2012 25 Motif Challenge: Motifs # 24 & 25

I was having a rough week this past week and really couldn't handle much, so I sat down and tatted....an angel.  :)  She is from the book Christmas Angels and Other Tatting Patterns by Monica Hahn, page 8 Angel #2, and she is tatted in Lizbeth size 40 Tropical Punch-she is #24.
And then I got a wonderful chance to go join an awesome group of ladies Saturday.  They are the Tollway Tatters!!  Cheryl and I were blessed to meet such wonderful ladies and enjoy a day of tatting, chatting, and learning.  And we got goodies too!!!  :)  Hope we get to go again!!
While there I was able to learn from Marilee Rockley some techniques I can use(hopefully soon!!!).  And I did get some tatting done.  This little motif called Masquerade from Tatting with Visual Patterns by Mary Konior.  Every time I have looked at this pattern all I could see was flowers and leaves, so...I tatted flowers with leaves.  :)  It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Fruit Fizz, and size 40 Yarnplayer's HDT Celery(which I love!!).

I will have to upload the pictures from Saturday tomorrow hopefully!!

2012 25 Motif Challenge: Motif #19

Here is the Five-Pointed Star from Christmas Angels and Other Tatting Patterns by Monica Hahn. Tatted in size 20 Blue Ice.

It cupped a little in the center and I am going to try and tame that, but I don't know if I will tat this one again. I needed to pay close attention since every ring changes stitch count, and it was a bit frustrating doing the joins in the center. I also did the shoe lace trick because the book said shuttle and ball, yet they wanted you to use the ball as a shuttle and do the thrown off rings(I think that is correct since it doesn't say that in the pattern). It's pretty enough(bad to scan on white background, but I am being a bit lazy tonight). :)

2011: 25 Motif Challenge- Motifs 22,23,24,&25

Wow! I was actually able to get 25 done for the challenge this year. I have done other things, but I don't like to count repeats.
I tatted some motifs to put in photo coasters for a Christmas present.

First is Mary Konior's Queen of Hearts from Tatting with Visual Patterns in size 100 Rainbow Bright HDT from Tatskool. (I messed up a chain in this-shhhhh) #22

Next: Mary Konior's Posy from Tatting with Visual Patterns in size 40 Lizbeth Fruit Fizz. (I messed up the joins in this-shhhhh) #23

Next: Tatted Cross by Mark Myers in size 40 Lizbeth Lilac Dk. (I left out 2 rings in this-shhhh)

--this is a repeat so it's not counted

Next: Knobby Snowflake from Christmas Angels and Other Tatting Patterns by Monica Hahn in size 40 Lizbeth Rainbow Taffy and Lemon Yellow. (I think I didn't mess this up, but it's just slightly large for the coaster). #24

Last: I just tatted this this morning. I saw it on Mary's site:

http://maryshandmade.blogspot.com/2011/10/acum-e-randul-vostru.html
and hers are gorgeous!!! She posted the pattern and I couldn't wait to try it.

It's done in size 40 Lizbeth Rainbow Taffy. It's so very pretty, but not quite as awesome as Mary's. :)

2011: 25 Motif Challenge- Motif #8

There is no great way to scan or photograph this because of the ruffles, but I had to show it.
This is a hair scrunchie made of size 20 hand dyed thread-"Sacred Lotus" by Crochet4U2Dye4, and the pattern is Napkin Holder #2(just repeated over and over) from the book Christmas Angels and Other Tatting Patterns by Monica Hahn. I think this will be so lovely in some young girl's hair.

I also just finished another rainbow cross for another order of 3 from my mother-in-law again. I think she is going to keep me in the rainbow cross business. :)

2011: 25 Motif Challenge- Motif #1

Here is the butterfly I was working on last night. It's the Flat Butterfly from the book Christmas Angels and Other Tatting Patterns by Monica Hahn.
There are 2 small mistakes in the center small rings-I made them all the same size after doing 4 and noticing that the top and bottom ones are supposed to be larger than the side ones, but oh well. I like it. The thread is a hand dyed thread cotton crochet from Crochet4U2Dye4 size 20 and the color is Iris Bouquet. I fell in love with the color and I think it makes a lovely butterfly!

Same butterfly, different color backgrounds. Couldn't find one to show off the beauty, but thought I would share them all anyway. :)
