Okay so you Google "state fair" with what ever state you live in and the site should come up and then they have side bars that tell you about entries and categories you can enter in. Look under sewing and then lots of times tatting is a sub category and entry form and rules come up. and there are phone numbers to call if you are confused too. You get to enter and display your stuff free and sometimes you get a small check with a ribbon you win too! it is fun and you meet lots of nice people too.
I agree: State Fair is a must. But if that seems too much, try your County Fair. Unless the organizers are enlightened, you may be entering your drops with crochet, or maybe under decorations. These could be fall or Easter or whatever seems logical. I predict ribbons in your future. Good luck!
