A necklace

It's a pattern by Madjar Tatting on Etsy. Link here:

  I really like the design.
But as for tatting it....I found that she calls for 81 beads, but I
would need more to have it go all the way around my neck,
and I did add about 8 more beads and it's still too short.
I wanted to make a necklace to go with this shirt I got at
Hobby Lobby.  I love the color!  It's so different than common
colors.  I feel it's a pinkish purple(almost raspberry).

The pattern says size 20 thread, but I only had a size 40
that would compliment the shirt and beads.  It's Lizbeth
Purple Iris Dk.  I used 2 strands hoping it would be good
enough to equal the size 20.  Beads are size 6mm which
I had to order from Amazon.  I was so happy that the color
was so perfect!! :)

So, I have to either tat some more to get the sides
close enough for a clasp, or figure some kind of
to connect the ends to the shoulders while wearing.
Either way I do like it!! :)
Happy Tatting everyone!! :)

It’s really pretty and goes perfectly with the shirt. Could you perhaps sew it to the shirt so it doesn’t need to join?

That looks perfect!

Have you explored sewing the edging onto the shirt? I have a shirt I trimmed in tatting years ago. It washes up fine. The beads haven't come off nor the thread torn. Just throw it in the washer and dryer. The tatting is only long enough to go from shoulder seam to shoulder seam, but it makes me feel pretty!

The two colors look beautiful together!

Thank you so very much!! :) I don't think it would be good to sew it to the shirt with those large glass beads.

The necklace looks great! Perhaps you could try Angela Gambka's tip ... sew a few beads artistically on the shirt and the lace can be attached through them when needed, and removed when desired.

Thank you for that tip, I hadn't thought about that. I will consider it.
And thank you so very much for your comment!! :)
