2014 25 Motif Challenge Motif #1

This is Mary Konior's Ring A Ring O' Roses from Tatting with Visual Patterns in size 40 Lizbeth Sea Island Citrus.  Our niece just moved in with us and wants a set of tatting in photo coasters as I have done in the past.  I let her pick the motifs she wanted and the colors, but this one is too big for the coaster(and I don't think I would like to try it again-it IS a challenge!!).  I love it in these colors, but I don't thing I am good at tatting it.  :)  It HAD to be blocked just to lay flat.  I think it's pretty good.
So...now, we are trying another motif to see if it will fit in a coaster.  :)

  1. That is a pattern I never tire of looking at, what is that color? Is it island citrus? I think I ordered it any way. And this looks very good I would press it with an iron too.

  2. Motif looks great and I love those colors. I just bought that colorway but haven't used it yet, with Valentine's coming up it's all red and pink right now.

  3. Beautiful, Sue! And lovely colour as well. I have tatted this a few times and found it to be a challenge. Yours is just great!

  4. Lovely colour, nice pattern shame it's too big, hope you find another pattern for the coasters.

  5. Oh my! It does look like a challenge: onion rings and thrown off rings...
Maybe you could do it in size 80 or 100 and make it fit? [Just kidding!!]
There are lots of other circular motifs. She might even want a variety. That would be the most fun.

  7. So pretty! Perhaps something simpler will be better for coasters though.

  8. Thank you Carla!! :)
Thank you Jane!! I am letting her choose her pattern and if it's challenging, then I feel I can actually work on it for my 25 Motif Challenge and be ok if it doesn't work for her. :) Just an excuse to tat either way!! :)

  9. Beautiful motif! The colors remind me of spring too, which is always nice.
