Some joy in a rough week

First bit of joy(looks messy) is the start of the next doily I am tatting
(it's another secret-hopefully not to be found out this time!).
This is from Tatting Patterns by Mary Konior.
This is the most expensive book I have ever purchased, but I am so glad I did!!!
This doily is the Hostess Set Centerpiece.  This is tatted in size 10 Lizbeth Turquoise Twist.
It is in desperate need of blocking!!!  But I wait till the end cuz' I am going to wrinkle it up any way.
Next is most exciting and the major joy this week.  I splurged with my Christmas money and bought this awesome gorgeous necklace from Yarnplayer.  Notice necklace is neck lace???
This is so much more beautiful in real life, and I think it's the most elegant thing I own!!!
Hoping not to make Diane too jealous knowing her love of blue too(smiles).  :)
Well...I hope your week has been far better than mine and that you have had plenty of wonderful tatting time!!!  :)

  2. Well your doily looks great and that is a cool book I think I have the book but don't recognize the pattern I never do cause every one has better colors choice now and the colors really make a difference.
At first I thought you made the necklace and so fast too. It is beautiful and I bought one from West Pine Once and was so happy, they do look better in person, an this looks really good too!

  6. I have all Mary's book so I will look it up when I get a quite few minutes. I think the doily will look lovely with what you have done so far.
Gorgeous necklace, I too love blue and you will look amazing with that necklace
Hope to blog some of my latest tatting today or tomorrow,
    Have a good tatting weekend

  7. I'm glad you told us where the doily pattern came from. I thought it looked very familiar, but I couldn't figure out where I'd seen it. I have that book....tatted the 'coaster' version (might be called a 'glass mat' in the book, can't remember) several times, but never the big centerpiece. Yours looks wonderful. I hope you enjoy the tatted necklace. It's very pretty.

  8. Thank you all very much!!! :)
SWtrompeter, after a couple more rounds I think I will have the coaster or glass mat version, but I want to tat the big one so I think I will have basically tatted all three by the time I finish the one(I think there is just a slight variance to the final rounds on the 2 smaller ones).
