This I am definitely including as a challenge piece!!!
It's another of Jane's fabulous designs(this one not for the faint of heart)!!!
Pattern link here: http://janeeborall.freeservers.com/RoundaboutMotif.pdf
I would not recommend this for beginners.
This took complete attention!!! It has mistakes in it-I am sure I didn't change shuttles in the correct spot somewhere, and there is a missed join, and I made a huge mistake without realizing it until the second to the last repeat(when it kept bugging me that the inner round laid so nicely and the outer round seemed so compact and crunched)
......I used 2 different sizes of thread(I thought I read the label!!!).
It's tatted in size 40 HDT from Snapdragon Lace color: Wisteria,
and size 20 Lizbeth Lilac Dk.
I love the design and even the colors. Maybe some day with more time and attention I will attempt it again, because it truly is wonderful!!!! :)
Hope you had a wonderful day with some tatting!! :)
Oh, I like this snowflake and color too,I'll have to get this color looks great!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so cute ... like dancing around with linked hands.... it has a kind of Celtic interweaving effect.
ReplyDeleteI did have some good tatting done y'day ! Slow, because I'm working with tiny thread this time ;-)
Thank you both!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the many shades of purple in this one. You did a fine job with it because it looks lovely.
ReplyDeletegreat snowflake! Good luck with the challenge!
ReplyDeleteVery nice snowflake, gives the look of celtic tatting, and interesting colours.
ReplyDeleteMargaret

ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful, and I sure don't see any mistakes!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much everyone!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful snowflake. Congrats for the blog anniversary!
ReplyDeleteI love the thread. I also thought it looked like a Celtic design due to your use of two colors on the split rings. Lovely job!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ninetta and Grace!!! :)
