Well, no tatting again.

My niece asked if I would make her a bell sleeved cardigan.
As a beginning crocheter I was quite nervous, but honored.
Well, I got it completed.  It took almost 7 skeins of I love the Yarn,
and just under a month(started June 29th and finished July 14th).
There were some challenges, but I worked my way through them
and pulled out several sections multiple times and corrected them.

I was frustrated with the light colored section and even
brought the cardigan to Hobby Lobby and showed them
and let them take pictures to report it, but my niece said
she was ok with it.  We live about an hour and a half to
2 hours from each other and so I couldn't try it on her or
know if it fit till she came yesterday to pick it up and try
it and she LOVES it.  She said it was perfect!!
I am so happy!!! :)
She also loves the Dr. Pepper scarf and has asked me to
make her one, and is planning to have me make her
another sweater at some point.
It's great to have someone enjoy your work!!
I have also been working on a Christmas present in
crochet which is almost done.
I have several projects "for me" in line already.
I also have 2 tatting projects(one which needs a lot of
beads-from the new book I got)  in line too.
Lots going on!!!
Hope you are all having a great summer and getting some
tatting in!! :)

No tatting to show

I have been so "enticed" by these scarf creations!!!

I have just completed my sixth scarf.

I need to catch you up and will show all 6 in the

order that I have crocheted them.

Cocoa mug.

Bible(need Holy Bible for front).

Popcorn bucket.

Can of Dr. Pepper(need Logo).

Mc Donald's french fries.

Cocoa mug with mini marshmallows.

For those who are interested, the designer is
The Crochet Collector on Etsy and Facebook.
As a beginner in crochet, I feel like I have done
pretty good on these.

I will continue making more, but, my niece(adult)
has asked me to make her a cardigan with "bell" sleeves.
I found several pattern tutorials on Youtube and she
chose the one she likes.
I was watching it the other day trying to get an idea
of what I would be doing to make it, and noticed that
she apparently edited it and then made some kind of
correction, but the part where the shoulders start has
been cut out and I might have trouble there.  Oh well,
I am going to do my best.  ;)

I hope you have a great day, and that I will see
several of you for Tollway Tatters on Saturday!!! :)

Name tag ready for delivery

I have added a pin to the name tag to wear.

Blogger is getting more and more challenging.
I am still having trouble commenting, except on
Jane Eborall's blog. ;)
If I use Google Chrome browser it won't let me
add pictures now. So I am using Firefox browser.

As for other crafting, I made a Go Blue sign in
plastic canvas for a guy who asked me to
(I think it's for football-I am NOT into sports!!!).

And for crochet, I made another scarf(working on
enhancing with words). It's a Bible(can be a book
of any kind you like).
Pattern by The Crochet Collector on Etsy.

Have a wonderful weekend!!!
Happy tatting and crafting everyone!! :)
Can't wait!! Tomorrow is Tollway Tatters again!! :)

A Tatted "Name Tag"

I was working on trying to make a "name tag" for
someone I know and struggled a ton with it,
but today after watching 2 video tutorials
and sitting down and realizing I need to
slow down and do extra checks, I got it done
and it really didn't take that long, which is
frustrating since it has taken me over a month
to figure out.
Here it is done with the tatting part. Next is to
get a pin or something to be able to wear it. 😉
It's Robin Perfetti's Meandering Bookmark from
Four Dozen Tatted Bookmarks book.
Only tatters will find my mistakes(yep, there are mistakes!!!)

Close-up below:
Crochet hook for size comparison.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend and
get some tatting in!! :)

Still having trouble commenting, but I do have some things to show

Blogs have me as Anonymous, but I am not. ;)
I leave my name and blog name so people know it's me.

I haven't had much time lately, but am gaining a little.
I had a cross I needed to tat for a lady. It's ready to go,
but she was sick yesterday so I will bring it till I see her.
**update: so sorry, I forgot to say it is tatted with Lizbeth
size 40 Purple Iris Fusion-hard to see through the plastic.

I have also been working on crochet which I am so
excited about....besides my tatting.  ;)
I made a cocoa mug scarf(you should know that I
LOVE cocoa!!!).
***update, my apologies, I forgot to say the pattern
is from Crochet Collector on facebook and Etsy.

And, I am on a plastic canvas project for a guy
who wants a Go Blue sign(for football I think-
I am not into sports). ;)
***another update- this sign is finally done:

So, I am doing something.

Have a wonderful week and happy Tatting!!  :)

Cannot comment on blogs till they fix it again.

I signed in to Blogger, and started checking blogs in my list, but when I went to comment I said comment as anonymous, and I decided to check the top and it says "sign in".  But yet, I am already signed in.  It goes through this once in awhile and so, I just want to say, what I saw on the blogs I usually comment on looks great!!  Will start commenting again when possible.
That is my only real complaint about the blogs. ;)
Have a wonderful week and great tatting times!!! :)

A necklace

It's a pattern by Madjar Tatting on Etsy. Link here:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/686438988/beaded-necklace-tatting-pattern-pdf?ref=shop_home_active_3&sts=1&dd=1&logging_key=7aea3e0ee5b9880b6e216971d824c503d84b74ec%3A686438988&fbclid=IwY2xjawPkphFleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFMRk4zUnluWTJjOVJ4OWh1c3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHkQT5yZHjuV0Pr_pUW7lXg-xLiUCTJMrQPIhgAnwgLBQR7nyAziacxwgiWvU_aem_aCUhINodWRkceC0il4Jm3w
  I really like the design.
But as for tatting it....I found that she calls for 81 beads, but I
would need more to have it go all the way around my neck,
and I did add about 8 more beads and it's still too short.
I wanted to make a necklace to go with this shirt I got at
Hobby Lobby.  I love the color!  It's so different than common
colors.  I feel it's a pinkish purple(almost raspberry).

