Just an update on the 2014 Renulek's Spring Doily

I have a few repeats of the next to last round done, but haven't gotten very far yet.

 This next picture is my thumb with an oven rack imprint burned into it.  Sunday I was moving the oven racks up one and the potholder slipped and my thumb took all the heat.  Thankfully this is as bad as it has looked and it hasn't been hurting, but I haven't been using it(I am very pain intolerant-my term).  So....hopefully I will find some courage to pick up a shuttle and try to work soon(NO promises).  :)   Have a wonderful tatting day!!!  :)

Test tatted cross(another).

Another cross design of Elaine P. Gan.  

I love this design, but it sure does trick my mind when needing to make joins(especially in the center).  :)

It's in size 40 Lizbeth Boysenberry.

My husband took our kitchen chairs to a woodworker to be re-glued(after over 20 years or use), and while there the three guys somehow got talking about tatting and doilies(yah, I said guys were talking about it).  The woodworker said he and his wife drive to Indiana looking for doilies and he wanted my information in case she might want me to tat some doilies for her.  WOW!!!  

Next time I think I will take the chairs myself and avoid extra work(ha ha ha).  :)

Another test tat done

This is another test tat for Elaine P. Gan.  There is a mistake of my own in there.  I added a couple of stitches and a picot by mistake and didn't notice till just about the end of the project.  Oh well....   :)

This one is tatted in Lizbeth size 40 Boysenberry Dk.

I love this design!!!

We have sunshine again and "warmer" temperatures, but they say cold will be returning next week.

Another test tat(with another mistake)

This is another test tat cross for Elaine P. Gan.  It's not bad, but there are a couple of mistakes.

The colors are Lizbeth Sky Blue Med. and Peacock Blues size 40.

For all the Give-away winners....the envelopes are on their way as of this morning!!  :)

A little test tatting done.

I am test tatting again for Elaine P. Gan from Test Tatters on Facebook.

This first cross is a bit sad, but it's done.  I made a mistake on that first arm on the right side, and it's a fiddly cross to tat.  I just finished it and it is definitely a cross that will need blocking!!

It's called the Holy Cross due to the hole in the center.

 This next one is called Iron Cross.  When it's done in black with silver beads it looks more like an Iron Cross, but I decided to try it without the beads and no black.  :)

Round 11 finally done on Renulek's 2014 Spring Doily!!!  :)

It seemed for some reason that I just couldn't get into a flow of tatting, just a few repeats here and there.  With such a simple round I figured it would be done in a day or two, but it's taken longer than that.  Only 2 rounds left to go.  I think it might be done by the time we see signs of spring around here.  :)

Celebrating the start of my 5th year of tatting with a Give-Away

This year will be my 5th year of tatting and blogging.

  I don't have much, but I wanted to have a give-away.

I thank everyone who is following this blog, and all those who leave me encouraging comments

 and just a hello now and then!!!  :)

This is actually going to be 5 small give-aways.

2015 Motif Challenge # 3

This I am definitely including as a challenge piece!!!

It's another of Jane's fabulous designs(this one not for the faint of heart)!!!

I would not recommend this for beginners.

This took complete attention!!!  It has mistakes in it-I am sure I didn't change shuttles in the correct spot somewhere, and there is a missed join, and I made a huge mistake without realizing it until the second to the last repeat(when it kept bugging me that the inner round laid so nicely and the outer round seemed so compact and crunched)

......I used 2 different sizes of thread(I thought I read the label!!!).

It's tatted in size 40 HDT from Snapdragon Lace  color: Wisteria, 

and size 20 Lizbeth Lilac Dk.

I love the design and even the colors.  Maybe some day with more time and attention I will attempt it again, because it truly is wonderful!!!!  :)
