches across.
Well, more tatting to work on, besides all the normal
boring stuff.  Have a wonderful tatting filled day!!! :)

Got packages today

I am not showing the plain boxes, but I received
some of the things I have ordered to help me with
craft show in October.  I ordered round earring hoops
so I could make more of my dreamcatcher earrings,
and they had neat little bead angels so I got those,
I ordered clear boxes for my Cathedral Angels, and
I ordered earring cards, and also ribbon for the
wreaths I am finally putting together after many years!
Below is a picture of the white boxes I bought for the
angels(I also have 5 of the 6 ordered delivered).
Below is a picture of the clear boxes I just received.
I think these will be fabulous for the craft show.
I need some snowflakes for the 2nd wreath(I have
2 wreaths in progress).
This is Catrin from 20 Twenty to Make Tatted Snowflakes
by Jennifer Williams.
And, from the same book...this is Jan.
Hope your day is blessed with love and tatting!!! :)

Adding another snowflake to this post:
This is from the same book as the two above.
This is the Mary snowflake.

Re-test tatting Snowflakes

These are more of Elaine's designs.
I have test tatted these before, but she said she
made some changes(not noticeable).
The first one doesn't look as good scanned, but
it's here.  It's Lizbeth size 40 Purple Dk. with
tiny purple beads.
The picture below is the original I test tatted
quite some time ago.
This one is supposed to have 6 points, but I goofed
and it has 7, but I really like it!!!
It's tatted in Lizbeth size 40 Bright Orange with
orange seed beads.
The picture below is the original I tatted quite
some time ago and notice, I paid attention to
the directions and it only has 6 points.  ;)
Hope you are having a wonderful day!!
Happy Tatting!!  :)

Adding to this post...
Got another one re-test tatted.
This one is Lizbeth size 20 Blue Ice.
I love the star in the center, the frilly center and
arms, and the solid outline.
The picture below is the one test tatted awhile ago.
Have a great night!  :)

2017 25 Motif Challenge # 11 &12 and another Ice Drop

The snowflakes are from 20 Twenty to Make
Tatted Snowflakes by Jennifer Williams.
Tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Blue Ice with tiny blue beads.
It curls cuz' I used tiny picots and the beads barely
fit on them and I still had to make a join.
This snowflake is named Mary.
Neither snowflake is terrible hard, the challenge
on the first was due to my small picots, the challenge
on the second was bead placement.
This next snowflake is named Auriel.
I tatted another Birthday Ice Drop in Lizbeth size
20 Snow White with gold beads and a frosted gem.
Here's a collection of recent projects.
Happy Tatting everyone!!! :)

Just some random tattings......

These have been done for a couple of weeks and more are needed for a couple of projects I WANT done.  I will post the projects when and if I get them done.  :)
These are Tatted Celtic Pumpkins from Rozella Linden.  I printed the pattern a long time ago off my old computer so I don't know if there is still a link online.  These are tiny in size 40 and as you can see, they are not right, but just a try for now.  :)

Snowflake blizzard!!!

Working hard to get my request for 13 snowflakes done!!!  Here are the ones I believe she will like the most!!  :)
In this top picture are (top left)
Minta Pattern from:
tatted in Lizbeth size 10 Snow White.
(top right) Cloverleaf Snowflake from the book
Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman tatted in size 3 white with glitter.
(middle left) Flower Snowflake from the same book as above.  Tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Angel's Love.
Tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Angel's Love.
(bottom) is Layered Tatted Snowflake from:
Tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Blue Ice.
In this middle picture are 8 Lavender & Lace inspired # 3 snowflakes of mine.
They are tatted in Lizbeth size 20 Christmas Delight, and Blue Ice.
In this last picture are many snowflakes that either were too small for the request, or they had mistakes in them.  The top 2 are Lavender & Lace inspired #3 snowflakes.
Second row is:
tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Blue Ice, and
Minta Pattern(same as in top picture) tatted in size 20 Christmas Delight.
Third row is:
Minaret Snowflake from the book Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman
tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Blue Ice, and
tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Blue Ice.
Fouth row is:
Snowflake # 2 without the doodad from:
tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Christmas Delight, and
Merry Christmas Snowflake from:
tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Angel's Love.
And on the bottom is one that I found on the internet somewhere and printed it.  It's not even a full pattern because there is a ring in the center which the pattern doesn't tell about, but I thought after tatting the outer edge(which the pattern does tell about) that it might fit on one of my "doodads" and it did perfectly.  Most interesting part is that it actually mimics the snowflake in the center perfectly!!!  It's tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Blue Ice.  :)
**Sorry the pictures aren't really great and you can't see the color well at all.**

Tatting thread organizer

This is my new tatting thread organizer.  It's actually for Christmas ornaments, but I thought it would work for what I want.
It's nice sized and has 60 compartments.  There is a nice clear window in the top.
There are 3 "drawers".  They are cardboard and need assembly.  They fit VERY tightly in the case.
I have my size 40 variegated threads in the top.

The second drawer holds my size 40 solids.
The bottom has my size 10s and 20s, as well as a few random.
Here are what the drawers look like out.
If anyone is interested here is a link to the "organizer"
I have been working on my request for 13 snowflakes.  I want to keep them all about 3 inches in size.  I have tatted about 10 snowflakes, but several have been smaller so I will be finding a purpose for them later.  :)

Lavender & Lace inspired # 3

Here are the other points turned into a snowflake.  Again tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Blue Ice.
My husband was almost speechless when I showed it to him.  He really likes it!!  :)
And here without the background.  :)