The pattern says size 20 thread, but I only had a size 40
that would compliment the shirt and beads.  It's Lizbeth
Purple Iris Dk.  I used 2 strands hoping it would be good
enough to equal the size 20.  Beads are size 6mm which
I had to order from Amazon.  I was so happy that the color
was so perfect!! :)

So, I have to either tat some more to get the sides
close enough for a clasp, or figure some kind of
to connect the ends to the shoulders while wearing.
Either way I do like it!! :)
Happy Tatting everyone!! :)

Not tatting.....

Well, my first and large crochet project is finished.
It's the Sunburst Granny Square Cardigan by
Oh Me, Oh My Crochet.
I used I Love This Yarn color:456 Poolside Siesta.
It's heavy!!!  I should stay good and warm in it!!
Happy New Year to you all!!!  :)
May your tatting and other crafts be blessed in the
new year, and may you be blessed to have time for
them!!! :)

Rescued tatting

Moving my father-in-law out of his apartment to
assisted living and came across a box of "junk"
and on the top was a crumpled lace piece.  When
I picked it up and looked, I realized it was tatting.
As far as I know I am the only tatter they knew, and
my father-in-law thought I had tatted this, but I did
not.  I have never seen the piece before.  It is pretty
and my hubby wants me to clean and block it and
keep it now. ;)
I am thinking it could be a size 20 thread.
It's very light weight.
Here is a close-up of the center.
I am not sure if I have seen the pattern before.
If anyone knows, please inform me. ;)

Now, this is my tatting.  It's for our daughter's
roommate. Our daughter said she would like a
personalize ornament of their cats, and I thought
this would be more special.

Also, I tatted another My Portion Cross from
Elaine P. Gan for a friend:

And today I just tatted in size 40 the holly leaves
and added red beads for the berries.  I think
these will make great holiday earrings.

Have a wonderful start to your new year and
happy New Year tatting!! :)

Even though Christmas is next week....

It's still autumn(at least in earrings) around here.  ;)
A lady liked the Small Maple Leaf Earrings by Yarnplayer
that I tatted and wanted a pair, but she wanted post
earrings so I got them done and she wore them immediately
even though we had 4 inches of snow that day.
I used Lizbeth size 40 Autumn Spice.
And...another friend like the earrings...but, asked for
pink and purple.  I used Lizbeth size 40 Girly Girl thread.
They are quite pretty considering I was not sure about
pink & purple maple leaves.  ;)

I have a tatted ornament I am hoping to tat
yet today, but not sure if I can complete it,
and also wanting to work some more on my
crochet cardigan(been sitting for weeks).

Tatted Holly knob decorations *added an update*

I wanted to tat something and have long been inspired
(and never tatted) Nicola Bowersox's 2017 Holly Ice Drop.
So the other day I was hit with an idea to tat holly decorations
to put around my kitchen cabinet knobs. So, I took time
today and tatted a trial and I really like it!! :)

Now to tat more for the other cabinets!! :)

Size 10 Artiste thread from Hobby Lobby.
Have a wonderful weekend and hope you get
some tatting in!! :)

UPDATE:  I got a 2nd done. ;)

Since I am learning crochet and have made some progress on my cardigan

This morning I was thrilled to find tatting inspiration online:
https://www.reddit.com/r/tatting/comments/1jeinzl/tatted_granny_square_example/

And here is my progress on my crocheted Sunburst Granny Square Cardigan:

The picture above and the one below show the first 4 squares joined.
I was able to get that whole left side(long row) joined yesterday.

Hope you have a great day!!  Hope to see you online for
Tollway Tatters Saturday morning!! :)

Tatting and Crochet

I got my second ink pen tatted insert done.
At some point I will try a 3rd. ;)  It's a little
challenging for me and this 2nd one I made a
wrong join and it took a while to correct!
First one in Lizbeth size 20 Caribbean,
Second in Lizbeth size 20 Tropical Punch.
I am continuing to learn crochet.  I am up to 45
Sunburst Granny Squares out of 78 for my cardigan.
And, I crocheted 2 of the flower you see on the left top.
They are to become hexagons if I can get that figured
out.  And, I crocheted a heart that should be the
center of a square, but I didn't get that right either.  ;)
Here are the rest of my squares for the cardigan below,
 part of the count.
And, I saw these cool scrubbies and wanted to crochet
them for our daughter, but I am going to hide this and
just use it myself.  It didn't turn inward in the center
as the design shows(I followed a video that seemed
to be the same thing, but called a holiday decoration),
but my center is terrible. ;)  At least is looks almost
right. ;)  :)
Back to some tatting while I am at home this week
not feeling so well.  I can't go around all the seniors
if I am not up to 100%.  Don't want anyone else not
feeling well!!!
It's just plugged sinuses, but it worries some.  ;)
Have a great day!!  Enjoy some tatting!! :)

No tatting to speak of today....

But, my crochet is coming along!!

Again from Me Oh My Crochet.

This picture only has 6 squares, but I have
11 squares completed now.

And today I just crocheted my first flower!!
From the same artist, but I purchased a package
of patterns with several projects that have this
 flower. ;)
I thought I was doing pretty well, but wasn't clear
on the Round 4 instructions so I took a picture to
show the artist my project, and ask how to start the
next row- she answered me and said I missed a single
chain stitch between each cluster(which explained why
it was cupping so bad). ;)
Well, pull it all back out(much, much easier than taking
a row out of my tatting!!!), and redo it in just a few
minutes, and then start on the flower petals following
then instructions and I got it!! :)

Now to start tatting another cross to balance my
crafts out a bit, and then it should be supper time. ;)
Hope you are having a wonderful day!!!  :)
