I did a Tatting Demo today

First to share the tiny bit of tatting I have done in 2 weeks.
I started a tat-a-long(at the suggestion of a friend).
I should have researched first!!!!
This is Jan Stawasz' collar on pg. 78 of Tatted Treasures.
Of course, it is NOT a collar yet. I am having trouble
and ended up setting it aside for most of 2 weeks.
I am tatting it in size 10(which the pattern calls for)
Lizbeth Blue River Glades and Cream.
The exciting news I had to share which forced me to
show my lack of a collar is that today I did a tatting
demo.  Someone got my business card at a craft show
and gave it to a lady in her church and they  have a
group of ladies who asked if I would come and do a
demo for them.  I got all prepared and had shuttles
and thread for each person to try.  I brought doilies,
and earrings, necklaces, Christmas ornaments and
snowflakes to show lots of different items can be
tatted.  I brought different shuttles to show and 3
tatting books to show also.
It was a great 2 hours of talking, learning, trying and
kind of tatting.  ;)
Only one took her thread and shuttle home.  Several
took my business card and said they want to see my
blog and Etsy shop.  But they all loved the tatting
and learned about it.  I had a great time!!! :)
Oh, and I wore my tatted "shuttle" necklace I made.

Oh, I forgot to show you this neat basket
our daughter got me because the design
made her think of tatting.

Have a great tatting day!!!

What a wonderful experience! I love demonstrating tatting. I looked at the Jan Stawasz collar and decided it wasn't for me at this point. I will enjoy seeing your progress!
